GALATICA
Xander was helping Callie with the repairs on a Raptor Recon ship when the world shattering announcement came through the loud speaker.
ADAMA (over the PA)-
"This is the Commander. Moments ago, this ship received word of a Cyclon attack on our home worlds is underway. We did not know the size of the enemy force. All we know is at this moment....we are at war."
Xander looked over at Callie and Proshay while Crew Chief Tyrol starts to issue orders to make the landing and launch bays combat ready. As Xander raced to his battlestation, all he could think of was Anya. She position was to make sure no break-ins happened at the commissary. She was one of the few people except Marines and pilots who carries a pistol during Action Station conditions.
Angel and Riley were busy as hell. Angel's position was in the CIC (Combat Information Center) while Riley's job was on-site commander. He had done this drill a hundred times, but this was different....this was no drill. He can to keep pushing Sam out of his mind to do his job. He knew that her ship, Pegasus, would be on the front lines.
Angel walked into the CIC and saw Adama, Tighe, and Lieutenant Gadia making announcements to the crew. Angel walked up slowly, and he overheard Adama saying something about getting the pilots out of the brig. 'That's right...unleash Spike, Slayer, and Starbuck on the Cyclons.'
ANGEL-
"Commander, all Marines on station."
ADAMA-
"Thank you, Major."
Spike, Faith, and Starbuck were on their feet in the brig as soon as the announcement was made. The guard was talking to somebody, then he hung up and unlock their cells.
GUARD-
"Lieutenant Threys, Commander Adama wants you in the CIC, Lieutenants Pratt and Lehane report to the pilot's ready room." They ran out of the brig.
SPIKE-
"The first wave has already launched. Maybe we can get in on the defense squardon."
FAITH-
"How do you know the first wave already launched?"
SPIKE-
"Standard procedure, pet."
COLONIAL FLIGHT 798
Dawn had brought along her wireless radio. She was listening to her favorite song when the news broke in about the attack. She handed Buffy the radio, and then Buffy went up front and talked to Roslin. Dawn looks out of the window at the lone Viper flying alongside. His call sign was Apollo, and he was flying a forty year old fighter. The sight still made her feel good.
