Giles put down the phone, he was obviously deep in thought.
" That was Kennedy, she's lost her powers too"
Willow stood " I don't understand - that was really powerful magick"
Giles frowned, " There may be something about this - a prophecy,"
" But the thing with the power sharing wasn't prophesised - was it??"
" It was, in the Codex - i found it soon after we'd defeated the first and read something about it....."
He looked up - straight at Willow
" We need to translate the next part of the book - i have a feeling thats where our answers lie"
Willow sat down, frowning " So the whole thing was prophesised? It wasn't Buffy's idea?"
Giles sat down opposite her " Me misplacing the Codex was fate, Bufy was destined to share her powers"
Willow nodded " But we need to find out why all the slayers have lost their powers"
Giles went to the bookshelf behind him and removed an old, fading book, he sat down and started to flick through.
He reached halfway through the book when Xander and Anya walked through the door.
" Hey Will, whats up?"
" Kennedy called - she's lost her powers"
Xander frowned - " So are we coming to the conclusion that all the slayers aren't slayers?"
Willow looked at him " It seems that way. Giles just found the Codex, there was some prophecy that Buffy would share her powers and he's hoping that
the next part will tell us something else"
Xander sat down and Anya followed suit, "So its back to being all researchy then"
Giles looked up and nodded "Yes, Anya - are you fluent in ancient Sumarian?"
Anya looked up and her face split into a huge grin "Yes I am"
Giles pushed the book across the table, Anya picked it up and began to read out loud
" And following the death of the longest shall call the young one. All the divided power shall be invested in she and she will be the strongest ever to walk
Completely alone she will be found by the faithful and discover her birthright"
Xander, Giles and Willow stared at her.
" Thats what it said" Anya protested.
The door slammed open and a tall figure entered, followed by a smaller one.
" I told you to sod off"
" Spike, shut up"
Giles removed his glasses, polished them on his shirt and replaced them back onto his nose.
"Angel?"
" Yeah, I need to talk to you - all the slayers have lost their powers - apart from Faith"
Willow suddenly stood up and began to pace.
" I've been getting the same reports, and i found a prophecy - that doesn't really make much sense"
Willow abruptly stopped pacing
" Yes it does, the longest - thats Buffy, the slayer thats lived the longest. The divided power means the power that she shared. The new slayer will obviously
be the strongest ever and she'll be alone when we find her - we're the faithfull.
