"Conner it's Dad."
"Hi."
"How was the movie?"
"Good, but when I was talking to Robby about one of the scenes she said she didn't pay attention to what the actor was saying."
"Which part?"
"The guy climbed out of the water and onto the ship and starting saying She goes free!"
"Who was the actor."
"Orlando something or other."
Angel held back a gulp. He's heard Fred and Cordy oogling over that guy before, "I-I'm sure she was just tired."
"Yeah. What's up?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something."
"What is it?"
"I'd have prefered to do this in person but under the circumstances..."
"Dad?"
"It's about Robby."
"What about her?"
"Do you...do you have feelings for her. As more then a friend."
Conner's eyes widened. Of course not! He had no feelings for her! Right? "I...uh...I..."
"You can tell me Conner. I just want to help you."
"I really...don't know. I get all...I don't know."
"When you don't know it usually means yes."
Perfect! "So what do I do?"
"Y-you're asking me for advice?"
"That's why you called isn't it?"
"Right. I talked to Faith about her. And if you really do have feelings for her...she said not to get your hopes up."
Conner's heart sank, "Why?"
"Faith said that Robby is very involved in the big fight. So involved she cuts herself off from the rest of the world. Faith is the only friend she has and she doesn't admit to it very often."
"I don't understand."
"She thinks that getting attached to people is a liability."
"But what's the point of saving the world if you aren't even going to live your life?"
"She lives on the world Conner. Not in it."
Conner didn't answer. She was such a nice person, anyone would want to be friends with her. How could someone so...
"Conner?" Angel interuptted his thoughts.
"I'm here."
"I'm sorry son, I had to warn you. I don't want to see you get hurt."
"I know Dad."
"You probably go to sleep."
"Yeah. Bye."
"Bye."
Conner hung up the phone, looked back at Robby and shook his head. Stupid to feel for a person that wouldn't feel back. He went up to his room and spent the rest of the night wondering...
