LOS ANGELES - 1997
Joss is on the phone when Doug and David Greenwalt walk into the room. Everyone is waiting on the networks decision is renew the series contract for a second season. The other person on the phone is Sarah Michelle Gellar.
JOSS-
"Sarah, look go enjoy your movie. As soon as I hear, you'll hear....Sarah....I promise. Okay....bye." He hungs up the phone.
DOUG-
"She called again?"
JOSS-
"Yeah, for the third time. Look, just case we ARE picked up for the second season, we need to talk characters."
DAVID-
"You want to bring in some new characters? Cool. We need a bad guy for the season. And maybe a new love interest." Suddenly the phone rings and Joss stumbles over himself trying to get to it.
GAIL (on the phone)-
"Joss, I've got good news and bad news...which one first?" Joss takes a deep breathe, the bad news was probably a no-go for the second season.
JOSS-
"The bad."
GAIL (on the phone)-
"No...actually I can't do that. It would spoil the good news, which is...the network has just ordered 22 new episodes and a contract up til season five." Joss jumps up and down and gives Doug and David a thumbs up.
JOSS-
"Okay...wow....what's the bad news?"
GAIL (on the phone)-
"They want to move the show from Monday to Tuesday."
JOSS-
"Damn....the show's going to die on Tuesday."
Back at his new house, Joss is looking at his computer screen. He still couldn't believe that they wanted to move the show.
JOSS-
"If they're going to move the show, give the audience a reason to move with us." He starts typing, the WB already said that two episodes will air when they change. So, Buffy and Angel are going to have sex. And there will back consquences, really bad ones.
