Faith quickly threw her partner into her waiting stake and looked to the door,where the others from the alley were walking in.Willow's figure kicked ran from the vampires to get something to arm herself with,and Xander,Rose and Jack were backing into a corner where they would hopefully be safe.Buffy dusted her opponant and looked around the room.Angel was fending off pretty well,Willow had staked the demon.coming up to the three on the wall and the immortal population was decreasing with loud screams and dust puffs by the second.Soon there was less then five wandering around,included Trick and Cal.
"Time to move." Xander said to the lovers.They followed him,ducking away from the vampire who was going for them and moved slowly to the open door,when Jack felt an icey grip on his arm.He turned and found Cal in his face,teeth showing venomisly.Cal brought his fist back and slammed it in the blonde's face,sending Jack to Xander.Seeing the boys were down,the vampire grabbed Rose roughly and dung around in her dress pockets.
"I love the new outfit Rose,but I need something that is very valuable to me." he hissed.
"No!" She wriggled away from him,scratched him across the face and ran.Jack got up and punched Cal back.The demon grabbed his fist,twisted his arm and flung him into the table in front.
"You're just a friendly little vampire,aren't you Caledon?" Xander asked.Cal faced him and the boy's foot connected with his nose.Xander continued his attack as Trick looked on,watching the remaining vampires get dusted by the soulful betrayer and his friends.The former businessman got ahold of the weak slayerette and pushed him ontop of Jack as he was getting up,knocking them both to the floor.He saw Rose standing in the corner as Buffy and Faith moved off to hit Trick.Seeing she was vulnerable, Cal went in for the kill and his other prize.
"Hello Rose." he greeted,slipping out of game-mode.The red-head was showing her fright,unarmed and open.Cal advanced and grabbed her by the dress.Rose kicked him hard with her highheels,but he didn't let go."Where's the necklace you stupid little street rat? Huh?" he spun and held Rose to his chest,in front of Buffy's raised stake.Cal growled loudly,continuing to go through his ex-fiancee's pockets.He cursed loudly,pushed Rose roughly the Slayer and fled,weaving away from Willow and Angel.Trick grinned at the older vampire and went after his 'child'.
"Is everyone okay?" Xander asked,scrambling to his feet and walking to them.
"Yeah." came the other's simutanious responses.
"What was he looking for?" Angel questioned,slipping out of game-mode and rubbing the blood from the small scrape on his cheek.
"I don't know." Rose said back quietly.
"I think we've had a little too much fun tonight.Let's go tell tall,tweed and bookish." Buffy suggested,walking to the vampire.Rose and Jack followed after they'd gone out,and Willow and Faith struggled to keep the sick and weak Xander from losing his supper all over the Bronze.
"What happened?" Jonathan asked as he came from the washroom door,where he'd been for the entire thing.

"Now Mr.Hockley is a vampire?" Giles asked after Buffy and Faith had done explaining the brawl that had happened at the Bronze the next evening.Willow and Oz,as usual,were looking up information over the net.Angel was idely flipping through a book of false demonology shipped from the Watcher's Council,he was more engrossed in the novel he'd brought along.Jack was busy sketching in the notebook he'd salveged from the wreakage before he'd been rescued in the lifeboat,the pages still containing a small trace of water but otherwise perfect,and Rose was contributing to the Slayers' report.Xander had once again fallen sick,and wasn't there."Quite odd for a man,or demon in this case,of that intellegance to be stalking a pair of teenagers."
"Giles,think.Rose was his fiancee.Jack stole her from him.They magically got carried forward to a place where there are more weapons at his disposal.Don't you think Cal would try to get revenge? They also have that diamond."
"I suppose you're right Faith.But this soon? You three only arrived here 3 days ago."
"Newly turned vampires try to eliminate their live enemies even hours after being sired.Then they go out look for harder kills." Angel told him,speaking from experiance.
"You'd know a lot about that,huh?" the brunette Slayer replied.Angel just looked to them,not saying anything.But the familiar feel of sadness was starting to creep up again,and Buffy could see it,as she did so often when Xander reminded him of his nature.
"I've looked through all the files I could find on Mr.Trick.All I got was that he changes his personality often and hasn't sired many other vampires,he just 'feeds and runs'.But he's over two centuries old,so he has some experiance in the field." Willow reported,reading off the glowing.computer screen."Ow,now my head hurts."
"Here." Oz,who'd caught up with them as they walked to the school,got up behind her and began softly massaging her temples.Will smiled and went back to typing as the werewolf rubbed her head.Jack watched the two for a second and drew with the very tip of his charcoal.He stopped,set the charcoal down,blew the dust off the drawing and set the book down closed.Buffy smiled to herself and took the book before Jack could pick it up again,opening it to the first page.There on the paper were several portraits: One in the tp left corner of Oz and Willow,the former rubbing the latter's head like he was continuing to do.In the opposite corner was herself,along with Faith,talking to the watcher.In the middle of the bottom of the page was Angel,leaning boredly on his right hand and flipping the page of his novel.In the middle of the three was a beautifully detailed bust of Rose's face,from the collar up.
"Wow." the Slayer breathed.Angel,Giles and Faith looked over her shoulder and saw the drawing as she closed it.Buffy smiled sheepily at Jack."Sorry."
"It's okay.You all owe me a dime now." Jack joked.They smiled and went back to their assorted tasks as he drew the notebook back and began drawing again,Rose watching his hand strike across the page.

"You displicably told me I'd be able to get my revenge!" Cal yelled at Trick."I want the bitch and I'll get her anyway I can! Screw the Slayer,what ever the hell that is,I want Rose!"
"Whoa,slow down my friend.If you try to go up against the Slayer,you'll be guarenteed dust.You need to get your girlfriend away from them,in the open.Then you get supper and a bride,I get the diamond...and we can turn all those idiots back in 1912 into an army." Trick smirked and walked back into the shadows of the factory,leaving Cal by himself.The businessman cursed to himself and sat on an old crate,fumming.
