WASHINGTON, DC - 2032
President Robin Wood watches Maple leave the office, probably to go to Faith. He pushes the thought from his mind, and switches on a secure vidphone. The image of General Riley Finn comes on.
ROBIN-
"Riley, are we ready?"
RILEY-
"Yes, Mr. President. The targets have been selected."
ROBIN-
"Are you sure this will convince them to join us willingly?"
RILEY-
"Yes, sir. Once our demon contacts have killed off Spike, Gia Rosenberg, and Xander Harris, they will beg for our help."
ROBIN-
"This matter of Gia Rosenberg...are you sure your operative doesn't have any problems with the plan?"
Riley motions off camera and a young man steps in. It's Robert, Gia's ex-boyfriend.
ROBERT-
"Mr. President, all the listen devices have been installed plus the GPS locator for the satellite. As far as Gia's 'condition', the mission is more important."
ROBIN-
"That's what I want to hear." Unknown to Robin, Riley, and Robert a microphone is hidden next to the vidphone. It's transmitting a signal that leads back to a factory five blocks away. Inside, a man records the conversation and switches it off after hearing the entire thing. He stands up, grabs the recorder, and heads for the door. Angel had to warn everyone, starting with Maple and Faith.
HOTEL ROOM-
Dawn stared back at Maple through the vidphone, not believing what she was hearing. After Maple finished recapping the story, Dawn leans back in her chair to think.
DAWN-
"Okay...go to New York and meet Riley. For the moment, we're going to abandon the Estate House...."
FAITH-
"Wait!!! Why would Robin tell her about the satellite. I think you stay there...for now. I think they may have people waiting for you outside." Dawn motions to a couple of the Slayers to check the windows.
DAWN-
"Okay...we'll wait for now. I'll send a few Slayers into the surrounding woods to check it out. Call me back as soon as our meeting is over." Maple turns off the vidphone, and looks at her girlfriend.
MAPLE-
"What now?"
FAITH-
"We get our asses to New York and..." A knock comes from the door. Maple and Faith both grab swords and tiptoe to the door. Maple opens it to find Angel standing there.
FAITH-
"Angel! What in the hell are you doing here. You shouldn't be anywhere near a major city."
ANGEL-
"Yeah, I know about the price of my head from both demons and the government for bringing down Wolfham and Hart, but this is way too important. Woods has arranged to have Gia, Xander, and Spike killed to persuade Buffy to willingly join the government."
MAPLE-
"Okay....Angel, you go to Bathe and warn everybody. Faith and I have to meet this Riley guy."
NEW YORK-
General Riley Finn was shaking Robert's hand.
RILEY-
"So, you purposely got that girl knocked up?"
ROBERT-
"Yes, sir. To maxium the effect on Summers and Rosenberg. But, sir, why Harris. Why not go after Dawn herself."
RILEY-
"Yes...Dr. Dawn Summers Harris. I have learned something about her recently. She is also known as The Key. Right after I left, a hellgod called Glory tried to capture and kill her. I want Dr. Harris taken alive...so we can experiment with her. Maybe this Key can be made into a weapon."
