"Found something." Willow called to everyone. It seemed like they had been researching for hours and they were all pretty tired.

"Are you sure this time, Wil?" Buffy asked as she came over to look at the computer screen.

"Pretty sure. Is this what your guy looked like?" Willow asked pointing to the screen. There was a picture of a man with glasses, semi long hair, what looked to be blue eyes, and a navy blue sweater on. Buffy thought he looked a little geekish, but kept that idea to herself, well almost.

"Kind of, but he didn't have glasses or long hair. He reminds me of a young Giles." Buffy said and then grinned at Giles who just ignored the comment.

"What does it say, Willow?" Giles asked.

"Says he used to be a professor at NYU and he taught ancient history. He was kind of a joke there, though. His theories were a little out there, he believed a race of aliens put the pyramids in Egypt instead of them being built Pharaoh's slaves. He disappeared in '95 and reappeared a few years later. Nobody knows where he was and he's not talking. That's about it. Doesn't say anything about him dying though." Willow said looking up from her laptop.

"Maybe we should try to find that Jack O'Neill guy he was talking about. Maybe he can help us out." Buffy said and Willow immediately went back to typing on her laptop in hopes of finding some information.

"Good idea. I'm on it." Willow said not looking up from the screen.

"Do you really think this guy will help us, Buffy?" Dawn asked as they walked into the living room.

"I don't know, Dawnie, but if he does if would be wonderful. We keep turning up empty with places to find Spike." Buffy said as she sat down next to Giles to look at some of the books.

"So what are we looking for now?" Buffy asked as she picked up a book.

"This Oma Dasalla person. Name sounds a little familiar as well as the ancients but I'm not quite sure where from." Giles said rather frustrated.

"We'll find something. I'm sure of it." Buffy said and then they heard Willow shouting something from the dining room about finding something.

"What is it Wil?" Buffy asked when she came in with Dawn and Giles close at her heels.

" Well I had a little trouble actually figuring it out but it seems that there was a Jack O'Neill who worked with this Daniel Jackson guy. He's a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Says he retired right after what was supposed to be his last mission, which was about the time that Daniel disappeared and was recalled to duty around '97. He lost his son in '95 and that's about it. One other thing he lives in Colorado and you can reach him through the Air Force. Maybe you should call him Buffy." Willow said smiling a little.

"Give me the number and then I'll go call." Buffy said and Willow jotted the number down for Buffy. When she called she had to leave a message with him since he wasn't there and even then she wasn't sure he would get back to her, that was until she got a phone call late at night.

"Hello." Buffy said sleepily into the phone, she hadn't been asleep but she was still tired.

"I was told a Buffy Summers called me about Daniel Jackson." The man's voice said on the other line.

"Yeah, I'm her. This must be Colonel Jack O'Neill." Buffy said into the phone.

"Yeah it is, what do you want to know about Daniel Jackson?" Jack asked a little harshly and Buffy picked it up.

"Hey, cool down, just want to know if he's real. I know we found some info on him but we wanted to know if he was really dead." Buffy said

"He is." Was all the response she got.

"If your boss allows it do you think you could meet me somewhere. It would have to be in my town though." Buffy said hoping he would.

"I'd have to think about it. It doesn't sound life threatening at the moment." Jack said if you could see him then you'd see him running his hand over his graying brown hair trying hard not to shout at the girl he was talking to since he didn't want to talk about his best friend.

"It kind of is though. My friend's life is in danger and your friend may help us but I'm not sure if I can trust him so I have to talk to you." Buffy said

"Fine, I'll talk to my boss. Where do you live?" Jack asked and Buffy gave a sigh of relief in the fact that he might help her.

"Sunnydale, California. If you can call me and I'll tell you where to meet me." Buffy said smiling a little and it felt good she hadn't smiled much since Spike had been taken by the First.

"Alright. I'll call you later." Jack said

"Thank you, Colonel." Buffy said and Jack said that it was no big deal and he hung up.

"Was that him, Buffy?" Giles asked when she came into the living room to find Giles sitting up on the couch. Dawn and Willow had gone to bed hours ago and the potentials had miraculously fallen asleep leaving Giles and Buffy the only ones awake. Giles had fallen asleep though but he was awake now.

"Yeah it was. We might get together to talk about this Daniel Jackson. Am I doing the right thing, Giles? You know in trusting a man I've never met before?" Buffy asked settling down next to him.

"I think you are. Just be careful in what you say. We don't want him finding everything out." Giles said.

"I know. I'll be careful." Buffy said and then picked up the book she had been looking at right before Jack had called.

"Buffy, go to bed. You need to sleep. We'll pick up tomorrow." Giles said and Buffy put the book down and started heading up.
