"Buffy. Sorry I'm late. I was a bit held back at home. How are you feeling?" Giles said as he walked into the library.
"I feel fine, Giles. Anything on that box thingy and why it drains me?" Buffy asked
"Nothing yet. Angel talked to me this morning and mention something about you feeling strange last night." Giles said
"Oh that. I was just tired that's all. Nothing to worry about. Is there anything that I need to help on?" Buffy said
"Uh, not right now. I'll come and get you if I need you." Giles said and Buffy left to get to class.
"Hey, Buffy. Good to have you back at school." Xander said as he and Willow caught up with Buffy in the hall.
"Thanks. It's good to be back." Buffy said
"Did I just hear Buffy Summers say that it was good to back at school? Either you are still sick or I am in some alternate reality." Xander said
"I know. It's just that I don't think I would have lasted another sane moment back home. Mom's saying how I should spend more time at home at night and asking me all sorts of questions about my friendship with Spike." Buffy said.
"Hello, Mrs. Summers, is Buffy home?" Spike said that night when Buffy's mom answered the door.
"Yeah she's upstairs. Actually she was going to see you. How are you feeling by the way? Buffy told me you were sick." Buffy's mom said
"I'm better actually. Thank you." Spike said
"Hey, Spike. I was just coming to see you, though my mom probably told you that already." Buffy said. Spike could tell by what she was wearing and the bag she had slung over her shoulder that she wasn't really going to see him but actually go patrolling but he had to play it cool so her mom didn't get suspicious.
"Hey, Buffy she did that's alright." Spike said and then he thought maybe he should ask her to go for a walk just so that they would be able to talk openly without worrying about whether or not Buffy's mom heard what they were talking about.
"Hey, Spike why don't you and I take a walk. Is that alright mom?" Buffy said. When Buffy mentioned taking a walk it took Spike back a little since been thinking that exact same thing.
Buffy's mom agreed to let them take a walk, which Buffy was definitely happy about because she really needed to go patrolling and with Spike being there she would have some back up if she needed it.
"Why did you come to see me? Did Giles find something out about the box?" Buffy asked Spike who was deep in thought thinking about the box for some reason. He didn't hear her right away until she nudged him.
"What?" Spike said not having enough time to cover up the fact that he was startled.
"I asked why you came to see me and if Giles found something with the box. Are you ok?' Buffy said suddenly looking concerned for him.
"I'm fine. I came to see you because; you know I don't know why I came to see you. I just had this small feeling that you wanted to see me or something like that and I don't know if Giles figured anything out. I left the moment the sun went down. We really got under each other's skin this morning. I really couldn't stand the old bloke one more second." Spike said.
"Who are you calling old because compared to you I'm rather young." A voice behind them said.
"Hey, Giles. How did you know I would be out here?" Buffy asked
"Figured that you would want to catch up from when you were sick. Xander and Willow went out once but they almost got themselves killed so I told them to let it go and that you would be back soon and Xander went out with Spike but I'm sure you heard what happened. So is everything quiet so far." Giles said and the moment he finished speaking three vampires showed up.
It didn't take to long for Spike and Buffy to finish off the two they were fighting, but Giles who didn't have inhuman strength or speed took awhile and wouldn't let Buffy help him at all. The only bad things that happened was Buffy got her arm pretty badly bruised and Spike got his nose broken.
"Buffy your nose is bleeding. Did that vampire break it?" Giles asked.
"I don't thinks so. That vampire didn't even touch my face. Looks like they got Spike's nose though." Buffy said when she looked over at Spike who was holding his nose trying to stop the bleeding and wasn't having much success.
"It's definitely broken. That vampire barely touched my arm but it's pretty banged up." Spike said
"I just thought of something. This may sound a little out there but I've been noticing it and I really didn't think about it until now. Spike was sick when I was sick, he was thirsty when I was thirsty at your place last night, tonight I have broken nose but I never got hit in the face and Spike did get hit in the face and he does have a broken nose and Spike has a badly bruised arm and he barely got touched there and I did get touched on my arm and it's badly bruised. I think something happened where Spike and I are connected somehow where we feel what the other feels and if one of us is hurt then the other is hurt too." Buffy said
"Do notice this too, Spike?" Giles asked the three had started walking again.
"Yeah, I did. When I got angry with Angel over walking Buffy home she yelled at him. I have never known Buffy to yell at Angel. Also I was thinking about maybe asking Buffy if she wanted to take a walk tonight so that we could talk and not worry whether or not her mom heard us and right after I had thought that Buffy mentioned that we take a walk. I thought it was a bit weird." Spike said.
"That's interesting. I'll have to look into that. Well, Buffy why don't you come over to my place so that you can get your nose fixed up a little bit a your mom doesn't notice anything wrong with it." Giles said
" Alright. See you later Spike." Buffy said and her and Giles left to go to his apartment.
"Bye. Man she wouldn't give me the light of day of course she might since she knows the light of day kills me. How is it that I love the one girl who could easily kill me?" Spike said to himself as he walked back to his crypt.
