Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Five
Merry Christmas, Buffy by Ksue

Buffy and her friends sat in the living room on New Year’s Eve with their prodigal honeys. She noticed that Oz never stopped looking at Willow. Not even when someone was talking to him. Xander and Cordelia had begun to bicker, just like old times. Buffy had never realized how much she missed the noise. And Angel was exactly the same. He spent a good portion of time with the trademark brooding face, even though Buffy could see through it. She knew that he was happy. And when he did grace her with one of those half smiles, her heart flip flopped in her chest. Giles and Olivia had flown back to London for New Year’s, but he promised to be back before school started again. Joyce had made herself scarce tonight, choosing inventory at the gallery over watching six young couples smooch at midnight.

“Buffy, why do you think Glory’s backing off?” Willow asked, running her fingers through Oz’s hair.

“I don’t know and I don’t care. Maybe she was filled with the Christmas spirit and decided to let us be for a while. But really, I’m in a see no, hear no, speak no evil mode.”
Buffy looked at Angel who looked concerned.

“Who’s Glory?” he asked.

“Oh I forgot you didn’t know. Well, I guess none of you know. Let’s have a briefing session before the ball starts to drop,” Buffy suggested. All of the couples untangled themselves and sat in a circle.

“Okay, Glory is a hellgod who was expelled from her home dimension. She wants to go back, but the only way for her to do that is to open a portal with this bundle of mystical energy. That energy just happens to be Dawn. Glory doesn’t know that it’s Dawn, but she knows that I know where it is. She wants it, but we aren’t giving it to her,” Buffy explained.

“Have you tried killing her?” Cordelia asked as though everyone in the room besides her was stupid.

“No, Cody, we haven’t. Of course we’ve tried killing her. She’s a god, it doesn’t work. She got hit by a god damn bus and she didn’t have a scratch on her,” Buffy sighed in frustration.

“Well, what do you know about her?” Oz asked.

“We know she a hellgod and that she has these scabby little minions that do her dirty work. She loves fashion. And she can’t be killed,” Xander offered.

“Everything can be killed, you just have to find out the weak spot. Even gods aren’t immortal. Not when they’re on this plane of existence,” Angel explained. Buffy looked at him.

“Have you ever run into Glory before?” Buffy asked hopefully.

“No, but I’ll make some calls and see if anyone has. But I’ll do it tomorrow. As long as she’s leaving us alone for now, I say we enjoy the holidays,” Angel demanded.

“All in favor?” Buffy asked. Everyone in the room raised their hands. Both hands. Buffy nodded.

“Okay then, let’s party,” Buffy smiled.

“You know, there’s a party at Omega Kappa tonight,” Willow said.

“Are they doing the whole ball drop thing?” Xander asked.

“Yeah, and then the party keeps going until the next night. It should be in pretty full swing right now,” Willow said.

“Let’s go,” Cordelia said, jumping to her feet. Frat parties were her territory.

“You ever been to a frat party?” Buffy asked Angel as they all stood to grab their jackets.

“No, why?” Angel asked.

“You’re in for a wild ride,” Buffy smirked.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The frat house was thumping with music so loud Buffy could feel it in her bones a mile away. The house was huge and white with the Omega Kappa symbol over the door. She squeezed Angel’s hand as they entered. Willow, Oz, Xander, and Cordelia left to find the dance floor.
“We don’t have to dance,” Buffy shrugged, knowing Angel hated it.
“No, let’s dance,” Angel said, tugging her towards the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around her waist and they danced close. Buffy remembered when they used to dance at the Bronze for hours, totally lost in each other. That’s how it was now. She looked into his eyes as they danced the night away.
“Get ready everybody!” a voice shouted as someone turned on a big screen television. The ball in Time Square lit up the screen.
“Five, four, three, two…ONE!!” Everyone erupted. Angel grabbed Buffy and kissed her passionately. Buffy noticed that for the first time in years, all of her friends had someone to kiss at midnight.
A/N: Hope you guys enjoyed it!!! It’s a little shorter than I would have liked because I’m in school slacking off right now, but I promise a long next chapter. Leave me something!
