Chapter 1: Deck the Halls
Here’s my obligatory little holiday ficlet
Disclaimer: None of the Scoobies, vamps, demons, or even their minions belong to me. They would make such a lovely Christmas present though…

Christmas and Hanukkah were only a day away. Buffy, Xander, Oz, Giles, and Anya were busy decorating the Summers’ living room with anything red or green that was on hand. Joyce, Jenny, and Willow were in the kitchen baking cookies and cupcakes.
Xander collapsed on the couch after a grueling ten minutes of untangling Christmas lights, announcing, “That’s it, time for another break!” and promptly turned on the TV.
By default, it was on the news channel. Sensing the slight disturbance to the celebratory atmosphere, Buffy frowned a little, and turned to Xander, saying, “You know, we could all take a break I guess. I think we should sing some Christmas carols, o-or you know, watch a movie or something. Something Christmassy.”
Xander rolled his eyes. “Buff, are you going to be like this every holiday? I mean, the whole Thanksgiving thing was bad enough, and I think we’ve filled our holiday cheer quota for the night, and maybe tomorrow night too…”
Buffy wouldn’t be deterred. “We’re going to have a wonderful Christmas. Or Chrismukkah,” she added, remembering Willow was Jewish. Willow hadn’t seemed to mind too much, and had joined in the fun with plenty of enthusiasm. Plus, Hanukkah was starting on the same day this year anyway.
Buffy continued, “Cheer up Xander, it’s Christmas eve! We can stay up all night so at midnight we can open presents!!”
Buffy eyed the pile of presents next to the mini Christmas tree they had set up gleefully.
“Alright, Buffster, whatever you say,” The defeated Xander couldn’t help but grin at Buffy’s enthusiasm, but still, turned back to the TV, deciding he would turn to some cartoons that would no doubt have a holiday theme. Buffy wouldn’t be able to argue with that.

Willy wiped the sweat off his brow, scanning his bar. This was the fullest he had ever seen it, on a holiday like Christmas. The demons and vamps usually stayed low, choosing to avoid the festivities and the abundance of crosses and bright, colorful lights everywhere.
Suddenly, Willy straightened up and groaned as his suspicions were confirmed. Music swelled from no distinguishable source, and suddenly, every vamp in the room stood up looking confused, and burst out in song.
"Deck the Halls with gory bodies,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
‘Tis the season to be mauling,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
The demons now stood up, moving in step with the vamps, and joined them for the next stanza.
Drink we now of blood by barrels,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Troll the Ancient's come to quarrel,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Willy found himself on his feet, doing a little twirl in time with the music.
A large troll entered the bar and immediately bellowed out the next few lines.
See the blazing fire consume them,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Strike the prey and join the mayhem,
Fa la la la la, la la la la!”
The entire bar shook with the force of dozens of vamps and demons of every kind singing their theoretical hearts out.
