"So, what is it?" Spike asked when he saw Buffy and Fred walk in.
"Well, as you know, Spike, I've been fighting a bit of the stomach flue, or so I thought, Wesley took me to the doctor to make sure everything was ok, since it was lasting longer than we both liked and when the doctor checked me, he found I was pregnant." Fred said smiling brightly as ever as she held Wesley' hand who was smiling as well.
"Fred, that's great! Congratulations!" Buffy shouted as she ran over to hug Fred and Wesley, and Cordelia did the same. Spike and Angel hugged Fred of course, but being the manly men they were they shook Wesley's hand, or at least that's how it started. Angel started shaking Wesley's hand but before he knew it he was pulled into a hug and, surprisingly to Spike, he accepted Spike was next and before he could even put out his hand Wesley hugged him. Spike knew this was the happiest moment of Wesley and Fred's life and for only a split second he thought about how Wesley back home would never get this chance but that thought was quickly diminished when Wesley came over to him and started talking.
"So, you ready for January 6th?" Wesley asked still smiling.
"What's the 6th?" Spike asked confused.
"You really have been out of it. We get to pass back all those midterms, thankfully you have very accepting students at UC Sunnydale, where at UCLA my students aren't so grateful." Wesley said smiling.
"Right, can't believe I forgot." Spike said trying to laugh. He half hoped that when it came time to pass back those midterms that he wouldn't be here since he had no clue, whatsoever on how to teach and he didn't even know the subject he taught.
"Hey it's break, that's what we're supposed to do forget all about work even though they leave us to do grading, but knowing you you've got it done already." Wesley said.
"He does. He spent his entire first day off grading all those papers. It was crazy." Buffy said laughing slightly but her laugh grew when Spike glared at her slightly.
"I've got a great idea, to celebrate the baby I'll take you guys out for a drink." Angel said suddenly.
"That sounds great, but when are the ladies going to celebrate if they've got al the kids with them?" Spike said as he looked at the women.
"We'll be fine. I'm sure Jimmy and Connor can watch Peter and Susan." Buffy said as she pushed the guys towards the door.
"You sure they'll be alright?" Spike asked concerned as he looked at Jimmy who was playing some sort of card game with Susan.
"They'll be fine, now go." Buffy said as she literally pushed Spike out the door.
"Come on, Will. Let's get going." Angel called from the car, and Spike relented and kissed Buffy lightly on the lips and headed towards the car, where he found himself in the backseat.
"Why is it I get the backseat?" Spike asked as they drove down the road.
"Because you took to long getting out here and you're the shortest." Angel explained not taking his eyes off the road.
"Not my fault I'm short." Spike whined as he slouched back in the seat.
"Being short has its advantages though. You were so cute as an elf at our high school Christmas play, remember that Wes?" Angel said smiling.
"Sure was, remember that elf suit they made him wear." Wesley said smiling back at Spike who glared back.
"Elves are not cute. They are tiny and they can be creepy at times." Spike said pouting a little and Wesley and Angel couldn't help but laugh.
"That wasn't your attitude after you got Buffy to go out with you because she thought you were cute in that role." Angel said smiling as he pulled into the bar that Spike knew as Willie's.
"Still say I looked bloody ridiculous." Spike said scowling as the three walked into the bar.
"If you think you looked so ridiculous then why did you make sure you got the suit from mom after you got married and moved out of the house?" Angel asked grinning.
"Umm, Buffy wanted it because she umm liked to remember why she had wanted to go out with me on our first date." Spike guessed not knowing why the other Spike had really wanted to keep the suit that apparently made him look like a whelp. Angel had to laugh at what sounded like a poor excuse from Spike.
"Right ok. As long as you no she didn't fall in love with you there, well not seriously in love." Angel said before taking a sip from the beer he had ordered when Spike was talking.
"Is that right?" Spike said grinning.
"Yeah, that one night after you found out Dru was seeing another guy you went running out of that house so fast we could have gotten whiplash if we watched you run out. Well, it was raining pretty hard and freezing out but anyways because Buffy was kind of your best friend you ran to her. The only person at her house though was her mom and before you could leave though she had you sit down and talk to her over a cup of hot chocolate. To make a long story short you ended up catching a cold because of the rain, crashed on the couch, Buffy came home saw you sleeping on the couch and fell in love with you." Angel said smiling.
"Right." Was all Spike could say.
