“Dawn!” Spike yelled, but Dawn kept running.
Spike threw the robot leg down and took off after her.
Dawn ignored Spike’s calls and ran towards the tower. She paused at the bottom of it.
Spike ran up to her. “Dawn! What are you doing?” He asked.
“Stay here,” Dawn said, getting on to the structure.
“Lil Bit,” Spike growled.
“Spike,” Dawn said. “Trust me. I’ll be okay, just give me a few minutes.”
Spike looked up at the tower then down at her. “Do you promise you’ll be okay? Cuz I cant lose you,” he said.
Dawn smiled. “I promise,” she said, climbing the tower.
Spike paced around the base of the tower and after about 5 minutes, Dawn came down.
Spike looked up and his eyes widened. “Dawn?”
Dawn gently guided Buffy over to Spike. “She’s scared and confused,” she said.
“What did you do?” Spike asked.
“It wasn’t me,” Dawn said. “I just wanna get her home.”
“Good idea,” Spike said.
Once at the Summers house, Dawn took Buffy upstairs and Spike sat heavily on the couch. He held his head in his hands and sobbed.
Buffy let Dawn get her cleaned up, but she heard Spike’s sobs and went downstairs.
She went over and sat next to him. “Spike?” She whispered.
Spike head shot up. “Buffy,” he whispered.
Buffy ran her hands over his face and pulled him into her arms. “It’s okay. I’m here,” she said.
Spike buried his face in her chest and curled into her side. “I missed you so much, Buffy,” he whispered.
Buffy held him closely. “Come on. Lets get you upstairs,” she said coaxing him to his feet.
“Buffy, don’t you think you and Dawn should be alone?” Spike asked.
Buffy rolled her eyes and pulled him up the stairs. “You’re apart of our family so come up with us,” she said, leading him to her room.
Dawn was asleep in her own bed already so Buffy and Spike were alone.
Buffy slid her hands up his arms and slid his jacket off his shoulders. “Make yourself
comfortable, Spike. We need each other tonight. I’m
gunna go change and you get comfy in bed,” she said, disappearing.
Spike took off his boots and climbed into Buffy’s bed. He snuggled down into the covers and Buffy smiled as she came back into the room. She climbed in the bed and snuggled deep into his arms as she closed her eyes. “Good night Spike,” she said.
Spike kissed her hair. “Nite, Luv,” he said, and soon both of them were asleep.
