LOS ANGELES - 2003
Joss and Kai are walking through the wrap part for Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He looks at Sarah, Aly, Nick, and Charisma. He had invited the cast members from Angel that started on Buffy. He remember seven years ago...they seemed so young then. Now, most of the cast members are married, and a few like Charisma and David have kids now. Now, excpet for James, the cast was going off to do other things.
They had planned early in the season to have Spike sacrifice himself to close the Hellmouth. But he was a fan favorite, and a good foil for Angel. So, Spike would be in Season Five of Angel. He briefly toyed with the idea of having Michelle go to Angel, but he dismissed that idea...at least for season five.
Everyone was having a good time, but it was sad too. Espically for Joss. He was sad because he was leaving that world behind, but he was happy because unlike a lot of series that kept going after they should have ended...Buffy ended the way the creator wanted to.
Joss thought about the ending for a moment, he was glad he left it open. Fans can write fanfics, plus he could always go back when he starts to miss Buffy too much. He wasn't retiring though, his cancelled series Firefly was being transformed into a movie so he had to work on his first motion picture directional debut.
Like Alyson Hannigan told one reporter, "It was the right time."
