WASHINGTON, DC - 2032
The autocar carrying Maple to the White House pulls up to the guard house. The Marine scans her papers with a laserscanner, and the laser fencing that is guarding the entrance is taken down. The autocar moves up to the front of the West Wing section of the White House. She exits and is escorted into the White House by another Marine.
MARINE-
"Ma'am, please step inside the scanning booth." Maple steeps inside and shuts her eyes, a laser scan covers her entire body. A message flashes across the Marine's palm pilot: 'NO WEAPONS - MAGICS CONFIRMED'. A young woman in a suit steps up and places a temporary binding spell on Maple. She is then escorted into the Oval Office. 'Goddess, I hate this. Why do you do this to me?' She thinks. A door opens and the new appointed President Robin Wood steps through.
WOOD-
"Have a seat, Maple...we have some things to discuss. Where's Faith?"
MAPLE-
"She's not feeling well."
WOOD-
"Yeah...well...I guess YOU know exactly how she feels, don't you." Maple stares into his eyes. 'Stay calm, Maple, stay calm. But she couldn't help herself.
MAPLE-
"You know...I'm not sure how I should address you. I mean, do I call you Robin, or do I call you Wood...or do I call you a lousy son of a bitch?"
WOOD (grinning)-
"You know, you shouldn't call your boss that."
MAPLE-
"Excuse me?"
WOOD-
"Effective immediantly....The Watcher's Council is under the supervisor of the United States Government." Maple shakes her head, not believing what he just said. This is trouble with a capital T.
MAPLE-
"The Watcher's Council is a private organization....."
WOOD-
"Yes, a private organization that has Slayers and Wiccans running around the world without a single thought about what the US interests may be.
MAPLE-
"Robin.....what happened to you? Back in the day, you would have never accepted this."
WOOD-
"Maybe you should ask your bitch. Whatever, you are ordered to report to General Finn at the UN Building tomorrow."
MAPLE-
"I'm ordered?" She glances around the room and sees only one Secret Service Agent.
WOOD-
"Don't even try it. I know what you're thinking....take the agent out and then me. You see, I thought about that....right now a satellite is in orbit over that cute estate house in Bathe. In six hours, if I don't have a yes, sir answer from you it will fire a particle beam that will destroy the house and kill everyone in there. So, is it a yes?" Maple bowed her head in surrender. She'll meet this General Finn, but maybe she should have a few tricks up her sleeve.
After a twenty minute ride back to the hotel, she almost ran over Faith getting in. She turned on the vidphone and dialed Dawn's number. Faith was hoping for a little play, but after seeing her girlfriends face, she gave up on that idea.
FAITH-
"What's wrong?"
MAPLE-
"Sweety....we're all in deep shit."
