"Nice of you two to join us please have a seat." Professor Fine said as the two walked in hoping not to be noticed and then continued to lecture. Both Buffy and Spike took notes, but Spike a few more than her since he was more of a studious person than she was. Professor Fine had a nickname from most of his students, Braniac, and most thought he was some kind of alien, but he wasn't he was just really smart.
"Miss Summers, please stay here I would like to talk with you." Professor Fine said at the end of class when everybody was gathering up their stuff to go. When Buffy didn't respond he decided he would use her first name, "Buffy, please come here for a second I'm sure your boyfriend won't mind waiting outside for you."
Upon hearing him say this Buffy burst out laughing and by the time she stopped she saw a very confused Professor Fine.
"Professor, he's not my boyfriend, he's my brother, remember William Giles, or Spike as he likes to be called by his friends. He's been in your class since the beginning of the school year." Buffy said trying hard not to start laughing again.
"Are you alright, Professor?" Spike asked looking concerned as he came up to the professor.
"Um, yeah, but I've never seen you in this class before and trust me this isn't a big class." Professor Fine said stepping back a little starting to feel a bit claustrophobic.
"William, go get Dad. Tell him it's important, he should come." Buffy told Spike quietly and Spike left to get Giles.
"I don't know what you're getting at, Buffy but from what I've seen in you're record the only sibling you have is a little sister who lives in LA. There's nothing about you having a brother and why does he have an accent and you don't if you've lived in Sunnydale for awhile; plus your record says that you've in America your whole life?" Professor Fine questioned.
"That's because he lives in England during the end of spring and all of summer so he comes back accented. I don't see why you're questioning me about my brother. This wasn't what you were going talk to me about in the first place was it." Buffy said as she stood in front of Professor Fine's desk where Professor Fine sat and opened up is laptop.
"You're right about that. I've noticed that you've been letting your grades slip and just wanted to make sure everything was okay." Professor Fine said and Buffy realized that's why he was her favorite professor, he always seemed to care about his students.
"Yeah, I've just been a bit busy lately. Nothing's up I mean I know my dad was just out of town for a while but other than that everything has been fine, thanks for asking though." Buffy said smiling
"We're here." Spike said as he and Giles came around the corner.
"Hello, Professor, my fr-son here told me something was wrong." Giles said the moment he got into the room and also having a hard time calling Spike his son.
"Well, it seems your daughter believes that your son has been in my class before yet he's not on my roster or in any of the university's records, which tells me that he doesn't go here, I mean I'm sure he's a very smart boy and all but he doesn't go here." Professor Fine said having a hard time saying that Spike was a smart boy by the way he dressed, Spike had on black jeans, a black tight top, and a long leather jacket on, his hair was an almost white blonde color, but if you looked at his eyes you could see a soft kind person in Spike's sapphire like eyes.
"Maybe we should talk this over another time, professor. I just think it would be best if the three of us go." Giles said and he guided Spike and Buffy out of the room.
"So you going out with Angel tonight and I haven't seen him around campus at all tonight and we both have advance English. He's been acting strange ever since the two of us woke up, hey didn't even offer to go to the Bronze and get a beer and he and I always do that no matter what, I mean one time I remember, Angel was so sick he had sweat making spots on his shirt and he still didn't mind going out with me." Spike said as he and Buffy walked back to her dorm.
"Yeah I remember that. We might, he did seem strange though you have a point there. You do have remember though that he's just getting over being sick so I think you get my point." Buffy said as they came to the entrance of the building and went inside.
"That's true. I just hope he's ok I mean he's been through so much with his grandmother recently passing, his band breaking up and he's just been fired so yeah." Spike said and she could see the concern on her 'brother's' face and that's when they heard the yelling. Buffy quickly took out her key and opened the door to find Xander and Angel arguing over something.
"Hey, Xander, how's life with the mum?" Spike asked after stepping in between Angel and Xander in hopes of keeping it from getting physical.
"Hey, Buff, and yep. I don't think I could afford a place of my own now so and what's with Spike? I mean what's with the 'I can go in the sun' thing?" Xander asked receiving a confused look from Spike.
"What are you talking about? I love the sun, and why wouldn't I be able to go in the sun?" Spike said
"Well let's see, you're a vampire. You do remember right or are we going to have to knock some sense into you?" Xander said sounding annoyed at what Spike had said.
"Vampire right well Buffy I think that everybody has gone crazy for sure I mean the professor says I'm not his student even though I'm one of the best students in there and now Xander here says I'm Dracula." Spike said laughing.
"No not Dracula, Spike. I think you are Spike the guy who is over 100 years old, who used to eat people, now can't because you've had a chip put in your head, and to you Buffy I thought you hated this guy I mean he's always obsessing over you and you two are arguing non stop." Xander said stepping away from the position that he was standing in when he and Angel were arguing.
"Xander, Spike and I argue because we're brother and sister. I think you're right. Will, they are a bit bonkers." Buffy said
"Whoa, hold up there, since when are you guys brother and sister? I mean is it even possible for you two to have the same mother?" Xander said sounding utterly confused.
"No Xander we were both adopted and that's why everybody tells us we look alike and that includes your girlfriend Anya." Spike said sarcastically sitting down in a chair while Buffy sat down in her bed.
"What's up with you Xand? What's up with everyone?" Buffy asked
"Buffy, Spike, I think it's about time we told you something." Angel said as he leaned against the door
"What is it Angel? Is everything ok?" Buffy asked concerned while Spike gave Angel a questioning look.
"You might not believe me at first but it's true. Last night neither you nor Spike were at a party. You were in a graveyard looking for vampires to slay. Spike Xander's right, you are a vampire but I think something happened in which you became human or something and Buffy you're a vampire slayer someone who kills these vampires and you and Spike are not brother and sister." Angel said getting 'you're crazy for sure' looks from both Buffy and Spike.
"Very funny Angel but I think that fever got to your head because I feel rather human and I'm pretty sure that Buffy and I are siblings." Spike said only half jokingly.
"Spike, I was not sick will you get it through your thick skull you know if I could I would run out of here but unfortunately I'm in the same boat you're in or that you were in last nigh, I'm a vampire." Angel said almost shouting taking Spike back a bit.
"I-I'm sorry Angel. I-it'll never h-happen again." Spike said in almost a whisper stuttering a little bit.
"Will, your stutter, it's back. Angel, how could you? You know he's sensitive about stuff like that. You knew that you were one of the few that kept him from stuttering and now look he doesn't even have you to help." Buffy said angrily at Angel as she got up to go over to Spike who now had his head down and was moving his foot kicking at nothing.
"Since, when has Spike had a stutter?" Xander said confused
"He had it when Dru turned him. I wasn't there but that's what I was told. I think Spike even confessed, this when he was still getting use the fact that he didn't have to wear glasses, that he had stuttered when ever he got really nervous. I never had a chance to witness it so I didn't totally believe it." Angel said as he watched Buffy comfort Spike who had continued kicking.
"Liam, how many times do I have to tell you not to mention that Drusilla girl in front of William here?" Buffy hissed and Angel knew he was in trouble so he decided it might be best if he stayed quiet and talked to her later.
"What happened? What's wrong?" Giles asked as he came running in because he heard all the yelling that had just occurred.
"Nothing, other than Liam brought Will's stutter back and old memories of a certain crazy English girl who we don't bring up." Buffy said glaring at Angel as she said the last part.
Giles who didn't know what Buffy meant about Spike having a stutter. All Giles could come up with was to say, "How about we go get something like tea or hot chocolate?" At the mention of hot chocolate everybody saw Spike's face light up a little bit.
"Thanks, Dad. I-I really needed th-this." Spike said as he slowly sipped his cup.
"Um, welcome son. Buffy could I talk to you for a sec, we'll be right back, William." Giles said having a hard time calling Spike William and son.
"What's up dad? Is everything ok?" Buffy asked concerned, especially when she saw that Giles had a far off look in his eyes.
"You're serious. You really think that I'm your father both you and Spike. Angel was right something did happen to you two last night." Giles said in voice that told Buffy he was serious but also cared deeply and didn't want this to end wrong.
"What are talking about? Of course we think you're our father since we've lived with you all our lives. I mean unless there's something you and mom never told us and what does Angel have to do with any of this?" Buffy asked Giles could tell that she was still angry with him.
"Are you two coming?" a voice behind Buffy said and she knew it was Spike.
Spike was glad that he didn't have to hard of talking when he asked if they were coming. He knew it was because he was finally calming down and was rather happy.
"Hello, William, we're coming. Are you two ready to go? I mean shouldn't you be getting home son and Buffy, isn't there a particular test you should be studying for?" Giles inquired finding a little easier to call Spike his son and by his human name although he didn't know why, he thought it might have a little to do with the fact that this Spike now was a little easier to deal with than the other one.
