Xander sat around Buffy’s living room the night after Christmas feeling sorry for himself. Buffy had Angel, Willow had Oz, even Olivia had flown in from England to be with Giles. He had nobody. He didn’t know why he was feeling this way, it wasn’t anything new, but at least the last few years he had been able to commiserate with at least one other scooby. Not this year.
Buffy was sitting on Angel’s lap, one hand stroking his hair. He looked up at her every once in a while, like he was just making sure she was real. Oz and Willow were curled up together too. Joyce sat sipping coffee, beaming at the young adults. Everyone was happy, why couldn’t he just get on board?
“Xand?” Buffy asked, looking expectantly at Xander.
“Huh?” Xander asked. He had obviously not been paying attention.
“Aren’t you going to honor us with a showing of the Snoopy Dance?” Willow smiled. Xander laughed.
“Sure, Will.” Xander stood and gave them all a brief look at his master skills. Everyone laughed and clapped when he was finished.
“Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week,” Xander said as he gave them all a bow. His spirits had lifted a little.
“Oh my God, you still do that stupid dance?” Cordelia’s voice asked from the doorway. Xander spun around to face the brunette beauty.
“Cordelia?” Everyone chorused.
“Well, yeah. What, you thought I was just gonna stay in L.A. with a diving P.I. agency while everyone in my life was here? I’m not stupid,” Cordelia spat. She was the same girl she had been when she left.
“Cordy, what did you do with Wesley and Gunn?” Angel asked.
“Wesley went back to Britain, Gunn went back to his ‘homies’. So, I came back here,” Cordelia shrugged.
“What for?” Buffy asked, a little more harshly than she had meant to.
“It doesn’t really concern you, Buffy. Actually, I came to talk to Xander,” Cordelia sighed, looking at Xander, sitting on the couch with his mouth hanging open.
“Sure,” Xander stammered, standing up and following Cordelia out onto the porch.
“Sit. Okay, I want to talk to you, no sarcasm from either of us. Just our true feelings,” Cordelia stated. Xander nodded and waited for her to continue.
“Okay, so, I miss you. I’ve always missed you. I can’t say that I’m any less mad at you or Willow for doing what you did, but I’m willing to look past it. I can’t really forgive you, it’s just not my style, but I can put it aside. Xander, I’ve never felt for a guy the way I feel for you, and I can’t just ignore it. So, what do you think?” Cordelia asked, taking a deep breath and looking petrified.
Xander didn’t bother with a verbal response, he just leaned forward and kissed Cordelia softly. She relaxed and melted into his arms, kissing him back.
“I missed you more than you can know,” Xander whispered, taking Cordelia’s face in his hands and looking hard at her. Then he kissed every part of her face.
“Xander! That tickles,” Cordelia protested.

“I guess that means they’re back together,” Oz shrugged after hearing Cordelia’s squeals. The whole group had been listening intently.
“I guess so,” Willow sighed.
“It’s good to know that Cordelia can get past things, though. And, the whole gang is back together!” Buffy smiled, snuggling closer to Angel. He hugged her tightly.
“My Lord, it’s just like high school,” Joyce sighed. Inside, she was glad that Buffy and her friends were all back. Even Angel.
A/N: So, I guess I didn’t keep Cordelia coming back a very big surprise. I did do a ton of foreshadowing. Anyway, hope you guys liked this chapter! Let me know!
