A few days later Xander entered the local diner and walked over to the counter.
“Hey, Xander,” the owner said. He was a man with a constant case of 5 o’clock shadow and he always wore a baseball hat, backwards to hide his bald spot.
“Hey, where’s Jenny?”
“She called in sick. That’s the 3rd time this week too. So what can I get you?”
“A donut and coffee to go.”
“Bear claw?”
“Yup.”

Xander ate his breakfast as he made his way down the street towards the arcade. He seriously hoped that he was wrong and Jenny was at home sick. Okay he didn’t want her to be sick but he preferred that then having her be under some zombie mind control.
Xander stared wide eyed and open mouthed when he saw the arcade. Every single kid was there all playing a video game or watching others play one but the strange thing was they weren’t making any sounds, not a peep. Xander walked into the arcade and still nothing, all he could hear were the various sound effects from the games that surrounded him.
Xander looked over to the right and his heart sank. There was Jenny watching some kid play a video game. He walked over to her to try and get her attention.
“Jenny? Jenny? Hello? Earth to Jenny? Come in Space cadet?” he said, waving his hand in front t of her face but she didn’t respond she just drooled a little.
“Can I interest you in a video game?” one of the various teens working at the arcade asked him, grabbing his shoulder and spinning him around.
“No thanks. Ow,” Xander said as he felt the guy grip his shoulder tightly.

Pike walked over to the arcade and found Xander playing one of the video games. He entered the arcade, “Xander? Xander? Shit,” Pike said grabbing Xander and pulling him away from the video game.
“Hey you can’t do that,” one of the employees said.
“I really don’t have time for this,” Pike said, trying to hold back a struggling Xander.
“Let me go Pike! Let me go!” Xander exclaimed as he struggled to get away.
Pike threw Xander over his shoulder and punched the employee, knocking him unconscious. Then he ran down the street towards his motel room holding a kicking and screaming Xander.

Xander sat tied up to a chair in Pike’s motel room, “Let me go! I was up to level 8! I almost had the high score! You better let me go or I’ll go kung fu on your ass!”
“Xander snap out of it man,” Pike said, giving him a slap across the face. Luckily Xander seemed to come to.
“Pike you’re one of the good guys right?”
“Yeah.”
“Then why am I tied to a chair?!”
“Oh sorry,” Pike said, untying Xander, “You went all crazy. I found you in the arcade all zombie like.”
“Okay, that’s it I refuse to be some guys butt monkey!” Pike laughed, “He, what were you doing at the arcade anyway?”
“I thought about what you said and I’m not going to go all demon hunter now but I don’t see why I can’t send the few demons I run into back to the hell hole the came from.”
“Let’s go kick some demon ass,” Xander said.

“That was kinda fun,” Xander said to Pike. They were both sitting in the local diner and they both had some demon goo on them as well as some cuts. They had just finished killing the demon that had been causing all that trouble. Pike just gave Xander a look of disbelief, “Okay, fun’s a relative term.”
“Here you go guys 2 slices of apple pie on me,” Jenny said, placing the plates in front of them.
“Thanks Jen,” Xander said. Pike just smiled at her.
“No, thank you. Who knows what would have happened if that guy had market all that software he had at the arcade he could have enslaved the whole planet. Creepy. I told you video games with evil,” she said walking away.
“The whole town things it was some computer program that did this?” Pike asked.
“Yup.”
“Figures, well at least the arcade is closed for business.”
“Yeah, but did you have to go all fire happy on the thing,” Xander said, taking about how Pike torched the placed after they had finished.
“Hey, we couldn’t have let those games get into the wrong hands.”
“Yeah, but did you have to commit arson. I mean they had really good chili cheese fries.”
Pike laughed and threw a napkin at Xander, “Hey, Buffy was a bad influence on me.”
