Lena stared at Spike in shock for a moment then busted out laughing. “ You...have..a ....have...a....soul..hahaha..that is the funniest thing I have ever heard. A vampire with a soul. That is just classic!” She giggled some more but stopped when she saw the look on Spike's face. “ You're serious?” “ You're bloody right I'm serious!” “ I...I thought you were joking.” “ Joking! Why the fuck would I joke about having a soul?” “ I...I don't know.” She said looking down.
“ You don't know what its like having your soul returned after not having it for over a hundred years love. Without a soul you don't have a conscience. Return the soul and you return the conscience. Every bloody day I'm reminded of all the people I've killed and all the wrongs I've done in the past. They're all jumbled in my head, screaming at me for the things I did to them. Drives me bloody crazy it does. And the guilt. The guilt is almost bloody un-bearable.”
“ Wow...thats just..wow.” “ Yea well it aint a bloody picnic.” “ So..uh..how did you get your soul back?” “ Its a long story love. I don't wanna bore you.” “ It wont bore me. I'm really interested in knowing how a vampire gets his soul back.” “ Well..uh...I went to Africa...went through a series of tests and when I finished I got my soul back.” “ Uh huh but why'd you go to Africa?” “ Wanted to get away for a lil' bit.”
Lena stared at him. She knew that there was a lot more to the story then he told her. She had a feeling it had something to do with a girl. Shit like that always did. She sighed and decided to let it go for now. “ So, you the only vamp with a soul?” Spike thought about Angel for a moment. His grandsire used to be the only vampire with a soul. Now he was. “ As far as I know...yea.”
A/N: I know this chapter was short and probably boring but I had to get the introductions and stuff out of the way. I promise that the story will start to get better.Oh and I hope I wrote Spike ok. I've discovered that hes pretty hard to write.
