EN ROUTE TO BATHE, ENGLAND - 2022
Maple and Faith sat in silence as the autocar drove them home. Nobody in 2022 carried a driver's license anymore, all you have to do is tell the computer where you're going and the GPS navingation does the rest. Finally, Faith couldn't take the silence anylonger.
FAITH-
"So, Maple....why come back?"
MAPLE-
"I don't know....I left to get away from that life, but...."
FAITH-
"You missed them. I get that, I was on the whole lone wolf trip myself for a while."
MAPLE-
"It doesn't help, does it?"
FAITH-
"Nope."
MAPLE-
"So, if you're here...is Robin Wood here, too."
FAITH-
"Nay, girl, we broke up...like four years back. We still kept in contact though. He wanted me to settle down and punch out some kids like the others. I'm still too fucked up with my our life to start raising kids."
MAPLE-
"How's Aunt Buffy, Aunt Dawn, Uncle Xander, and Grandpa Giles....and....mom?" Faith get a deep breathe about the last reference.
FAITH-
"Well, B's very prego...twins, with Spike no else."
MAPLE-
"Wait...Spike can't have kids, he's a vampire."
FAITH-
"Well, from what I understand it is that your sis put the whammy on Bondie and Blondie, so....blonde kids I guess. Dawn is head of the Council now. Spins my head, thinking that little runt is now my boss. Xander is a counselor for a AA group, and Giles is happily retired."
MAPLE-
"And mom?"
FAITH-
"Hmmm...Red the Robot."
MAPLE-
"What's that suppose to mean?"
FAITH-
"She shut down...no emotion except for being a super-bitch. She's quit the Scooby Gang, and her and B ain't friends anymore. Don't know the story on that one." Maple starts thinking about her very loving mother, her Willow, going from hugging and supportive to an emotional challenged bitch. It didn't seem possible.
MAPLE-
"It's because of me isn't?"
FAITH-
"Should as hell didn't help."
MAPLE-
"And what about Joyce, Kendra, Alex....and Gia?"
FAITH-
"Joycie is engaged to be married to some artist from Milan. Kendra is studying to be a Watcher. Alex is studying engineering. Gia, well, she's a first class wiccan."
MAPLE-
"Wait a minute....how did you know to pick me up?"
FAITH-
"Dawn has been trying to track you down. Something about some nest you destroyed in Hong Kong."
MAPLE-
"Faith....I've never went to Hong Kong."
