WHERE WE LEFT OFF. “What do you mean?” asked Riley.

“Did you know you had a tracking thingy in you?” asked Spike.

“No, I didn’t,” stated Riley bluntly shaking his head no.

“Well you do,” said Emma, “That’ s bleedin’, sodding sound, that’s going to drive me off the edge if it doesn’t stop.”

“We’re sure it’s tracking devise?” questioned Wesley.

“Whatever it is,” stated Emma, “It’s in him, inside his heart and it’s annoying.”

“Then we should get it out,” stated Wesley, “If something is in there, then, it’s not supposed to be, is it?”

“I don’t remember ever having surgery done on me,” said Riley, “How can they hear it?”

“Because Emma and Conner have extremely better hearing then any of us,” said Spike, he looked at Emma and Conner, “I think it’s like you’re blowing a dog whistle all over the place.”

Wesley was taking charge this time, “Alright, Emma and Conner needs some kind of ear plugs or something, Riley needs to have that taken out.”

“Bloody Hell, those buffoons could be here, any minute, tracker, tracking, finding us,” stated Spike making a point.

“We all know what a tracker is Spike,” growled Angel.

“We need to think fast, what can we do?” questioned Emma, she looked like the noise was agonizing. Conner did too.

Riley spoke, “We need to get it out of me.” Riley ran to Wesley’s weapons bag, pulled out a knife and went to cut his chest. Suddenly Emma grabbed the knife from his hands and threw it down.

“To many chances to die,” said Emma, she looked a little crazy.

“We need to get a doctor,” said Wesley, “Have the doctor then remove the tracker, whatever is inside him.”

“Conner and I can go find one,” said Emma.

“We’ll need to go somewhere, medical,” stated Angel.

“The student facilities,” said Wesley, “We can guard the place once we get Riley in there.”

“I don’t see why we don’t leave him here and take off for it,” stated Spike.

“Because, Riley is innocent,” said Angel, “They could do something to him for leaving, helping us, the enemy, Emma, Conner, can you sneak back onto the base?”

“Yes, why?” asked Emma.

“We can get the doctor that put the tracker in and you can get him to the hospital to take it out,” said Angel.

“Okay,” said Emma shaking her head yes.

Emma and Conner ran out of the room. “Now,” Angel took a breath, “Lets get Riley to the facility.”

“I’ll put a blocking charm around us,” stated Wesley, “We won’t have long though.”

“Spike,” ordered Angel, “Go get Riley his pants and shoes.”

“Fine,” sighed Spike.

THERE WAS ALREADY a van out, loaded with Special Ops to locate Riley. Find Riley, Find him, and Angel, which leads to Spike, Wesley, Emma and Conner. Wesley they didn’t need but they would just find him, then take him out to the desert and shoot him probably.

“We’ve lost track of Fin,” said the voice of a man, “He’s just suddenly disappeared.”

“That’s not good, you know how Standle will have our heads if we don’t find him,” said another.

“Then we’ll find him,” replied the first of the Ski mask wearing military men. The man looked at his scanner, like that of a submarine monitor. “They must know then that he has a tracker since the signal is blocked.”

“Either that or he’s dead,” replied Another man.

“No, Fin isn’t dead,” said Graham, “They wouldn’t just kill him. That’s not their way.”

The first one spoke, “We don’t really know what they’d do Sir.”

“Fin isn’t dead, now lets get him tracked,” said Graham.

NOBODY PAID ATTENTION to Emma and Conner walking in that place. Talk about going down hill. They were passed by all kinds of people. No one making any form of concern appear about them. Emma and Conner were just two military people in their civvies to them.

All doctors had their own office, that was just the truth. There was a hall of doctors in the underground base. Emma and Conner were relieved that the head aching beeping sound had gone away. That sound being lifted from their minds was an eye opening experience.

They didn’t know which doctor was which and didn’t have time to figure it out. Emma and Conner looked into the first office. They doctor sat behind his desk signing papers. He would work, looking pretty old, meant he’s been here awhile and probably knows what he’s doing.

Emma looked at the name tag on the office door, “Dr. Richards?”

The doctor looked up to the sound of his name, “Yes, um…how may I help you-” His words drifted, these 2 seemed familiar, pictures. Yes, he’d seen them in pictures. It was hitting him.

Conner closed the door behind them. “You’re going to be coming with us.”

“Nice to meet you,” said Dr. Richards.

“What makes you think that?” asked Emma.

“I’m going to be in charge of the two of yours, autopsy,” said The Doctor, proud, “Live, Autopsy. It’ll be amazing.”

“No,” stated Emma, “You’re going to come with us, Like a happy little doctor.”

“You’re going to take out someone’s tracker,” stated Conner.

“Tracker, no, I’m not in charge of the trackers, I haven’t put one in before or taken one out,” said The Doctor backing up.

Conner grabbed the Doctor quickly by the white coat and slammed his against his desk. The Dr. grasped the situation and was quite intimidated. “You’re coming with us.”

“We know you can do the job,” said Emma.

“Okay,” swallowed the Dr. Looking Conner in the eyes, the scrawny boy was a lot more threatening up close.

THE THREE OF THEM walked out of the office. The doctor was to lead the way. And if anything went wrong, he was going to see the light of ‘wrong.’

“Just act natural,” whispered Emma to the Doctor.

Conner walked up beside him, “If we get through this, you won’t die.”

The doctor just kept looking straight forward walking on towards the elevators. Not many people would be able to keep this kind of cool in a situation like this. Conner pushed the up button for the elevator. They waited a moment then the doors came opened.

The sudden-ness was un fazing for Conner. He just stood there, a gun to his head. He looked at the gun. Soldiers were starting to circle around them. Conner looked to the side of them then back at the gun.

“Back away from the elevator,” said the gun’s holder, just a normal military soldier, nothing great.

Conner slammed his hand into the soldier’s arm knocking the gun from him. Conner punched him in the head grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him in the ceiling. 2 more soldiers in the elevator. Then he leapt up and grabbed the ridge of the elevator opening swung his legs into the elevator and hit the two soldiers in the head knocking them down.

He swung out of the elevator as it closed and still holding onto the ridge flipped against the wall over the closing doors. Leapt off the wall and jumped over Emma landing in crouched position standing up quickly.

To keep the Dr. safe Emma threw down the doctor. Suddenly the soldiers started backing away. Slayers were coming into the game. No more guns.

Emma ran at one and jumped up leapt off her. The slayer’s ribs cracked. Emma had flipped off her and landed on her feet. Quickly jumped up in a spinning manner and kicked the one on her right down. Landed on her feet, one at her in front took a swing at her, Emma dodged the blow, once, twice.

Head butted the slayer. Emma jumped up and kicked the slayer in front of her down and back kicked the one behind her. She landed.

Conner punched one in the chest then kicked her down and elbowed the one in the face coming up behind him. A slayer came up to him from the front. Went to punch him and he grabbed her fist, then the other one. Jumped against her and threw her down. Landed on his feet jumped up and swiped one in the head.

Emma grabbed the doctor by the arm and picked the man up off the floor. Conner ran over to Emma. A slayer went to kick Emma in the head. Emma ducked out of the way, Conner grabbed the slayer by the leg and flipped her.

They went for the stairs, the elevator was closed and the soldiers would probably try to trap them in there anyway.

RILEY LAY waiting on the operating table, shirtless, seemed like he was kind of relaxing. Angel was sitting against a vacant wall not doing anything. Spike was looking at the tools inside of a cabinet. “Days coming,” sighed Spike, “I can sense it in my bones.”

“We can wait a little longer,” Angel looked to Wesley, “Right?”

“Not long but yes,” said Wesley.

“Day is out, we get ambushed, I’m headin’ for the high hills,” stated Spike, “Or underground, is more logical.”

Riley put his hands behind his head relaxing on the table, “Going to leave behind Emma.”

Spike looked at Riley, “I didn’t think about that, but she’s a good tracker, stuff like that.”

“Don’t you find that a little annoying?” asked Riley, looking up at the lights of the room, just talking, “Always going to be able to find you.”

Spike looked at Riley, he didn’t like where he was going with that, “No, I don’t believe I do.”

“You think she’ll follow you till the end of the world?” asked Riley, “I take she’s immortal. Follow you, till you, stake yourself.”

“You’re trying to get on my nerves, test me. Just because the last time we met I was wearing your girl,” stated Spike.

“I’m over that Spike, I’ve been married for awhile-” replied Riley.

“Marriage doesn’t always follow the heart,” said Spike.

“Sam is the one for me, always has been,” said Riley.

“I see,” said Spike.

“I’m just saying Spike-”

“You’re testing me, when you should be happy that I’m here you bleedin’ fool,” growled Spike.

“Tell me why I should be,” suggested Riley.

“I would of very well let you stick around in that store, let them do as they had wanted with you,” said Spike.

“Cause you’re what keeps me alive,” said Riley.

“You’ve got yourself a death wish Flipper,” replied Spike.

“Nothing a doctor can’t handle,” said Emma walking into the room with Conner, and the Dr. Richards.

“Is this the one that did the job?” asked Angel, finally intervening with the new conversation and not the heated one that might of ended with someone dead.

“I didn’t do the original job,” replied the doctor.

“But he can do open heart surgery?” questioned Wesley.

“I know how, but I’ve never done it before,” said the Doctor, Conner having him by the shoulder, “And the surgery could take hours, all depends on where the tracking devise is.”

“That’s fine,” said Riley, “As long as I can’t feel anything.”

“If you die there’s good possibilities we can bring you back,” said Emma. Emma looked at Spike, “Of course, I don’t really care.”

“I’ll do what I can,” said the Doctor, “As it seems, if I don’t I’m going to get to experience a mean killing.”

“Just start, tell us what you need,” said Angel.

“Time,” replied the doctor.

DAY SHINNED through to two main windows of the hall. Spike stood in front of the them. The light coming to his feet. Spike was close enough for the sun he didn’t stand in to give his skin a warming sensation that wasn’t as enjoyable as it sounds.

Conner stepped up to the side of Spike, “Hi.” Conner didn’t step into the light either.

Spike noticed that, “Are you mocking me with you steps?” questioned Spike.

“No,” said Conner.

“Really,” said Spike, shaking his head, “You do know you were one of the main reasons I left L.A.”

Conner looked to Spike, a bit confused. Spike looked at up at him, his face not angry. Not a harmful bone in his body kind of look. Conner spoke, “Sorry.”

Spike didn‘t reply for a moment, they were quiet, One waiting for the other to reply, “You two are like each other, greater beings. A lot in common, you and her, Vampire fathers, bad life, Quortoth. Things happened, that’s something I understand.”

“She was sad, she thought you had betrayed her,” replied Conner.

“But she understands that I didn’t, now,” Spike said, thinking the boy didn’t understand that. They were quiet for a long moment. Spike took a breath, “How many times have you?”

“Twice, before I lost my other memories and sometime last year,” said Conner, nervous, he didn’t like telling Spike that. Not many people would want to tell the father that.

“Who have you had sex with before?” asked Spike, he didn’t like asking the questions as much as Conner liked answering them, more even.

“Some woman named Trish and Cordelia, that’s all I know, Emma told me about Trish, so…” said Conner.

“You were going to marry that woman, Trish. Now that‘s why she stopped coming around,” stated Spike, “Then Cordelia, she was a cup cake.”

“I had a thing for older women at the time,” sighed Conner looking down, “And she was very, persuasive. There was lies told, she lied.”

“Now you’re robbing the bloody cradle,” said Spike bluntly, “No more older women, that lie. Juust the ones with mental baggage that can manhandle you.”

Conner looked at Spike quickly to defend Emma, “She makes me happy, I’m not going to use her,” growled Conner, “We make each other happy.”

“So you love her?” guessed Spike.

“Yes,” said Conner, making a point, “And I will keep her safe, make her happy, never hurt her for as long as I‘m alive. Cause I love her, more then anything, anything in existence.” His voice came to a growl, “The only way I’d hurt her is if something was wrong with me, or it’s not me at all.”

Spike looked up to him, “Standing up to me, think I can’t understand you?”

“No, I don’t, I don’t care if you don’t like me, I’m not going away,” said Conner.

“You’re a grown man, 20, she’s 17, you know, in this dimension, that’s illegal?” questioned Spike, “But of course you’re a man, with manly urges.”

“I don’t want anything from her,” said Conner, “Why are you asking these things?”

“Making sure that you can be trusted,” stated Spike.

“I said I loved her,” answered Conner.

“Good, I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Spike, “Cause, if you hurt her, I’ll kill you. And Yes, I know you’re the closest thing to invincible, but you hurt her. I’ll make you know what a demon is,” he changed his face, made it bumpy that vampire way, his speech became a growl, “I’ll kill you with every part of my being.”

Conner made his eyes go yellow, spoke, “If I hurt her, I’ll make myself let you kill me.”

Spike changed his face back, Conner changed his eyes back. Spike spoke, “Keep it that way, and we’ll be fine.”

RILEY’S SURGERY WAS DOING Pretty well. Everyone was on the watch though. No stone unchecked for soldiers. After awhile the government would be able to figure out where they went, this is the government, their supposed to have pretty good thinkers.

The Doctor was doing most of the work. Wesley was doing the helping. So far they hadn’t needed to worry. The operation was going well. Emma put her hands on her ears, “That beeping is on again.”

“Dr. we need to hurry this up,” said Wesley.

“I’m doing it as fast as I can, we need to be careful,” replied the Dr.

“I don’t think you should,” said Spike, “We only need to be careful about our own asses. Fin is going to call the Calvary on accident.”

“I think I see it,” said the Doctor.

“See Angel, even the kidnapped Doctor agrees with me-” stated Spike.

“No,” answered the Doctor, “The Tracking Devise.”

“Then get it out,” replied Spike.

Emma and Conner looked around above at the area where students watch surgeries. Then they looked down to Riley again. Slowly the doctor grabbed a the tweezer like instrument and went into the wound. Everyone watched and waited.

Slowly The Doctor pulled out the tracking devise. Emma put her hand over the wound and it healed, Wesley broke the tracking device. Everyone was on his feet.

There was the sound of guns cocking. Emma pulled her hand away quickly and pushed Spike down as they started shooting at the hostiles. The wound not fully healed on Riley. The doctor was shot down and killed.

Conner leapt up into the student area and jumped on one. Angel leapt up there as well. He grabbed the gun from one and threw it down and punched the soldier down. Angel was taking the bullets.

Riley was safe. Cloak figures started coming into the room. The bald demons threw off their hoods. Emma leapt over Riley and jumped up going to kick one in the face but, the demon removed a sword from his cloak quickly. And went to stab Emma.

Emma went backwards her shirt being cut across her stomach. Spike went at one. But was thrown into the student area.

Angel and Conner were fighting the troopers. Conner threw one into another. Leapt forward, grabbed that one by the neck broke it. One shot Conner from behind. Conner rolled over onto his back flipped up and spun around kicking the trooper in the head.

Conner elbowed the one behind him quickly then looked down to where Emma was, these demons were stronger then what they looked.

Emma was dodging blow from a sword, getting cut ever now and again. The demons went to cut Emma’s head off. The blade broke at Emma’s throat, Emma leapt forward jumped up and went to kick the demon in the face. The demon grabbed her leg.

Riley fell off the table unconscious as Emma was slammed against the table, denting it. Emma rolled off onto her feet. She was stabbed by one of the demons from behind.

Angel hit one of the soldiers over the head with his gun. Quickly Wesley flew into the student area and onto Angel, knocking him off his feet. Angel and Wesley helped each other up, Angel took bullets for Wesley.

He ran at the shooter and kicked the gun from the soldiers hands punched him in the face, grabbed him by the head and threw him into the wall. Wesley and another soldier were in a fist fight.

Conner had leapt down for Emma. Grabbed the demon by the head and snapped it’s neck, his eyes yellow with anger. Emma hit the wall behind her falling backwards as the wound started healing. Another demon came at her and went to jab his sword into her head.

She rolled out of the way, then again as the sword went at her. Emma flipped forward and kicked the sword from his hands, went to punch the demon and the demon grabbed her hand and threw her into the wall. The Tiles on the walls fell off the wall under her as she fell onto her hands.

Conner was punched in the face by one of the demons, once twice. Then one twirled up and kicked him in the face. Conner fell against the wall.

There was the sound of fire. Riley started shooting the demon, his wound healed enough for him to operate correctly. Conner grabbed a sword from the ground and leapt at the demon getting bullet blows as it fell backwards. Conner quickly flipped through the air blood on him and sliced through the demon.

Conner was then grabbed from behind and thrown with amazing strength through the wall in front of him. Through it, and the next room. And out a window.

Angel leapt down from the student area. Angel leapt at the demons, he was thrown down the way Spike had. Spike was going back into battle for surely. Riley was dizzy. His chest bloody.

Riley fell backwards on the wall behind him and passed out slowly. Spike went to punch one, Emma leapt in front of Spike quickly, dizzily as a sword went through her and into Spike. But was quickly pulled out. Emma had tried to guard Spike.

Wesley started Firing a gun at the demons went One of the demons waved his hand and Wesley’s bullets went into Wesley’s chest and Wesley was magically thrown through a wall.

More demons were coming, they wouldn’t go away.

Conner helped Angel up off the ground, Angel looked up at Conner. Surprised, but there really was now time for thinking surprised.

A demon waved his hand and Conner and Angel were thrown through a wall. Waved his hand and Emma trying to recuperate, went through a wall with Spike. Things being trashed all around them.

CONNER AND ANGEL WE’RE THROWN OUTSIDE. Thrown onto the grass outside of the building. Conner saw Angle burning, steaming trying to run for something to shade him. Conner ran at Angel and grabbed him, his eyes still yellow.

Angel stopped burning suddenly. Conner had him by the forearm, skin to skin. Angel looked up at Conner. Emma and Spike were helping Wesley walk/run out. Wesley beaten up badly. They had to Run. Angel and Conner stood up quickly and took off with them.

THE MALL WASN’T OPENED. Most malls were opened on Sundays, but this one wasn’t, fortunately. They got back to the store quickly. No more windows, burning. Chasing by the demons. When they got inside. Angel pulled down the cage like wall that was usually pulled down at closing time.

Angel ran to the back of the store where the others were. The slayers, still unconscious. They didn’t make in inclination of leaving Riley. Emma and Conner were beaten badly, Angel, Spike, beaten badly. Angel was burnt, somewhat. The smell of blood was thick in the room. They were aching, throbbing etc. “I’ve never seen those before,” groaned Conner standing against a wall catching his breath.

“They were bloody strong,” stated Spike laying out on the floor.

Wesley laid against a wall, not moving, not wanted to hurt. Bullet wounds weren’t a figure of enjoyment. Conner gasped and the bullets started dropping out of him immediately. He started healing, which seemed painful for him. His eyes yellow.

“I’ve got a piece of a sword in me,” said Emma putting her fingers in her stomach wound and her eyes went yellow immediately, Bullets dropping out of her as she groaned with pain pulling a sharp piece of metal out of her.

Conner was fully healed. Emma threw down the piece of the sword, then healed all the way. Conner looked at her concerned. Emma looked back, a feeling of concern from him. Emma stood up straight, “I’m fine,” she sighed.

CASUALTIES LITERED THE ROOM. One demon dead, the rest where humans. Riley wasn’t feeling very well, he opened his eyes slowly, feeling the wet drying blood on his chest. Looking down at it, then he looked up and saw the man, Standle looking down at him.

“Fin,” said Standle, “Look what you got yourself into.” Riley just looked at him, swallowed a little, but didn’t take his eyes from him. The demons where cloaked again. Standle looked from the dead demon back to Riley, “Killed one of my valuable demons, and we lost one of the key characters, to all my plans.”

Riley, sweating, just looked him in the eyes. He swallowed painfully, then spoke, “You’re just a crazy man.”

“No, I’m a commander, I take this job, and I work it,” laughed Standle, “For I’ve seen the future, and this world is in ruins, but we will not bow down to evil.”

“That was just a dream, the 1st isn’t active anymore,” replied Riley.

“I never said I cared about the 1st, at least not anymore, I’ve moved above that, now, we’ll get you stitched up. Then, you’ll tell us where they’re hiding out, or there will be hell.”

“You’re going to fail,” groaned Riley.

“You don’t know me fin, you must know, that is the contrary, out of the question. I will prevail, and the victory will be sweet,” answered Standle. A evil grin spread across Standle’s face.

“I won’t tell you anything,” growled Riley.

“We’ll see about that,” smiled Standle.

EVERYONE WAS HEALED. Kind of sleepy, hungry, but healed. “We’ve left Riley in there.”

“We need to stop caring about Fin,” growled Spike, “The only thing he’s done when he was hear is cause me trouble.”

“No, he’s given us information,” said Wesley.

“But is it Pivotal, I don’t think so, now we just know that Standle is ruthless and crazy,” said Spike.

“He’s not going to stop till he has what he wants,” said Emma, “That’s a sodding given.”

“Us,” sighed Conner.

“We have a head up on this-” said Angel.

“Are you blind?” asked Spike, “Did you see what those demons did to us?”

“We need to research those demons,” answered Wesley, “Before we end up in battle with them again.”

“That’s a good idea,” said Emma, “We don’t have any books.”

“We haven’t met Standle, so we can’t kill him either,” replied Spike, “All kinds of guarded.”

“We need to show him, we shouldn’t be messed with,” stated Emma.

“I don’t think he’ll care,” replied Wesley, “He didn’t care what we were going to do with these slayers.”

“What about trying to contact his superiors,” replied Conner, “You know, making them stop him.”

“Would they listen to us?” asked Emma.

“The might,” replied Wesley.

“They might change their minds when they find out what Emma and Conner are,” replied Spike, “Start agreeing with Standle.”

“They wouldn’t drop their morals like that,” replied Wesley.

“Wesley’s right,” replied Angel, “And so is Emma. We need to show Standle, we shouldn’t be toyed with.” Angel looked at the sleeping slayers, “We need some kind of way to show them.”

“With the slayers?” asked Conner.

“Maybe,” replied Angel, “We need to find out what connections this base, these men have with the outside world. We need to go back to the hotel.”

“Why, just for the books, or is that going to base of operation?” asked Spike, “Cause, hmm…won’t they be there?” his voice had been sarcastic.

“Not necessarily,” replied Angel, “They might think that we’ll just move on to the next place, not go back. Stay anywhere but there.”

RILEY WAS PUT BACK IN THAT ROOM. No Rimfauld though the keep the door unlocked. Riley was bandage no, cleaned up. Standle walked into the room, “So where are they?”

Riley just looked at him, his hair went, “I’m still trying to forgive you for washing me with a pressure hose.”

“Well, you won’t have to worry about growing hair on your chest,” laughed Standle, “Might of just, blew that away.”

“Ha, ha,” said Riley, “Really funny.”

“Just be happy we let you keep the hair on your head,” laughed Standle, “But of course, if you don’t tell me what I want, we might take that away from you.”

“I won’t tell you anything, what you’re doing, isn’t smart,” replied Riley.

“No, it’s how it works,” growled Standle, “You tell me I want, and how about this, I don’t kill you, cause, I’m already angry from you running off. Which, won’t bloody happen again.”

“No, you’re doing something wrong, they weren’t bothering anything, they are not part of a trigger, and their not yours to use,” said Riley, “And neither am I so I don’t have to answer you.”

Standle went up to Riley and punched him in the face, “Remember Rimfauld, I shot him in the head,” Standle grabbed Riley’s hair with his large hand and shoved him against the wall behind him, “I can shoot you too.”

“No, you wouldn’t, I know too much,” answered Riley.

Standle kicked Riley in the stomach then punched him in the face. Riley went down on his knees coughing from the blow, no one hits anyone who’s had a surgery of the heart. Standle kicked him in the face, “From what you’re telling me, you’ve decided to play this the hard way.”

“Of course,” replied Riley laying back against the wall, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“You seem to be in agreement, that’s what you need,” stated Standle, “You will tell me what I want.”

IT WAS WESLEY’S JOB, to look up the demons, find out what they were, how to kill them. He felt like they needed to know so bad he was on to using the internet to find the beasts. Not his dusty books. Angel looked at Wesley, his coat off, a little more relaxed faced, “This is different.”

“What?” questioned Wesley looking at Angel a bit concerned.

“You’re not using the books?” asked Angel.

“I, the books made me angry,” stated Wesley turning back to the computer to search the Demon Data base.

“Will such a relationship mend?” Angel replied, a smudge of sarcasm in his voice.

“I’m sure, after many hours of apologies,” sighed Wesley.

“Do you have any leads?” questioned Angel.

“If only I did,” stated Wesley, “I’m trying the best I can, and one really knows that when-”

“You’re resorting to the internet, and not your books,” said Angel.

“That and that I’ve been living off coffee,” replied Wesley, “And the coffee isn’t from the store, it’s the horrid stuff I make.”

Angel smiled, “This job is hard, it has it’s hard days. Those things, might com after us Wes, and we really need to know, what they are, what they can do, and most of all, how we kill them.”

“I’m on it Angel,” replied Wesley.

“Good,” said Angel, he stepped out into the Lobby, “Keep that up for us.”

Wesley watched Angel step out into the main part of the Lobby. Emma came down the stairs from the rooms. She wore black jeans, boots, and a white long sleeve shirt.

Conner came down the opposite stairs, wearing something different, A green long sleeve shirt with a black button up shirt over it. And a pair of dark blue jeans. “I looked around the hotel, and no humming sounds, so they didn’t bug the place.”

“Bug?” asked Emma.

“Put Cameras around,” answered Angel.

“Oh, Bugged,” stated Emma.

“Did you forget everything you saw in my head?” asked Spike sitting on the purple seat, “You, know, back when you had that touchy download thing.”

“No,” stated Emma, “I just pick up words, not many, names, stuff like that.”

“Names?” asked Angel, “Just random words?”

“Yeah, and for some reason since I touched Angel, I remember the lyrics every Barry Manilow song,” she looked down at the floor confused, “I don’t know who he is.”

Spike looked at Angel, “Great.”

“We’re just going to forget Barry Manilow for right,” replied Angel.

“And do something,” suggested Emma, “Got any suggestions?”

“No, we don’t know anything about the demons, and Standle could be doing who knows what to that Riley,” replied Angel.

“I don’t see why we want to save him so bad?” growled Spike, “Every chance he gets, he’s bad talkin’ me. Or telling me that should stake myself, etc. bloody etc. I’m sick of his wise cracks.”

“He’s innocent,” said Angel.

“Innocent, I can tell you a bunch stories and a half about how, not innocent he is, plus,” scoffed Spike, “I wouldn’t care if he was the Mother Teresa herself.”

“Of course you wouldn’t Spike,” said Angel calmly, “You’re a vicious vampire.”

“Look who’s talkin’,” replied Spike.

“We should kidnap them,” sighed Emma.

“What?” asked Angel, Angel turned towards Emma, “Kidnap Riley?”

“No,” said Emma, “That’d be takin’ a chance,” she put her hands in her pockets, “I think we should kidnap his middle men, or, those guys Fin mentioned, Garfield, and the other ones.”

“They probably will be just as guarded,” said Angel.

“Good Idea though,” said Spike.

“Well, in all my years, I’ve noticed,” she looked up more confident, “People sleep. So I’m thinking, maybe these guys have off hours, and or families waiting in a nice home for them.”

“Would we be kidnapping their families too?” asked Angel.

“No, Garfield, and the others, they go home, we go to their house and kidnap them,” stated Emma.

“We have to figure out when they go home,” said Spike.

“Then, we find out, look there families up in that magic book with all those numbers for the phone,” Emma replied, She opened her eyes wide, “That book isn’t magic is it?”

“No, just regular book,” said Angel, “But we should do that, they have to live in this area.”

“Can’t just go get a helicopter ride every day of the week to go to work, especially with these gas prices,” said Emma.

“You don’t know the currency is,” said Angel, “And how can you know about the gas prices and not a phone book?”

Emma shrugged her shoulders.

RILEY WAS LEFT, sitting, beaten. Tired, and hungry. His face was warm from the blood that laid on it, his lips were split, throbbing. And so on.

“No you want to start talking?” questioned Standle, sitting in front of Riley in a metal chair.

Riley looked up at him, “No.”

“Really,” Standle took a breath, “You want more torture.”

“You I’m not at the Holiday Inn?” asked Riley, “No wonder I didn’t get my complementary breakfast.”

“Funny, real funny,” stated Standle.

“You know what?” groaned Riley.

“What, you’re going to tell me something?” asked Standle.

“I’ll be Frank,” Riley sat up, his insides hurt, “You’ve got nothing on that little girl.” His eyes got big, “Now she was scary.”

“Really, well,” scoffed Standle, quickly he punched Riley in the face, “I don’t give a damn, you’ve got information.”

“It’s probably no use to you anymore, Angel knows that,” he licked his mouth, “That he shouldn’t be there anymore.”

“So where would he go?” asked Standle.

“I don’t know, I myself, never liked the guy,” replied Riley.

“So you’re worthless to me?” questioned Standle, agitated. Riley shrugged his shoulders, “You know people like you make me sick.”

“Thanks,” replied Riley, “Ditto.”

Standle kicked him in the chest and Riley fell down on his back. “You know, that kind of attitude won’t get you anywhere.”

“I’ve heard that from you 3 times this morning,” answered Riley.

Standle quickly drew his gun, he was going to shoot Riley. Standle’s breathing hard, his finger on the trigger, he was holding back. Riley just looked back at him, not moving, not acting like he cared about the gun at his head.

He gripped the gun in his hand then put it back in it’s holster. He took a breath and started counting backwards, “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.”

9:00 P.M. Garfield was getting ready to head back to the base. He kissed his wife’s forehead then grabbed his military vest out of the closet and went out of the doorway into the hall. Closing the door behind him.

Garfield walked down the stairs. He went into his kitchen to grabbed his mug. The phone rang, Garfield picked it up quickly, “Why the hell are you calling this time of night?” Garfield looked out the window, “Yes, I’m coming in Standle, don’t worry. So you’re sending a man here?”

There was a knock at the door, a special knock. “Oh, code knock, alright,” replied Garfield, The person outside did a ‘shave and a hair cut’ knock. “Alright,” come in.

Garfield went to the door and opened it. Spike was standing at the other side with a cell phone. Garfield quickly grabbed for the gun in it’s holster. Spike kicked the gun from Garfield’s hand pulled out a white piece of cloth and inhumanly got behind Garfield.

The victim struggled as Spike held the Chloroform wet cloth was laid on his mouth. Slowly the man passed out in Spike’s arms. Spike dragged Garfield out of the house and closed the door behind him.

EMMA LEAPT over the fence of a nice, fancy house. Owned by Johnson. Johnson had a large pull in the back yard and a large porch. Looked like a house from Hollywood.

She sniffed the air and a couple of guard dogs came out of nowhere. Emma made her eyes turn yellow before the dogs went at her, the dogs stopped in mid track. Emma let a sly, low growl come from her and the dogs turned from her and walked off.

Emma’s eyes turned back and she ran towards the porch. Emma leapt over the rose bushes and up to the door, soundless.

Johnson was inside, drinking rum. Laying down in his lazy boy. Who’d of thought, in his spare time he was laying around getting drunk.

The back door was slowly picked open. She quietly opened the door and walked in closing the door behind her. She edged to the Lazy boy in the glass house. Went up behind it, he had no idea she was behind him.

Emma jabbed her hand at his neck inhumanly quick. He looked up shaking, his eyes rolled back in their sockets and he passed out. She walked around to the front of the chair and pulled him up from the seat and put him over her shoulder and she carried him out of there.

GIBSON WAS Driving down the street, going to the base. Or, the place that the base was under. A hiding spot. Driving on the Hwy. Suddenly Something dented his car and he swerved off the road and hit a brick wall. Gibson looked behind him and at the dent, “What the hell.”

Suddenly Angel’s hand went through Gibson’s window and pulled Gibson out of the vehicle. Gibson rolled on the road. Gibson tried to get up and run.

Conner walked towards him and spun around and hit him in the head so hard that he was knocked out unconscious.

“Did pretty good,” said Angel.

“All about where you hit them in the head,” said Conner looking at the unconscious Gibson.

“Good work though,” replied Angel going towards Gibson.

“Whatever,” answered Conner picking up Gibson and throwing him over his shoulder.

WESLEY WAS SETTING UP something in the Lobby. Setting stone out in a circle. “What are you doing?” asked Emma coming down from upstairs watching Wesley.

“My job,” replied Wesley.

“Your job, which is?” asked Emma.

“Summoning those demons,” replied Wesley.

“You sure that’s the best idea?” questioned Emma.

“Yes,” replied Wesley, “That’s why we summon each one that Standle has, one at a time.”

Angel and Conner came down from upstairs, “Spike said he’ll keep watch on the hostages.”

“Slayers and Military men,” asked Emma.

“Yes,” replied Conner.

“What is Wesley doing?” asked Angel.

“He’s going to summon the demons that kicked our asses,” replied Emma.

Wesley started throwing a kind of dust into the circle, “One at a time, I think we can take one at a time.”

“There was three of them,” said Emma, “So, how do we kill them. Cause I sure hope it’s not with sweetness or we’re going to be plastered on the walls.”

“Don’t worry,” said Wesley, “They’re killed by removal of the skin on their face.”

“Then we’ve got four,” replied Conner, “I didn’t kill one.”

“Nothing you guys can’t handle,” answered Wesley grabbing a lit candle off the counter, Wesley walked around the circle. Acting like a man that knew what he was doing. Then he blew out the candle.

The dust started stirring in the circle. Emma, Angel, and Conner backed away from the circle a little. The demon, cloaked appeared in the circle. “he’s a lot taller than he was when we first met.”

The demon was 7 foot in fact. The demon pulled his cloak off his head, and drew his sword. Conner and Emma’s eyes went yellow.

The demon went for Angel, 7 feet of him. Took a swipe at Angel, Angel ducked out of the way, then went to kick it off it’s feet. Angel’s leg went under the cloak, but nothing tripped the demon. He rolled to his feet quite surprised.

Angel backed up into the purple thing dodging swiped from the sword. Conner leapt at the demon and grabbed it by the head and flung it down on ground with all the strength he had in him.

The demon threw his hand back and Conner went into the Lobby doors. The demon stood up and went to stab Emma in the chest and Emma hit the sword braking the blade with her hand. Emma went to punch the demon in the face but her fist were caught and she was tossed onto the purple thing.

Angel leapt up to kick the demon down. Angel’s leg was grabbed and Angel was thrown into a hall by the demon.

Conner came back through the doors of the lobby like a monster, he leapt up at the demon and kicked him in the head. The demon grabbed Conner by the throat and held him off the ground with it’s long nail, black and white hand. Making a shrieking sound.

The demon’s head had been dented by the blow. Angel went to stab the demon but the sword went right through, nothing. Angel pulled the sword out, “What the hell?!” The demon through Conner into Angel.

They flew into the stairs. Emma grabbed it’s cloak and quickly picked up a piece of the sword and stabbed it up into the demon. The demon shrieked. Angel jumped up and punched the demon as Emma stabbed the sword harder into the demon.

Angel kicked the demon in the head. Conner threw the demon down and did the technique the do to brake a neck.

“You’ve knocked it out,” said Wesley, “Now you’ve thirty minutes to strip it’s skin off it’s head.”

“Crap,” sighed Emma.

Angel pulled up the cloak, there were legs under it now. The cloak was tied either, the feet were ugly, but normal feet. For a demon.

SPIKE GOT TO REMEMBER THE GOOD OLE DAYS. Torture and sharp objects. He wasn’t the one getting tortured, doing the torturing. “I must got a little bit of the evils in me, cause, I’m not feeling any remorse for this.”

“Probably because you’re doing this for saving us,” replied Emma, standing behind Spike as Spike examined the pieces of glass on the tables.

“So how was your day?” asked Spike, he kissed Emma’s cheek, “So far, my day, great.”

“I helped take the skin off 4 demons’ heads,” stated Emma.

“Well,” Spike didn’t know what to reply to that, just a normal day on the job. Spike looked at the gagged Gibson, the gagged Garfield and Johnson. The were bloody, beaten. Not doing too good.

It hit her, “This makes you happy?” questioned Emma, not sure, what to think.

Spike looked at her, “Yeah, sort of, good ole days.”

Emma looked at him disturbed. Spike then turned towards her, “Emma, I didn’t mean anything.”

“This makes you happy?” she growled, “That’s just, disgusting.”

“Starting to act like Buffy,” replied Spike, “I’m sorry.”

“You really are happy doing this?” she asked.

Spike grabbed Emma by the shoulders and walked her out of the room closing the door behind her. They stood in the vacant hall. Emma took her hands from Spike, “So what I did most of my life, was enjoyment?”

“No, Emma, you know I didn’t mean that,” said Spike.

“But it’s true, you enjoy that,” said Emma.

Spike put his hand on the back of her head stroking her hair, “It’s pointless to fight about that.”

“You don’t like it?” asked Emma, “That would just be a lie.”

“Emma, I’m a demon,” said Spike, “The demon, stuff just, doesn’t leave the demon, no matter how much I don’t want to say that.”

“So it’s just the demon?” asked Emma, her eyes were beginning to tear.

“Oh don’t cry,” pleaded Spike, Spike wanted to see her as a child.

“I used to torture, get tortured, I did it because I had to, not that I enjoyed it,” said Emma, “I never enjoyed it.”

“You don’t, I’ll stop,” replied Spike, “I will.”

Emma looked down, Spike hugged her and stroked her soft hair. Emma didn’t cry, just let him hug her.

ANGEL AND WESLEY WERE IN THE LOBBY. Angel was drawing on a map. “We’ll do it in the day time.”

“Day Time?” asked Wesley, “Are you sure?”

“Emma and Conner can do it, that’s a job, I know they can handle,” stated Angel.

“So it’s done during the day,” replied Wesley, “Do they need weapons?”

“No, we’ll have a van for the job, put all the slayers, etc. Inside, cram them in there, You can do the driving,” replied Angel.

DAY. Wesley drove up the side of a park train in a van. The van stopped. Emma and Conner got out of the front passenger seat and went to the train car. They broke the chains on the car and pulled the doors open. The man Angel knew that told him about the weapons had cleaned out the weapons for them.

Emma went over to the van and opened the van door. The slayers were inside, all gagged, the soldiers gagged. Everyone looked like something had hurt them. Tortured a like. “Show them to mess with us,” Emma then made a devilish grin appear upon her face, “Right?”

Conner stepped up next to Emma and they started pulling the captives out one at a time and putting them into the train. Emma did what she knew best. Tied up each girl by the hands, by the legs, tapped their mouths. Then tied them to the floor of the train on their stomachs.

Same with the commander men. Then brought in the demon dead. The bodies were already started to stink, and the eyes sockets of the demons would start oozing in no time. That was the bodies do. Emma grabbed a can of spray paint out of the van, held it in her left hand and started writing something on the people.

Emma wrote:
WE’LL NOT BE CAPTURED.

Wrote it in bright orange. “Come on, lets go.” Said Wesley seeing what they’d done.

“I hope not to ever do this again,” said Emma, Conner and her closed the train doors and fixed the chain. Not long till someone would notice them.

“Me too,” said Conner.

“These people are going to be very distraught when Standle sees them,” replied Emma, “But Lets go.”

Emma and Conner got into the back of the van and Wesley drove off the black vehicle.

NIGHT. Standle was called to the loading area. Where the Trains pulled in, “Good god, what’s that horrid smell?”

“Sir,” replied a soldier, “It’s from Angel and his people.”

“The Hostiles yes,” answered Standle, “What-” his words were halted by the realization of what was going on in the train car. The Slayers were being untied, the generals were, the dead bodies were being gotten rid off at that time. “What happened here, what was painted on the?”

“We’ll not be captured,” replied the soldier.

“Captured?” asked Standle, like he was amused, “Really, I’ve got people throwing up on themselves in there. And they think they’re not going to be captured. That’s one thing Angel and his gang don’t understand, is that I’m what makes the light and the day for them. Go to the hotel, make sure they’re not there.”

“Sir, we’ve gotten higher orders,” answered the soldier, “I’m sorry to say it, but you’ve been suspended till further notice and are to return to base to talk with General Rothman.”

“What?!” demanded Standle, “That can’t be, I’m the best thing for the damned place, this damned earth. Doesn’t anyone understand?!”

“Sir, we understand, and they’d like to see you, urgently,” replied the soldier.

Drawing attention, do so, Standle pulled his gun out on the soldier and shot him in the head quickly. Everyone that looked at him. Standle wiped his nose, “10, 9, 8...” he took an angry breath, “7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,…” he took another breath, “1.”

Standle went towards the hummer he’d parked over the hill and got in. He started it and sped off. The soldiers went back to their duty.

RILEY WAS IN THE DARK. He didn’t know where he’d been really, he’d been there so long. He could hear anything, he was too weak to stand up. Or want to stand up. Suddenly the door of the black room was pulled open.

Riley shot into a Corner, the sun hurt his eyes, it wasn’t the sun, just the lights of the science area, holding area. Standle stood at the door way.

“Fine,” growled Standle, “You’re coming with me.” He had his gun aimed at the weak man.

“Where?” asked Riley standing up slowly, weakly.

“To the desert,” growled Standle.

“Why?” asked Riley.

Standle grabbed Riley’s arm, “You’ll find out when we get there.”

THEY SAT IN THE LOBBY. Emma sat on the purple seat, “What now, do we just wait till they come and get us or something?”

“We are going to wait till there’s some kind of sign that we’re going to be safe,” replied Wesley.

“Which, is that really the safest thing?” asked Emma.

“It’ll work for now,” replied Angel.

“We’ve been waiting around here for over six hrs. It’s about bleeding time the try to pull something,” answered Spike.

“We want them, or don’t want them to pull something?” asked Conner, “I favor, just being left alone.”

“We all favor that,” said Angel.

“I don’t believe that Standle will just stop,” stated Wesley coming out from behind the counter, “We should probably brace for the worst.”

“Sit around, and wait for it all to bite us in the ass,” Emma spoke bluntly.

“Exactly,” replied Spike.

“What do you expect us to do?” asked Angel, “Go and hunt down the answers, kidnap someone.”

Conner sat up straight, “We’re not going to kidnap anyone. Just stop Standle.”

“Then what?” asked Angel.

“Kill him maybe?” asked Emma.

Angel looked at Emma. Suddenly Emma and Conner looked around the room. Emma smiled, she looked at Angel, “I think it’s come to bite us in the ass.”

“Get weapons,” replied Angel.

“No doubt, they probably have brought those demons with them,” answered Angel.

Wesley and Spike went to weapons cabinet, Spike threw Emma a sword. Conner caught an axe from Wes. Angel took a sword in hand. Emma swung the sword around as a demon suddenly came up behind her, out of nowhere.

She clashed swords with the beast. The demon jumped over her and went to stab her. Emma clashed swords with him again jumping up and swirling through the air cutting the demon’s head off.

One grabbed Angel by the neck and bent Angel down over the counter choking him. Not in a air kind of choking him. Angel started convulsing. Conner ran at the demon and jumped up to kick it’s head off. Conner going to kick him.

The demon let go of Angel with in the second Conner would hit him in the head. The demon grabbed Conner by the leg and tossed him in the wall on his left, on his right. Conner fell onto the counter and onto the floor.

Spike was sword fighting with one. The demon went cut Spike’s he’d off, Spike ducked out of the way, but his throat was cut. Spike fell back, he grabbed his throat and rolled onto his feet. Slayers entered the battle as well.

One punched Spike in the face, grabbed a stake from her jacket and went to stake him. Emma out of nowhere grabbed the slayer’s hand snapped it back, bent the slayer’s arm behind her. Emma’s eyes were yellow. Bent back the arm so fast and hard the slayer started coughing. She grabbed the slayer by the hair and threw her into the wall on their right.

The slayer was knocked unconscious. Conner was coughing blood. He stood up, a demon stabbed him in the back then twisted the sword, he screeched with laughter, hanging his long snake like tongue out with pride. Angel stabbed upwards into the Demon. It’s laughter changed to pain screeches.

Angel was thrown down by a slayer and punched in the face. Conner pulled the sword out of him through the front, quickly. Jumped back onto his feet and went at the slayer.

She punched Angel again. Angel pushed her off him then punched her across the face, One grabbed him from behind. Conner’s eyes went yellow as his hands healed and his chest wound did the same. [His hand had previously grabbed a sword blade.]

Conner kicked the slayer holding Angel. In the back of the head so hard the blood from her head blow fell to the floor. A slayer went to grab Conner from behind. Conner ducked out of the, went down and under her. Behind her she spun around to get him and he swiped her in the face.

A demon slammed it’s large hand into Conner’s chest, pulled it out, jabbed him in the throat. Conner backed away holding his throat. The demon jabbed his hand into Conner’s chest. Grabbed Conner by the blood throat and tossed Conner into the wall. The wall material dented. Conner skid down the wall, blood smearing down the wall.

“CONNER!” screamed Emma.

Emma leaped at Conner. Tears going down her face. Emma’s eyes still yellow, Emma was thrown from Conner. Emma leapt up off the wall and kicked the slayer in the head so hard that the demon flew into the wall next to her and her skull was crushed in.

Emma landed on the floor. She flipped up on one of her hands and kicked another in the head. She leapt up onto her feet ducked a blow, one two, grabbed the slayer by the arm. Then tossed the slayer up holding her arm then threw her down. The slayer’s bone cracked from the blow.

Spike was thrown into a wall, mystically. Spike was badly bleeding. Coughing blood and all. A demon raised his sword above his head to cut it off.

Angel was thrown into a wall. Knocked unconscious. Emma ripped off a demon’s head with her bare hands. Emma leapt over the demon. The demon swung the sword from Spike’s head to Emma and stabbed her in the stomach. And threw her to the ground.

Spike slowly passed out. Wesley had been knocked unconscious after some time. Weapons lay out on the floor. Emma broke the sword. She went to pull the sword from her. Emma’s skin started to cut suddenly. Blood splattered from her as if the wounds on her were being caused by bullets.

Emma passed out. Conner was in the same condition, bullet holes, but there wasn’t any guns shooting.

THE 5 OF THEM, they laid out on metal tables, like that of a morgue. They were beaten, bloody, unconscious. Conner’s eyes opened slowly he started convulsing. His eyes were still yellow. The bullets that weren’t shot, fell out on the table.

Conner fell off the side of the metal table. Gasping for air he began to heal. Emma’s yellow eyes quickly opened and she started gasping and convulsing, Conner still moaning and gasping in pain on the floor. Emma still convulsing pulled out a piece of sword from inside her.

Conner took a deep breath and sat up off the floor. Emma healed like him, the bullets dropping to the floor stood up off the table. Her white long sleeve shirt was bloodless, [she hadn’t changed her clothes since the last time I told what they looked like. Neither had Conner.] They were both bloodless.

Emma went over to Spike and put her hand over his head. His eyes opened quickly and hers reversed. His wounds healed. She took her hand from him and sat up. They were undoubtedly in a military holding place. Conner took care of Wesley, Emma took care of Angel.

They looked around the room. Camera, mirror and all, they were defiantly being watched. Conner and Emma looked at the mirror, “I hear you breathing,” stated Emma.

“Standle?” asked Spike looking to the mirror.

“Never heard him breath,” replied Conner.

“Not the ones we tortured though,” stated Emma.

“8 people,” said Conner.

The glass became, un-reflective. There stood 8 men. They hadn’t met any of them. Spike went towards the mirror, “We’re not you’re lab rats.”

“We’re very sorry for what has happened,” replied a deep voice, no doubt the leader, oldest of the bunch, “I’m from the pentagon, it seems we’ve a major misunderstanding.”

“Really?” asked Emma sarcastically.

Angel stepped forward, “We’re not going to be held here, we are not going to subjected to tests whatever you people want.”

“Standle did this on his own accord, we need not to become hostile of any kind,” answered the man.

“Hostile, maybe we do?” stated Spike.

“No, you’re not going to be held here, you’ll be aloud to leave, don’t worry. But we do wonder, have you any inclination where Standle might have taken Riley Fin?” replied The Man.

“No,” said Angel, “Why?”

“We may have with good authority that, Standle will take Riley Fin out to the desert and shoot him,” answered the man.

“Why, is that ‘Standle Protocol?’” asked Emma.

“Well, he does do it a lot,” the Man said bluntly.

“We can’t help you there,” said Wesley.

“We should,” retorted Angel, “Help Riley Fin.”

“We can’t just go into the bleedin’ desert,” stated Spike.

“We can,” said Emma, “If Angel wants to save Riley so, track his smell.”

“In daylight?” asked Spike.

“Yes,” said Angel, “Standle will kill him.”

DAY WAS A PROBLEM. Often times, Day, desert, hottest of all places as well. Blood covered Riley rolled down the hot, sand hill and landed face forward. Hot, sweaty, pain went through him.

Standle walked down towards him, Riley started trying to get up. Standle kicked him in the stomach, grabbed him by the hair.

“We try to make the world good, and all that’s in it,” growled Standle, he pulled out his gun and put it to Riley’s head. “But Fin you know why that can’t happen?”

Riley swallowed feeling the barrel on the back of his head, then spoke, “You like a nice bad boy?”

Standle kneed him in the back of the head, gripped him by the hair tighter. Riley moaned with pain looked up, the bright hot sun catching his eyes. “No because there’s demons, beasts of hell all around us, poisoning every cavity of humanity that nature can muster out. That’s why I’m here, to prevail against those demons,” answered Standle.

“Kill them?” questioned Riley.

Standle pulled back from Riley, gripping his gun with his two hands. Feeling the trigger, “No, to reform them-”

“Oh, that’s just all inspiring,” stated Spike sarcastically.

Angel, Spike, Conner, and Emma stood before Standle. The sun behind them, Emma held Spike’s hand, Conner had Angel’s forearm. Standle looked up at them, smiled at them, “Day walking?”

“You’re not doing anymore harm,” stated Angel.

“You’re doing harm, you all are,” growled Standle, “I came here, to America, to make the better of this world. Use the recourses, stop the Trigger!”

“The Trigger isn’t real,” stated Angel.

“It’s so real, you people can’t see it,” answered Standle.

“No, you’re just nuts,” said Spike.

“What if, I’m crazy?” asked Standle, “It’s only because I know what’s good for this species.”

“You will start something,” answered Standle.

“It’s not in the prophesies,” said Angel, “It’s your illusion, a scared Watcher’s illusion.”

Standle reeked of fear, he was feeling like he couldn’t do anything. He looked back to Riley, who sat back on his knees, feeling the heat. Standle gripped the trigger. His eyes went wide at the sound of a gun going off. It wasn’t his.

He slowly dropped his gun before shooting Riley and fell backwards, landing on his back. Dead, the blood all over his clothes. Wesley had shot him from behind. Wesley dropped the gun and walked forward towards Angel and Spike.

Wesley helped Riley up and walked him over to Emma and Spike. Emma put her hand over Riley’s wounds and Riley was healed, he stood there.

“You wanted me to do it,” replied Wesley, “Thank you for being there incase something went wrong.”

“You’re welcome,” said Angel, “But you didn’t have to do it.”

“I did,” said Wesley.

“Lets go,” replied Spike.

They turned back to where the road was, far off in the distance, not that far in fact. Angel and Conner walked ahead of the group, Spike and Emma behind them. Wesley in the back, next to Spike. Angel looked at Conner.

Conner smiled at him, in a kind of devilish manner, “Don’t trust me?” Angel didn’t answer, “You like this sun thing?”

“It’s great,” said Angel looking up at the sun, feeling the warm air on him, “Something I haven’t really felt since, I came to L.A. He took a breath, “It’s great.”

“Are you going to want to make a habit of this?” asked Conner.

“No,” said Angel, “I don’t deserve this.”

“You’re always that way, can’t say I don’t agree,” said Conner looked forward, “But, kind of hard on yourself.”

Angel was kind of surprised by Conner’s sudden attitude towards him, “I have to earn this, I didn’t, it’s just a fluke that you can-”

“Make it wear you can walk outside without going up in flames,” stated Conner, “Can’t say I don’t blame you for saying you don’t deserve it, but, I’m glad you don’t want to make it a habit, cause, I don’t like holding your hand.”

“I understand,” said Angel.

“Hey,” said Spike, “Look, Military man. From behind that mirror.”

They went to the road. The man from behind the mirror was standing there next to a car. “Standle is out there dead,” replied Angel to the man.

The man looked to the van and then held out a pair of keys to Angel. Angel looked at them, “What is this?”

“Keys to your, not so stolen new car,” answered The man turning to reveal the black car with the tinted windows. It looked like Angel’s old car and had the top on it at that time.

“I only have one thing I want,” answered Angel, “You don’t need to give me this.”

“Don’t worry,” stated the man, “We wanted to give you this, for all the pain we’ve caused. Disturbance.”

“Really, well, if Angel doesn’t want it I’ll take it,” said Spike.

“No, I want it,” said Angel to Spike.

“You just now sounded as though, you didn’t want it,” replied Spike, “So I guess, if the military man wants to hand it over, then.”

Angel took the keys out of the nice military man’s hands, “Thanks,” he said.

“We won’t bother you, anymore,” answered the Military man.

Angel turned to Riley, “Fin, how about you try going back to Iowa, maybe, having a farm.”

“I’ll think I that,” said Riley.

Angel went to car Conner holding his wrist. Conner let go as Angel got into the driver’s seat and started it, closed the door.
