"I'm coming just a minute." Giles called as he went to get the door.
"Spike, what is it?" Giles said when he answered, a little surprised to see Spike in the doorway.
"It's Buffy. She disappeared." Spike said with a worried tone that Giles picked up right away as Spike walked into the house.
"What do you mean disappeared?" Giles asked carefully.
"I mean disappeared, vanished, gone. I was taking a walk when I saw her looking for something she had sensed when this thing raised a rock or something over its head smashed it on hers and she disappeared. I looked for her but she was no where to be found." Spike said thankful he didn't have to breathe because he would have been out of breath if he did.
"Let's think about this. What did this thing look like?" Giles said taking off his glasses to wipe them clean.
"It was a little taller than me of course a lot of stuff is so that doesn't help a ton. Let's see it had a few scales here and there and fangs, pretty sure. Bloody heck! Giles, what if we don't find her? What if she's gone for good? I don't think I'll last if she's gone." Spike said and then suddenly realized he had slipped a little hint of his feelings for Buffy.
Giles listened to Spike and almost felt sorry for him when he expressed his concerns. Then only reason he almost felt sorry was because Spike had some of the same concerns he was thinking of but he knew they were for different reason. For him Buffy was like a daughter, for Spike, well he didn't want to know what Spike thought of Buffy as.
"Spike, I'm sure we'll find her. We'll just have to do a little bit of research. We'll find this thing, fight it like usual, and get Buffy back." Giles said and noticed that what he said had calmed Spike down a little, but it hadn't helped him a lot since he was still as worried as ever for what he had just been told
"Willow, I need you to come over to my house for a couple hours." Giles said into the phone.
"Sure. Is everything alright?" Willow asked concerned. Giles had called her while she was out doing something with Tara and when she got back to her dorm the light on the answering machine had been blinking.
"I'll explain it when you get here." Giles said and then the two said goodbye and hung up.
"Alright, everybody's here. I think we should get started." Giles said about half -n- hour later.
"Giles, not everybody is here. We're missing Buffy." Xander said and just saying that made Spike cringe.
"I know that's why we're all here. Spike, was out and he saw something that made her disappear. Xander, you and Spike our going to gather weapons up and make sure they're ready, Willow, I want you to do a locator spell, and Tara, you're going to help me with research." Giles said authoritatively and everybody went to do what they were told.
"So what do you think happened to Buffy?" Xander asked Spike when they were working.
"How am I supposed to bloody know?" Spike answered angrily.
"Whoa, no need to get all 'I hate the world' there. I was just trying to make conversation." Xander said taken back a little.
"Well, I don't want to have a conversation!" Spike shouted and he stormed off.
"Why did Spike leave?" Giles asked as he came around the corner to find Xander standing there just looking at the door.
"How am I supposed to know? I was just trying to make conversation and be friendly, but does he want that, no." Xander said a little angrily.
"What did you say to him?" Giles asked.
"I only asked what he thought happened to Buffy. That's all. The minute I ask that he goes off on me." Xander said as he and Giles walked into the living room where everybody was.
"If Spike comes back I don't want any of you to mention anything to him about Buffy disappearing." Giles told everyone.
"Why do you care all of a sudden for him?" Xander asked confused.
"I don't really, it's just we need him to help us he's the only one who saw this thing and we need him to identify it and plus if you guys saw him when he came in you would know what I mean." Giles said as he wiped his glasses.
"What do you mean, Giles?" Willow, who had taken a break from the locator spell, asked.
"Just that when he came here he was all worried. He turned to me for help and I don't mean for information on how to find Buffy but he asked me for advice kind of." Giles said, not sure if he should tell everybody what Spike had said.
"Alright. We'll keep our mouths shut." Willow said looking mostly at Xander who knew what she was saying.
Spike knew he couldn't go back, because if he did he might break down in front of all of them. He really hadn't meant to snap at Xander, but just thinking of Buffy missing got him upset. He decided that the only place that would be all right to go to was the bar 'and maybe I'll get some answers there' Spike thought.
"What can I get you?" the bartender asked.
"Let's see, you can get me some bloody answers." Spike snapped and he knew he really needed to calm down soon.
"How about I get you a beer and then maybe then I can answer some questions for you." The bartender said as he handed Spike a beer and finished wiping the countertop he had been washing when Spike came in.
