Marti runs into Joss's office without knocking, which he was used to by now. Marti slams a piece of paper entitled Emmy Awards.
JOSS-
"What's this?"
MARTI-
"Joss...the show got nominated for best writing."
JOSS-
"What?! For what episode?"
MARTI-
"Uh....'Hush'." Joss stares at her like a deer staring into a set of headlights.
JOSS-
"'Hush'...but that had no dialogue in it."
MARTI-
"I know...it's weird."
JOSS-
"Well, we'll go and hear the winner announced. In the meantime, I've got two surprises for you. First, I'm promoting you to producer and second Buffy is going to have a little sister this season." Joss watches as Marti's facial expression goes from happy to worry.
MARTI-
"Uh...Joss...what about the 'Cute Kid Syndrome.'"
JOSS-
"The WHAT?!"
MARTI-
"You know....aging TV series throws in a younger cast member to bring in viewers....never works."
JOSS-
"Please...this isn't like Seven on 'Married With Children', Dawn will play an important part of the season."
MARTI-
"Dawn....I like the character's name."
JOSS-
"I've got the perfect actress in mind to play her....Lindsey Lohan."
