“So how long have you been practicing?” Kate asked.
“What?” Willow said, a little nervous. Her eyes went wide at the comment.
“How long have you been a witch?” Kate said, accenting the words like Willow was slow. Michelle laughed but Gwen just shook her head.
“I-I’m not a…..” Willow began.
“Don’t deny it sweetie,” Gwen said, “She can sense people besides she caught you in the act.”
“Not very long,” Willow said, “Are you guys?”
“Yeah,” Michelle said.
“So listen now that we’re all friends I have a proposition for you?” Kate said a mysterious glint in her eye.
“What?” Willow asked, trying to keep her voice even.
“We need a 4th and we think you’re it.”
“A 4th?”
“To complete our circle,” Michelle clarified.
“It’s the most powerful number in all of witchcraft,” Gwen stated as thought it was the most obvious thing in the world, “You really haven’t been practicing very long have you?”
Kate shook her head in annoyance, “This isn’t going to work,” she said getting up but Gwen stopped her grabbing her arm.
“Come on Kate, give her a chance,” Gwen said.
“She’s waste of space and pathetic excuse for a witch,” Kate replied with an acid tongue.
“Kate,” Gwen pleaded. Kate looked at her like she wasn’t sure so Gwen pulled her down closer with a gloved hand and whispered something in her ear so others couldn’t hear, “Without her we’re shit. We need a 4th, so our power can be absolute. Otherwise we’re just pulling rabbits out of hats.”
“Fine, we’ll go shopping after school and then we’ll see what you’re really made of,” Kate replied and with that she left.
“I don’t think she likes me very much,” Willow said.
“Don’t take it personally she hates everyone,” Michelle replied, taking a sip of her diet coke.
“Yeah but today she seems bitchyer then usual,” Gwen said, “Any idea what’s up?”
Michelle shrugged, “Her spell's not working.”
“What spell?” Willow asked.
“I don't know. She doesn't want to be white trash anymore. I told her, ‘You're white honey! Just get over it.’”
Gwen laughed and Willow couldn’t help but smile a little.

“So where are we going shopping?” Willow asked her new friends. IT was after school and they were walking down the sideway in town.
“The Dragon’s Cove,” Gwen said.
“So Willow what’s your corner?” Kate asked.
“My corner?”
“Yeah like element,” Michelle said, “I’m water, which is west. Gwen’s fire which is south and Kate’s earth which north.”
“I don’t know,” Willow said.
“I told you this wasn’t going to work,” Kate said, opening the door to the Dragon’s Cove.
“You can be air,” Gwen told her, “That’s east.”
“Okay,” Willow said as they entreated the shop, “Wow.”
Willow was amazed. The shop was like a witch’s paradise. She looked around while Kate picked up and book.
“That’s not for you,” the shopkeeper told her.
“Well personally I think it is,” Kate said, “And I thought the customer was always right.”
“Excuse me,” a customer asked, causing the shopkeeper to leave the girls alone.
“Hey Willow, come here,” Kate said, “Put this in your bag,” she whispered.
“What? No and you shouldn’t take it either stealing is wrong.”
Gwen laughed, “Everyone stills Willow. Even in nature.”
“Yeah,” Michelle said, “Animals still from each other all the time.”
“Survival of the fittest baby,” Kate said with a smirk.

Willow, Kate, Gwen, and Michelle all sat near each other on the public bus they were taking back to school.
“Hey guys look what I got,” Kate said, brandishing the book she had been eying in the shop earlier.
Michelle and Gwen laughed, knowingly.
“What’s so great about this book anyway?” Gwen asked.
“It’s about Manon and how to summon him,” Kate replied.
“Who’s Manon?” Willow asked.
“He’s everything,” Kate began, searching for the right words.
“Is he good or evil?”
“He supersedes good and evil. He’s supersedes everything.”
“I’m sorry I still don’t understand.”
“Let’s put it like this if God and the Devil were playing football, Manon would be the stadium that they played on,” Kate said as the bus began to slow to stop in front of their school, “So Willow are you our 4th or are we going to have to put out new applications.”
“I’m your 4th,” Willow said although she wasn’t really sure. She wanted to be part of magic and here it was right in front of her. Something felt off but Willow just pushed the thought away. As long as she kept her head she would be okay, besides they seemed nice for the most part and Kate was beginning to come around.
“Welcome to the club,” Kate said, putting her arm around Willow as they walked to the front of the bus.
“Yeah,” Michelle said getting off the bus first. It was dark out, “I can tell you’re gonna fit in great.” She smiled and Willow couldn’t help but return the gesture.
Gwen followed Michelle off the bus and Willow followed her, leaving Kate to get off last.
“Now you girls be careful,” the bus driver said, “Lot of weirdoes out there.”
“Mister we are the weirdoes,” Kate replied and the whole group, even Willow walked away laughing.
