"Scully, I found something interesting. It seems in the town of Sunnydale, California there have been a few unexplained deaths. I think we should check it out." Agent Fox Mulder said when his partner Agent Dana Scully came into his office.
"I don't think Skinner wants us going on another wild goose chase just because the deaths are weird." Scully protested.
"It's worth the try. Come on. Maybe there will be someone there who wants to look into these deaths before assuming something." Mulder said trying to cokes her into going.
"Fine. We'll check it out." Scully said trying to figure out why she always gave into him.
"Alright, Buffy, concentrate. Listen for my footsteps for that will be all you hear when you are out patrolling. You won't be able see them until it is to late." Rupert Giles said to Buffy Summers.
"Giles, we've been through this already. I hit you with the ball remember?" Buffy said a little exaggerated and Giles could tell she did not want to be here. It was her free time and she had planned to meet Willow at the Bronze for a drink.
"I know. I just want you to be prepared." Giles said
"I know, but I have been the slayer for five years now. I know the basics." Buffy protested.
"Alright go. But once you are done with Willow I want you patrolling." Giles said
"I would but it will still be light out once I get done with Willow and I'll have a class so I can't really patrol." Buffy said and she left.
"This place doesn't look strange at all, Mulder." Scully said when she and Mulder pulled up to the motel that they would be staying at.
"Well, sometimes places that look really nice have something wrong with them." Mulder said as he unlocked his the door to the room he was staying in
"Alright let's get settled and look around." Scully said. About five/ten minutes later they were out.
"What's with the men in black or should I say man and woman in black?" Xander asked as walked with Willow and Buffy towards his car.
"I don't know. They look a bit suspicious. Let's go check it out." Buffy said and she went over to them.
"Hi, I'm Buffy. Are you guys looking for something because if you are I can maybe help you. That's what I'm best at helping people especially in the safety department well anyways can I help you?" Buffy said kinda fast but Mulder seemed to understand her.
"Hi, Agent Mulder and this is my partner Scully and I think you can help; have noticed anything strange lately?" Mulder said and Buffy wanted to laugh and say she had seen quite a few but refrained and just said, "Like what?"
"Um, maybe deaths." Mulder said not wanting to alarm the girl but wanting answers.
"How strange?" Buffy said quickly which surprised Mulder a little bit who had half expected her to be shocked and by how quick she responded Mulder and Scully both mentally put her on the suspect list.
"Don't call me crazy but…"
"Buffy we got to go Giles and Spike are expecting us." Willow said hoping to stop the agents questioning.
"What was up with that girl? I thought she would have done something like become fearful or something like ask how but all she asked was how strange the death had been." Mulder said
"Maybe she's our main suspect. We'll look into it further and we should fine out who this Spike and Giles are." Scully said as she started to follow Buffy and her friends.
"Thanks. I didn't know how I was going to explain how I knew about how they were strange and plus my being a slayer and all." Buffy said as she, Willow, and Xander rounded around the corner onto Revello Drive.
"No problem. I wonder what they were talking about when they said strange." Willow said thoughtfully.
"I don't know, we should find out. Were Giles and Spike really expecting us?" Buffy asked suddenly not sure if what Willow had said had been made up or truth.
"Probably not but knowing both of them they'll probably be there." Willow said.
"Speaking of Spike, tell me again why you haven't staked him." Xander said keeping his eyes on the road.
"Because he's a big help." Buffy said as they pulled into the drive.
"Whatever." Was Xander's response and they all got out of the car.
"Hey, is any body here?" Buffy called casually as she went in the house.
"'Ello, pet." Spike said as he came around the corner.
"Hello, Spike, where's Dawn?" Buffy aske as she came into the house with Xander and Willow following closely behind her.
"At Janice's house your mum said she could go." Spike said as he walked into the kitchen and sipped something out of a mug.
"Where is my mom by the way?" Buffy asked suddenly noticing Joyce wasn't there.
"She had to go out. I guess I should be going now. See you later, Slayer." Spike said as he picked up his duster and headed towards the door grabbing his blanket.
"Yes, I don't want you here but you can stay. There's some weird people out there and I don't need them getting suspicious if they see you run out of here smoking, and I mean literally." Buffy said stopping Spike in his tracks.
"Whatever you say, love." Spike said and came back and went to sit in the living room.
