TWO YEARS LATER,
Buffy's orginal statement about Dawn not being ready was way off. With her new powers and skills, she was quickly catching up with Buffy's killing 'score'. And her appearance had changed. Dawn always wore her hair back, and she dresses in loose fitting clothes. Her lightsaber was with her at all times. Even once in a while, Dawn would bring out Serra's lightsaber, and set the settings on low power. Buffy and Dawn would practice with the lightsabers. One morning, they were sparing when Giles came in.
GILES-
"Buffy! Dawn! There's trouble....RUN!!!" Suddenly, Giles flies across the room and he hits the ground hard, knocking him out. Standing there was Ethan Rayne, with a black colored lightsaber. Buffy begins to make a move, but Dawn stops her.
DAWN-
"Buffy, look after Giles."
BUFFY-
"Dawn, no..."
DAWN-
"Buffy, don't argue." Suddenly, her green colored blade goes to full power. "So, is was you? What took you so long?"
ETHAN-
"Come how....I wanted a little bit of a challenge." They walked up to each other and cross blades. Ethan's black blade casts an eerie light over his face. Ethan swung first, and the duel was on. Each one of them, striking and blocking, but Ethan was driving Dawn back.
BUFFY-
"Dawn, here." Buffy throws the saber she was using, and Dawn caught it, and lit the blade. Dawn began swinging both sabers, and was driving Ethan back. Suddenly, Ethan jumped to the second level balcony, and Dawn followed. As she landed, she bearly dodged a swap, and Ethan blade cut through the blue saber's handle. The battle was so close quarters that fists and kicks started to be used. Dawn did a roundhouse kick that knocked Ethan back down to the first floor. He hit the ground and rolled away. Dawn jumped down and they faced each other. Dawn had a cut under her left eye and a bleeding lip. Ethan's nose was broken and bleeding heavily.
ETHAN-
"After I kill you, your sister will die!"
DAWN-
"No if I get you first, Ethan." The battle was back on. This time Dawn was driving Ethan back, the thought of Buffy dying by this man fueled her strikes.
DAWN-
"Ethan, you want for two years for this....maybe you should have used a chaos demon for something lame like that." That hit a nerve. Ethan ran up to Dawn and over swang. Dawn's blade cut into Ethan's neck and his head rolled across the room. His body drops like a stone. Dawn turns her blade off, and walks over to Buffy and Giles.
BUFFY-
"You okay?"
DAWN-
"Yeah, I think we'll be okay. Let's get Giles to the hospital."
