This is the way that Giles wanted it. No ranks, no salutes, just his team...his friends. He had Willow and Tara put a protection ward around his quarters. He was staring at the beautiful view of Earth.
WILLOW-
"We're ready."
GILES-
"Good. Everyone, what do we know about this planet?"
DAWN-
"Well, it's uncharted, but according to all the demon sources in the sector....it's crawling with vampires and demons."
TARA-
"It's possible that they're could be a hellmouth there."
GILES-
"Yes....according to Starfleet Command, we'll be going to Deep Space Nine first, then to the planet."
FAITH-
"What about the crew?"
BUFFY-
"Faith, we've been through this. Only the President of the Federation, and top Starfleet Admirals know the truth. After the Borg, the Soran, and the Dominian....if people found out that vampires were real and living among them....they might panic."
GILES-
"So, that's it. Let's get some rest."
On the bridge, LaForge was looking at some readouts of interial security monitors. Something was strange, in Captain Giles guest quarters.
LaFORGE-
"Captain....take a look at this."
PICARD-
"What is it?"
LaFORGE-
"The security sensors for Captain Giles quarters didn't register anything. No lifesigns, no entries on the ships's computer...nothing."
PICARD-
"Malfunction."
LaFORGE-
"That's the strange thing, according to the computer...everything checks out fine."
ORTIZ-
"Captain, you have a message in your reading room, sir."
PICARD-
"Thank you, Mr. Ortiz. Geordi, let me know when this happens again." Picard walks into his ready room and switches on the console. He groaned when Admiral Snyder came on the screen. Every captain in Starfleet hated Snyder, and Picard was no exception.
PICARD-
"Admiral, it's good...."
SNYDER-
"Spare me Picard. Who have that overgrown librarian Giles on board." Picard could feel his jaw tighten.
PICARD-
"Yes sir."
SNYDER-
"That wasn't a question. You are ordered to proceed to DS9 and meet up with USS Titan and USS Defiant. As you know that small rock that Giles wants to go to is near the Cardassian Border. Since the end of the war, we have been a little trigger happy. That's all." Huis image flicks out. The situation was becoming stranger and stranger. Why would Starfleet send three starships to study an uncharted planet. He'll have to talk to Giles.
