Angel sat quietly by the fireplace, reading his novel. Nothing was more relaxing than spending the day just reading, following a night of slayage and action. The front door opened down the hall, stirring him from the pages.

"Hello?" he called before Buffy appeared, still slightly clutching the bruise on her cheekbone. "Buffy, it's Saturday. What are you doing here?"

"I was bored, mom's not home, so…you know, I just decided to pay a visit!" the vampire could see something was visibly wrong. "Maybe not. There's this guy, and he says he knows you."

"Where'd you get-"

"Hello Angelus." Dylan called walking up behind Buffy. Angel knew the voice, the face, but he didn't know where from.

"Who are you?"

"You don't remember me, friend?"

"Uh…Angel, this is Dylan." Buffy told him. But to the vampire, it was more of a reminder, or rather a sack of bricks in the face.

"Dylan *Devons*." Now that was a whole dump truck of bricks.

"What are you doing here? You can't be…"

"I see you finally remember me. And Angèlique too, right? November 28th 1898, you went on such a rampage. Pity mine's was the last blood you ever tasted. Come December 1st, you couldn't kill anymore. You loved following and tormenting Angè, didn't you?"

"Buffy, get out of here." Angel told the Slayer.

"Or what, she's going to kill me? A harmless Slayer can't hurt me more than a bullet can you. Aw, it hurts to see the man, or vampire, who so ruthlessly handed over my family and my only love cower." Dylan waved his hand and Buffy was frozen stiff in mid-lunge. "Well, let's see how you like it when you see the only person you ever truly loved killed right before your eyes."

"You touch her, and I'll do more than bite you." Angel threatened, slipping into game-mode.

"You are definitely in no place to threaten me. It's only 4 in the afternoon and your fireplace is going." Dylan started towards the vampire, but stepped back towards the frozen Slayer. "Who to kill first? Do I let you rest in peace, or rest with the haunting image of seeing your darling Slayer destroyed like mine was?"

'No! You can't! She's just an-' "-Innocent girl!" the younger Dylan reclaimed control and Buffy was unfrozen. "Huh? Why does this keep happening?" Angel growled and slapped him upside the head as the Slayer gave him a hard kick in the back. Dylan dropped, out, and her foot met the vampire's face.

"Oops! Sorry Angel."

Dylan began to reawaken to hear shackles and chains, when he realized he was being chained up.

"Wh-what's going on?" he asked groggily, raising his hands up to examine his head. He discovered the shackles were around his wrists and ankles, and he was up against a wall. In front of him was Buffy, and to her side was that guy his grandfather was snapping at. Only his face was like a monster from one of his storybooks from when he was a child. "Who the hell are you!?"

"Why are so damn psycho, Dylan?" Angel questioned, his face changing back.

"I'm sorry, it's not me."

'You stupid SOB! You tell them anything and I'll-' "-Drive you more nuts than that whore Drusilla!" the elder snapped.

"Not you, huh?" Buffy asked.

'I swear-' "-It's not me. It's my-"

"Don't!"

"Grandfather!" Dylan felt the spirit surge with anger inside him. "Help!!!" the boy's back arched with the pain of the raging intruder. His eyes kept changing with the transactions and his body jerked up and down, convulsing and ejecting his three course lunch all over the floor. Both Slayer and vampire stepped back, half in disgust of the vomit, and waiting until the convulsions subsided. Dylan felt his grandfather trying to rip him apart, but he suddenly felt the force gone. Nothing was in him except himself. Weak from the jolts and convulsions, the Devons boy gave up and slipped back into unconsciousness.

Buffy and Angel looked between each other and to the still boy.

"You should go get the others. I'll try to clean this up. We really need someone who could tell us what the hell is going on, all I know is that this one young man I killed before I got my soul back…is back." Angel explained. "I'll tell more later. Just go."

Buffy looked again to Dylan and walked off.

"Now just how did Dylan make it through a century?"
