I read all the comments. I think one of the issues is how soon since the show's been off. Leonard Nimoy said really bad things about Spock for some time after the show. But eventually he donned the ears again. David Duchovny will always appreciate Mulder for what he's done.
I don't think any of the actors in BtVS/Angel will ever hate what it gave them. They have immortality through these shows. SMG and DB will live forever through these shows. Just as Jimmy Doohan, even after his death, will forever be an inspiration to young people forever.
How about Sean Connery and Roger Moore?
Actors like to know they can do other roles. I think if they're offered a good script (and some breathing time), it'll be a done thing.
