DEEP SPACE NINE
Picard, Giles, Kira, and Worf are waiting in Worf's office for the arrival of Admiral Snyder. Normally, the commanding officer would meet a visiting Admiral at the gangway hatch or transporter room. But none of them would give that respect to Snyder. Picard looked around the office...most of Captain Ben Sisko's possessions were still here, like Kira and Worf expected him to walk through the door at any minute. The door slides open and Snyder walks in closely followed by Captain Will Riker. Picard smiled as Riker walks and shakes his hand.
RIKER-
"Good to see you again, Captain?"
PICARD-
"You too, Captain. This is Captain Rupert Giles. I think you already know Colonel Kira Nerys and of course Commander Worf."
SNYDER-
"Can we get on with this, Captain. Now, Starfleet Command is worried about this uncharted planet being so close to the Cardassian border. So, Enterprise will be escorted by Titan and Defiant. I'll be in command on the Enterprise." Picard's eyebrows went up. He looks over at Riker and can tell that his former first officer didn't like the idea either.
GILES-
"Admiral....I must protest this action. The Enterprise is quite capable of conducting this mission. With all respect to Captain Riker and Commander Worf."
RIKER-
"No, Captain. I agree."
SNYDER-
"Well, unfortunately for you, it's my call. Captain Picard, you will transferre command over to me tomorrow morning before we launch. That is all." Snyder leaves the office.
KIRA-
"I have always heard about Snyder, but I never believed it...until now."
RIKER-
"Captain, believe me...he never mentioned anything about taking command."
PICARD-
"I know, Will....it's not your fault."
GILES-
"What do we do?"
PICARD-
"Follow his orders....for now."
Dawn was sitting at the bar, drinking a root beer. Buffy, Willow, Faith, and Tara were doing some training on a holodeck. A young man sits next to her. He introduces himself as Jake Sisko.
DAWN-
"Hi, Jake. I'm Dawn Summers."
JAKE-
"So, where are you heading?"
DAWN-
"Can't tell you. Sorry."
JAKE-
"Ah...you're going to check out that unchartered planet. My best friend, Nog, is the helmsman on the Defiant."
DAWN-
"So, what do you do? Are you related to Captain Sisko." Jake's eyes turned sad.
JAKE-
"He was....is my father."
DAWN-
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."
JAKE-
"Okay."
Snyder walks in Quark's and instructs the bartender to cut the music off.
SNYDER-
"ATTENTION!! ANY AND ALL ENTERPRISE, TITAN, AND DEFIANT PERSONEL ARE HEREBY BANNED FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. This includes you, Summers."
DAWN-
"Sorry, Jake. I got to go." Quark runs up and stops her.
QUARK-
"You let me handle this. You're a cillivan and he can't order you out. ADMIRAL.....maybe you can come to some sort of understanding."
SNYDER-
"I don't think so, Ferengi. Summer's don't make me make things difficult for your sister. You can be surprised how many Starfleet Officers stay the same rank for years and years." Dawn grabs her stuff and leaves.
As Snyder leaves, Quark and him look at each other strangely....then they both walk away from each other.
