CALIFORNIA - 1873
Xander Harris rides his horse into town of Sunnydale, California. The small town was bustling with activity. He heard in Los Angeles that Sunnydale could be as big as San Francisco in a couple of years. He rides his horse up to a hitching post, and dismounts in front of a store called 'Giles General Store and Gunshop.' He walks into the quant little store, and begins to look around. The gentlemen behind the counter walks up to him.
MAN-
"Can I help you with anything, sir?" His accent is English.
XANDER-
"Actually, I'm in town to set up business and I need some supplies."
MAN-
"Oh, what kind of business?"
XANDER-
"Construction."
MAN-
"What's wonderful. We could always use a new business in this town. My name is Rupert Giles, I'm the owner of this shop."
XANDER-
"Xander Harris. Do you also known who the lot commissioner is and a hotel in town?"
GILES-
"Yes, actually the lot commissioner is also the mayor, Mr. Tom Wilkins. The best hotel in town is Anya's Bed and Breakfast over on Main Street. If you don't mind me asking, but are you armed?"
XANDER-
"No, never had the need for guns, but I see where I can get one if I do need one." Xander motions to the wall lined up with Winchester rifles and Colt pistols.
GILES-
"Yes...well...I only asked because, if you carry a gun into town you have to register with the town marshall."
XANDER-
"Who's that?"
GILES-
"Well, are Marshall is a little different..she's a young woman named Buffy Summers."
