Dawn pulls her rental car up to what looked like a sewerage treatment plant. It has been two years since she got her Master's degree from Oxford. Despite the protests from Buffy and her friends, Dawn decided to go to the FBI Academy in Quanico, Virginia. She passed with flying colors and was known a Special Agent. She was a little surprised by her first assignment. Dawn had hoped to be stationed at the Los Angeles field office, so she could help Angel and Spike.
She got out of her car, and walked up to the gate. Suddenly, a panel slide down and a voice on the intercom spoke.
INTERCOM-
"Identify yourself please, and state your business."
DAWN-
"Special Agent Dawn Summers, FBI. I was told to report to this address."
INTERCOM-
"Please, place your right eye against the scanner."
Dawn did what she was told, and after a brief flash, the gates opened. As she walked towards the entrance, she right hand rested on the handgrip of her 9mm Glock, a present from Xander. He wasn't happy about her leaving, but he kinda understood. Since, the Hellmouth was done for, things of the demon front were pretty quiet.
She opened the door, and was greeted by a security guard. The guard walked towards her.
DAWN-
"Hello, I'm..."
GUARD-
"Special Agent Summers, reporting to Level 13. Watch your arms and legs, please."
DAWN-
"Excuse me." Suddenly, the floor she was standing began to go down. She realizes that she is on an elevator. After a couple of minutes all she sees is concrete walls until the view opens on a large library. Giles would love this. A very handsome looking young man was standing there, waiting for her.
MAN-
"Hello, I'm Special Agent John Meyer, you must be Agent Summers."
DAWN-
"Yes, I am Agent Meyer."
MEYER-
"Call me John."
DAWN-
"Dawn." The two agents shake hands. "So, what iis this place?"
MEYER-
"The front line."
Suddenly a voice from a water tank sounds through the intercom.
VOICE-
"Excuse, Agents Summers, could you please turn the pages?"
Dawn looks at the water tank and sees a being that looked kind of like the Creature From the Black Lagoon.
MEYER-
"Abe, don't scare Dawn like that."
DAWN-
"Oh, that's okay." Her response surprised Meyer, but not Abe.
ABE-
"Ah! Special Agent Dawn Joyce Summers of the FBI. Masters Degree in Ancient History and second in her class at Quanico. And the sister of the Slayer."
Dawn was now the one surprised. How did he know.
MEYER-
"Of course. Most newcomers freak out over Abe, but being from Sunnydale, I guess you're used to this."
DAWN-
"Yeah, but how did Abe...?"
MEYER-
"Abe's telepathic and empathic. He can read your mind."
DAWN-
"Cool." Dawn turns the pages on the four books that Abe is reading at once.
ABE-
"Thank you, for saying so, Agent Summers."
DAWN-
"Friends call me Dawn."
ABE-
"Oh, well...thank you, Dawn for turning the pages."
DAWN-
"No, prob."
MEYER-
"Well, you've met Blue....now it's time to met Red."
