BATHE, ENGLAND - 2017
Willows stares at the note, sitting of the bed that they have shared for over a decade. She reads the note to Buffy.
WILLOW-
"'Dear Love, I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore. I feel like I'm driven a wedge between you and your family, Maple in particular. I love her so much...but she will never accept me. I never intended to replace Tara, for you, Gia, or Maple. Just remember I love, always. Kennedy.' (Willow is in tears towards the end). Oh, Goddess, Buffy.....I can't breathe." Buffy hugs her tightly, not wanting to let go.
BUFFY-
"It's going to be okay....okay....okay." Tears begin to roll down Buffy's face, and land on Willow's shoulder.
What Buffy and Willow don't know is that Maple is right outside the door, and she is crying. Kennedy was right, she would never replace her mom. But she loves her adopted mom so much, it hurt her to see Willow in so much pain. 'I have to find her, and tell her,' Maple thinks to herself. She slips into another room and Willow and Buffy come out. Willow has to go tell Gia. 'Oh, Goddess, no...not Gia, too. Damnit, I've been so selfless.' Later that night, after everyone has gone to bed, Maple sneaks out to find Kennedy. She has to.
Maple drives Spike's motorcycle into town and parks it in a parking lot. She pays the attendant, and sents off to find Kennedy. The only way out of town was the bus station, three blocks away. She walks up to an Information Station and pushes the voice command button.
COMPUTER-
"Welcome to Bathe, how may I help you?"
MAPLE-
"Bus schedules, departing."
COMPUTER-
"Only one is schedule, Bathe to London, leaving in one hour 25 minutes." She closes out the window, and starts towards the bus station. That must be Kennedy's way out of town. Suddenly, she's pulled into an alley. A vampire is trying to sink his teeth into her neck. Her holds up a large wooden cross that she always carries with her. The vampire backs off and suddenly explodes into dust. After the dust settles, Kennedy is standing in front of Maple. Her eyes are red, she has been crying for hours.
KENNEDY-
"What are you doing here? Go home."
MAPLE-
"Bloody hell I am. Listen....I never made an effort...with you. I'm sorry. But you have to come back. That was been going on, it's not your fault. It's mine."
KENNEDY-
"Maple, I can never replace your mother...and I would never try."
MAPLE-
"I know....it's just....I have been so angry with this world...the world took my mother away....." She starts crying. Kennedy, timidly, hugs her, but Maple grabs her hard. "Kennedy....I'm so sorry."
KENNEDY-
"It's okay....it's going to be okay...." She lets go of Maple. "C'mon, let's get back....I think Willow is worried sick."
On the outskirts of the estate, the demon and his minion watch the house from the woods.
DEMON-
"Is the spell ready?"
MINION-
"Yes, master."
DEMON-
"Call them to me."
