“So how was your guys’ night?” Buffy asked as Wesley, Angel, and Spike walked into the house laughing.

“Very good, luv.” Spike said as he gave her a peck on the lips.

“Good to hear that, sweetie. Peter and Susan are upstairs sleeping and Connor and Jimmy are in the living room watching some kind of movie.” Buffy said as they started to walk towards the dining room.

“So what did you ladies do while we were out?” Angel asked smiling as he sat down at the table and Buffy poured everyone a cup of coffee.

“We’ll never tell.” Cordelia said giving Angel a kiss on the cheek as she came in.

“Should I be worried?” Spike teased while he looked lovingly at Buffy.

“No. So what did you guys do?” Buffy asked.

“Oh just went out and had a beer. Nothing real special.” Angel said knowing he would have a better chance at keeping his face neutral to emotion.

“Real good celebration. Imagine what you’ll do when you have a grandchild.” Buffy said sarcastically.

“Hey, we like mellow, there’s nothing wrong with that, pet.” Spike said defensively.

“I know just saying that I think you guys would do something more fun than just getting a drink.” Buffy said as she sipped her coffee.

“Whatever.” Spike said sipping his own coffee.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Buffy said a little heatedly.

“Nothing, just why can’t you believe us when we say that we just went out to get a beer.” Spike said trying to stay calm, but lost the battle of trying.

“We’ll be in the living room.” Angel said getting up, but neither Buffy nor Spike seemed to hear him. Cordelia, Wesley, and Fred followed him out into the living room.

“I want to but with you being so defensive and all I don’t know if I can.” Buffy said angrily.

“Well than maybe I should go out now and do something.” Spike snapped.

“Fine you go do that.” Buffy said angrily and Spike pushed his chair away and walked out the door, making sure he slammed it on his way out.

“You alright, Buffy?” Cordelia asked as she came into the kitchen.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine, Cordy, I just thing he needs to cool off. Make sure Angel doesn’t go after him, he needs to be alone.” Buffy said trying to smile.

“I’ll do that even though he’ll want to.” Cordelia said

“Spike can be so stubborn at times. I love him but he can be.” Buffy said as she got up to rinse out her and Spike’s cups.

“I know but he loves you and would never purposely do anything to hurt you.” Cordelia said

“I know, now go let Angel know he can’t go after him this time.” Buffy said and Cordelia went into the living room to tell him.

“Why can’t she just believe me? Yeah we lied to her but it’s not like I’m going to tell her what we really did.” Spike said as he took a swig of his beer.

“Girl troubles huh?” the bartender asked.

“Kind of. We got into a fight and well now here I am.” Spike said

“Break up with you?” he asked.

“No, it was just a fight. Told her I needed to get out. We’ll be fine, should probably apologize when I get back.” Spike said.

“One of those types.” The bartender said as he poured a drink for someone.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Spike asked a little angrily.

“Just means you’re one of those guys who does every little thing his woman tells him to.” The bartender said smiling. Spike was really starting to not like this guy.

“For your information, mate, it was my fault, I got defensive over nothing and lied to her. Told her the guys and I didn’t really do anything when we did, wasn’t anything terribly wrong but we still could’ve played the ladies card and said we wouldn’t tell.” Spike said getting angrier by the minute at the bartender.

“Some information, buster, you never say it’s the woman’s fault because if you do they’ll turn it around on you. It was probably her fault.” The bartender said and suddenly he found a fist in his face.

“You wanna fight then let’s take it outside.” The bartender said grinning a threatening grin.

“Fine.” Spike said and they headed outside with half the people in the bar coming out to watch. Spike had the upper hand for most of it and was keeping it up but then he got a mean punch in the stomach and while he was doubled over the bartender threw one at him. After the stomach he went for he face and then the stomach again.

“You still want to fight?” the bartender asks between gritted teeth.

“I stop the moment you take back what you said about my wife!” Spike yelled as he took another swing at the bartender.

“Your wife, huh, well she sounds great now….” The bartender was cut off by someone coming up behind him and tapping him on the shoulder.

“Mitch, do you want to keep your job here?” the guy asked

“Of course Willy.” Mitch said.

“Then I suggest you let the nice man go.” Willy said in a threatening voice and Mitch let go of Spike and went back into the bar.

“I’m sorry about that, sir. The drink is on the house.” Willy said giving Spike an apologetic smile.

“To problem and thanks.” Spike said and he was about to leave until Willy stopped him.

“She must be pretty special.” Willy said smiling.

“Excuse me.” Spike said confused.

“Well Mitch has a habit about talking bad about other guys girls and unfortunately not a lot of guys stand up for there girls, you did so she must be special.” Willy said still smiling.
“Yeah she’s special.” Spike said smiling and then got in his car to leave so he could get home to Buffy and tell how sorry he was.
