~Back to Present Day~
“I’m sorry, Spike. I really didn’t want to tell you.” Angel said when he was done. Spike had his head in his hands. Somehow by telling him the story it had triggered something and he remembered it. Not only was it bad enough to hear what happened, but also he was now seeing the actual images of what happened in his head as if it had happened yesterday.

“Why didn’t I go with you?” Spike asked as he looked up with tears in his eyes. He knew the answer but he needed to ask something, anything.

“You wanted to ask her to marry you.” Angel said simply.

“I think I’m gonna go upstairs for a little bit.” Spike said as he got up.

“Let me help.” Angel said as he got up and walked over to Spike.

“I got it, Angel.” Spike said pushing Angel away and went over to the stairs.

“Give him some time. He just found out that the woman he loved was dead; he needs time to think.” Cordelia said as she came over to stand by Angel and put her arm around his waist.

“You’re probably right.” Angel said smiling sadly at her.

“Oh, I know I’m right.” Cordelia said giving Angel a smile and then there was a knock on the door and Cordelia went to answer it.

“Hey, Cordy. Found this fugitive in my car and thought you might want him.” An older man said as he stepped into the house with a smile on his face.

“Hey, Daddy and hey, sweetie. Does Mommy get a hug?” Cordelia asked the little boy that was in her dad’s arms.

“Of, cose, Mommy.” The boy said putting his little arms around Cordelia’s neck. Cordelia then took him into her arms.

“Hey, Jim.” Angel said as he came in.

“Hey there. How’s Spike doin’?” Jim asked with a look of concern on his face.

“Who Spike?” the little boy asked looking up at his daddy.

“How ‘bout we go into the living room, Connor and I’ll tell you a little about him.” Cordelia said taking Connor into the living room.

Upstairs in the room that Angel had set him up in; Spike was lying flat on his back on top of the covers. This wasn’t what he had expected when he died saving the world, he then realized though that that hadn’t been real; it had all been just a dream. He suddenly heard some footsteps outside his door.

“May we come in?” Cordelia asked as she knocked lightly on the door. Spike noticed a small boy wrapping his arms around her leg while holding some pieces of paper.

“Um, sure, luv. Who’s the munchkin?” Spike asked nodding his head towards the boy.

“This is your, godson, Connor Liam William Walsh.” She said smiling at Spike.

“He has my name.” Spike said a little surprised.

“We thought it was the best we could do for you since you were in a coma. Do you remember being told that Angel wanted you as the godfather?” Cordelia asked with a sad smile on her face; Spike shook his had ‘no’ that he didn’t rememer.

“Don’t really remember anything, well except the…incident…um, me waking up, and my really weird dream.” Spike said showing very little emotion, but if you looked in his eyes you would see sadness, the feeling of feeling lost, and possibly fear.

“Here, godfatha, I made you a cod. Mommy said it would make you feel better.” Connor said as he crawled on the bed with Spike; Cordelia may have helped him up a little though. Spike smiled when Connor called him ‘godfather’, he always seemed to have a soft spot for kids.

“You can call me Will if you want. Now let me see what you made.” Spike said smiling at him.

“Mommy said you liked poetwee, so I wote you a poem, well Mommy did, I told hew what to put and she put it down. You want me tell it to you?” Connor asked smiling brightly.

“It’s true that this is written word for word of what he said.” Cordelia said smiling.

“K, then go ahead, little guy.” Spike said and when he did he saw Connor’s smile grow.

“Willum slept fo while
But woke ‘cause he miss Uncle Gile
His head got huwt and Da was sad
He awake and we all glad.” When he was finished he looked up at Spike beaming. ‘The kid did know the thing word for word and she did write it down how he said it.’ Spike thought to himself smiling. Seconds after he had finished he had looked at the card Connor had made him and saw it written plus some very colorful scribble with a stickfigure here and there.

“You like it, Will?” Connor asked hopefully.

“It was the best.” Spike said smiling.

“I’ll let you two get to know each other and have some guy time.” Cordelia said as she walked out of the room leaving Connor behind with Spike. Connor seemed to have taken quite a liking to his godfather.
