SUNNYDALE CRATER - 2103
Sarah is drinking coffee in the break room when Bernie comes up behind her.
BERNIE-
"Sarah....I can I see you for a moment...please?"
SARAH-
"Sure." Sarah walks with Bernie to his quarters. When she walks in, her mouth drops. Movie and music groups posters are eveywhere.
SARAH-
"Bernie...what is all this?" She stares at a Weezer poster.
BERNIE-
"Oh....this is my little hobby. I collect stuff from 1990 - 2010."
SARAH-
"Shiny. So, what's this about....and if you put on some romantic music, I'm out of here."
BERNIE-
"It's about this. (He switches out his computer, a report appears on the top of the desk) When we cloned the Scooby Gang, we encoded certain traits....like Slayers traits in Buffy and Faith, magics in Willow, things like that. Except for Dawn being the Key, and Oz being a werewolf....everyone who had supernatural powers was suppose to get them."
SARAH-
"What to you mean 'supposed to get them'?"
BERNIE-
"That's it. They didn't get them....at all. Look at this code." A series of numbers and letters appear at the top of the report.
SARAH-
"Who's code is that?"
BERNIE-
"That's it....nobody. It doesn't exist."
SARAH-
"This is getting more and more strange. Keep working on it." Sarah leaves and goes back to the interview room.
Faith Lehane paces the room in front of Sarah, making the scientist very nervous.
FAITH-
"So, let me get this straight. You guys copied us and this is 100 years in the future. All of the Scoobies punches out of a couple of kids...except me. I got all bouncey with an girl, and I killed Robin, who was the President."
SARAH-
"That's about it....." She is stopped when the last thing she sees is Faith right hand fist connecting to her face.
A few hours later, Sarah is sitting across from Oz. She has an ice pack on her left eye. She lowers the pack to reveal a black eye.
OZ-
"Nice shiner."
SARAH-
"Thanks....so, you understand what is happening?"
OZ-
"I'm a clone. Huh."
SARAH-
"Good news is...no wolf."
OZ-
"That is good." Maybe I can make it work with Willow now...the wolf is gone.
SARAH-
"Any questions?"
OZ-
"Yeah...why me? I mean, you said that the people who were there when the Hellmouth was cratered. I wasn't there...I was in Australia."
SARAH-
"Wait....you WEREN'T here a hundred years ago? I'll ask Angel about this."
In Bernie's quarters, he is working hard on trying to find out who has that code. Suddenly, a tight rope goes around his neck, and he is strangled. The killer leaves the room.
