Chp; 18, Going on a Trip.
Conner ripped off the head of a zombie and tossed the body aside, “They keep coming!” yelled Conner.
Angel and Spike were surprised by what they saw, Conner, in an Emma form you could say. Emma threw one down and noticed to. She had real apparent feelings about it, but was in a state of ‘ah’.
“Wow,” said Lilah.
Wesley stood as he had before the zombies all froze in place for some odd reason. Wesley saw Gunn, one of his best friends before him. The blood seemed so important, but why was it dripping all over the ancient hand inside Gunn’s chest.
Things got transparent. Wesley didn’t really know what to think. He knew that it was odd. He probably in a state of shock that made things the way they were till there was a bright light. Not death for Wes.
The closet thing in a place like that. One step ‘up’ the white room. Wesley appeared there, Conner and Emma, Angel, and Spike appeared there too. Wesley went down on his knees. Nobody knew why they were there but they knew that they were there.
Nothing was in the white room anywhere, “Anyone in here?” asked Spike.
Wesley just looked down, Angel looked around, “Where’s Gunn?”
“He’s dead,” sighed Wesley, “The Harvester.”
Everyone was quiet all of a sudden. The were all quiet. If they weren’t looking at Wesley or the ground they were looking at Conner who healed and reverted back to his old form.
“How are you doing that?” asked Spike.
“I don’t know,” stated Conner looking over to Spike, “Does explain why I’ve stopped going bathroom, though.”
“We’ll ask those questions later,” said Angel, “HELLO!!”
“You don’t have to yell,” stated a familiar voice, Gunn.
Wesley looked up, “Gunn?”
“Nope,” smiled the depressing fake.
Wesley slowly stood up, Angel stepped forward, “Why?”
“Because I like his body, got a nice feel to it,” said The fake Gunn, “Well, actually I appear as anything you want me to be.”
“Stop playing games and tell us why we’re in here?” demanded Spike.
“Because you needed your asses saved,” said The fake Gunn looking at his fingernails, “An old little girl told me that you would need some help.”
“She’s still alive, I thought the beast killed her,” said Angel.
“No she’s dead we just kind of were talking years ago and things happened-”
“What do we do to stop this Old one?” asked Conner.
“That for me not to know and you to find out,” said Gunn.
“You don’t know,” said Emma, “You’re a waist.”
“Hey, you may be immortal down there but up here I can blow you into a cinder,” smiled the fake Gunn.
“Try it,” said Emma stepping forward.
“Don’t,” said Spike and Emma stepped back.
“You can’t even help a little bit,” said Angel, “This thing could very well destroy you.”
“Don’t I know it,” said F. Gunn, “But of course I’m about as old as he and think you’re a mockery to making so maybe we could be best friends.”
“That’s what Wolfram & Hart tried,” said Emma, “Look where that got them.”
“Bring Gunn,” back stated Wesley walking forward, “It is in your power to do so, bring him back, cause, you really don’t want this thing around as much as we do.”
“But your friend isn’t dead,” said the fake Gunn.
“Bring back Gunn, human, not zombie and we’ll save the world,” tested Wes.
“Tempting, but he’s already out of my reach,” he stated.
“Lie,” said Wesley.
“He’s not lying,” said Emma.
“I had a fun time talking to you guys while it last but, I’ve got tea at 4 with a nice Cannibal and he’s not one to get angry,” stated F. Gunn.
The room went up in a white flash and they were no longer there. Night still rain on the City of L.A. Wesley grabbed his books and went up to his room. Angel, Spike, Emma and Conner stayed down stairs. They stood in the lobby.
“Conner,” said Angel, “How long have you been this way.”
Conner looked to Angel, “Since the last time it rained. I guess, I haven’t had to go bathroom since.”
“Creepy,” said Spike, “So I guess Emma and Conner are like some kind of species or something.”
“Ewe,” said Emma, “I’m going to go up stairs.”
Emma took off upstairs. Conner folded his arms across his chest, “Gunn’s gone, probably,” sighed Conner.
“He was a good Bloke,” said Spike.
“Maybe Gunn is still alive?” questioned Angel.
The Harvester walked through the main isle of his temple. He picked the right isle and went down it to one of the Coffins. Each coffin was back in it’s original shape. He stood between two of them.
Harvester slowly lifted the top of the coffins to reveal Lilah in one and the other Gunn. They’re skin a had lightened great. [Gunn can’t get too light I hate to say it.] They looked sickly. The two looked up at him,.
“I make you my companions, we will assemble ourselves slowly, and make a true army, then we will kill and enslave. I see your eyes and know that you understand. You will be my right hands, you will attend to my orders, you are the beginning of my kingdom,” stated The Harvester.
They just closed their eyes in reply.
Angel spent the morning watching the News. There was alert after alert you could say. Left and right a Wolfram & Hart building had been destroyed. Angel turned off the T.V. and went into his office to relax, or at least think as well.
He leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head and then fell back and hit his head. Angel was out. That signal of a alert that went through his body at the time of the fall did not stop him from hitting the floor. Knock out dreams can bring up some weird crap.
DREAMS BEGIN: Angel was basking in the sun on a big pink float. He wasn’t burning he was just sitting on the float sleeping in the sun. warmth bathed on his skin. He drifted in the water.
Angel didn’t care where he floated. But he floated into a tunnel on the float, it looked like he was in the sewers. He dripped down the tunnel everything as serene as a tunnel in the sewers would get.
Angel opened up his eyes, woke up in his car, the back. But there wasn’t anyone driving. He sat up. “Hello?”
He looked around confused. Angel was starting to panic. He didn’t know where the driver was and had the sudden feeling that he was a mime. But he wasn’t. Angel backed away from the back seat on the passenger side because of some kind great white light.
Angel was standing in the white room. There was humming, then singing of a little girl, British. It was Emma, little one, “Come, come, come and see, two of which devour thee.
Taken from their ancient place, never to be in case. They don’t breath, they’re too fast they are something nothing to pass. Immortal they stand weak they fall. Fight and Fight with all your might they’ll never stay away.
Da, da, da, da, da.”
“That’s annoying stop that,” replied Angel.
“Come, come, come and see, two of which devour thee-” said The girl.
Angel walked towards her, “I said stop that.”
“Stop is a word,” smiled the little girl.
“Yes, it’s French for cheese,” he said seriously, like it really mattered.
“Tic, Toc, what are you gonna do old boy?” she asked.
“I’m not old, I’ll be 250 next month.”
“Things bother you, lots of things,” sighed the girl.
“You,” said the Angel.
“You’re going to die, soon,” she smiled.
“I am dead. “
“No, you’re a cool color, summer isn’t your thing,” said the girl.
“Somebody is coming.”
“Yes, somebody. I hate them. Go that way before it’s too late,” suggested the girl.
“Why am I here?” asked Angel.
“Because it’s cold outside,” stated the girl.
“Is this a joke?” asked Angel.
“Come, come, come and see, two of which devour thee.
Taken from their ancient place, never to be in case-” then she continued to hum it instead.
Angel turned as she started to hum. He turned and walked till he hit a wall.
“That’s not the way out,” said The young Emma as he left her.
Angel rubbed the wall and found a door knob. Angel pulled on the door knob and went through the door way.
Angel’s dreams filled with the night. Conner walked up to Angel in the park, “Hi dad. Liar, evil monster.”
“I’m not evil, I’m naughty, very naughty,” stated Angel.
Conner walked away. Angel followed him.
“Where are you going?” asked Angel.
Conner wasn’t there anymore. Angel kept walking. He saw Emma, Spike, and Buffy sitting on a blanket having a picnic of sandwiches and blood. They looked like an odd little happy family.
“Hi there Angel, sit have a sandwich,” said Spike happily.
“What kind?” asked Angel.
“Cat,” said Emma taking a bite of her sandwich.
“Sorry I’m on a diet,” replied Angel, he looked at Buffy, “Buffy, why so quiet?”
“She wont be talking,” said Spike, if something wrong had happened he’d be a sure candidate for denial.
“Is she sad?” asked Angel.
“No, she’s happy,” said Emma.
“Buffy?” asked Angel, he wanted her to talk to him, he looked at her for reply but she just sat there entirely straight.
“Why do you try and ruin our family?” asked Spike.
“He doesn’t mean to do anything, he’s not a hero,” stated Emma putting down her sandwich.
“No, I’m the hero around here,” said Spike.
“I just want to know why she isn’t moving,” asked Angel.
“She’s moving, but that’s not it,” sighed Emma.
“Money is,” said Angel.
“It’s not money, it’s life, Shanshu,” said Spike.
“I’ve signed that away,” stated Angel.
Spike too a drink of the blood before him and placed the cup down, “You’re going to burn in hell.”
“With fire,” laughed Emma.
“Don’t forget fire,” stated Spike.
“Sleepy, sleepy,” said Emma.
Buff was dead she fell backwards landing on the ground blood coming from her neck, there was a bite on both sides of her throat. Spike and Emma did cheers with there glasses of blood.
“She’s tired I’ll let her rest,” said Angel.
Angel walked away grabbing a bike from next to him and riding off away.
Angel road into a college classroom. The light of day shined through the windows onto the class. Teenagers all over the room sitting in the chairs. They looked like they were staring at Angel. They weren’t.
Angel heard some heavy breathing behind him. Emma and Conner sat in front of him whispering in each other’s ears. Angel didn’t know what they were speaking about but Angel turned around and saw Emma and Conner making out on the table.
The classroom was one of those biology ones. That’s how the table had actually been there. Emma was on top of Conner at the moment. She leaned in a kissed him holding his hands down on the table. She moved her right hand down his side as she held her hand into his hair.
Conner put his hand on her hips. He brushed his right hand gently up her back putting it in her hair and bringing her head down to him kissing her deeply like drinking her. He held her waist tight to him.
“I hope you’re having fun,” stated Angel.
Conner and Emma kept kissing. They pulled away and looked at Angel. Suddenly in a flash, Emma and Conner were sitting next to each other on the table, they were fully clothed they just looked at him.
Before he knew it, Angel was floating on his float in the middle of ocean. Angel kept going basking in the sun as he went. Soaking in the sun rays like energy.
“You’re like sand,” said Emma in his head.
“Ages old,” replied Conner in side that mind Angel kept.
Angel had made his way onto a shore. He saw two children a boy and a girl playing in the sand making a sand castle. Angel kept walking on the shore. The girl and boy waved at him as he went. Angel went to waved but noticed his hand was burning.
He woke up on the floor. He got up and walked down the stairs. [There isn’t any really.] Stairs out of his office. Emma was sitting on the bar and a group of people walked out, they were all dressed like former presidents.
George Washington one of them. Angel walked past them and through the front doors of the Hotel to outside in the Night. It rained outside as he stood in the garden. Gunn stood in a shower cap naked [I wouldn’t want you to see anything.] He acted like he was taking a shower.
“What are you doing out here?” asked Angel.
“Taking a shower,” stated Gunn, Abraham Lincoln came over to him and handed him a bar of soap, he was naked also, “Thanks Abe.”
Lincoln walked away. Angel was rather confused as Gunn started to suds his chest up in soap, “I think something is going to happen.”
Gunn blew some bubbles at him, “Oh sorry,” he went back to scrubbing up, “No you’re out cold on the floor.”
“I’ve had those days.”
“Wesley says your not a summer tone but cool color man,” stated Gunn, “Oops I dropped the soap, do you mind picking that up for me?”
“Yes, I know better,” replied Angel.
Angel turned and walked away. He walked back into the Hotel again. He was completely dry, he went in. He went past Emma who was on the bar. She was wearing one of those hats the Japanese/Korean [I don’t know, people over in the Philippines wear,] wear and she was playing drums with her chop sticks she had in her hands.
Angel went passed Emma and into Conner’s old room, “You left me alone in the park with them.”
“I’ve never been to the park,” said Conner, “I have no memory of it.”
“You were supposed to.”
“But then you lost me to Holtz,” stated Conner.
“I did,” replied angel.
“You deserve to die,” Conner grabbed him by the throat and his skin burned, “Then you trick me you all did.”
“But I don’t trick people.”
“That was your job, you were made to trick, a feeble minded fiend, a trick itself. You,” stated Conner.
“You don’t know what you’re doing?” replied Angel.
“I know you aren’t wearing any shoes,” said Conner.
There was a flash of light and Angel was back in the white room again.
“WHY’S EVERYTHING SO CONFUSING!!!!!!” demanded Angel.
[Real] Wesley was in his room. He was flipping through his books. Page after page. That didn’t console Wes. Wesley sat there behind his small desk for a long moment jus tin thought. He didn’t want to be in thought. He didn’t want to think.
Wesley picked up the book and looked at the cover. No name on it’s red velvet front. Suddenly he tossed the book across the room. Wesley picked up the other book and tossed it across the room.
Wes stood up. He looked at the last book he had. Then he tossed it into his room’s vase. Wesley stood there. No real coherent thought going through his mind. He just looked at the mess he’d cause. Wesley went over to the books and started picking them up.
“This, I loose a friend for my knowledge,” he spoke to himself putting his books down, “I lost Fred, then I loose Wesley, who next,” he sighed, “I killed them both, Lilah was left there in the room of zombies. Left for the kill. I killed Fred and Gunn, killed them,” he folded his arms, “But I couldn’t of killed them could I?” he asked himself, “But I did, my selfish reasons, I cared too much.” He rubbed his forehead, “I wanted to be good, do good things, I made everything bad,” he went towards his window, “My friends, disappearing right before my own eyes, right there, right in front of me. Nothing I can do about it, just watch everyone around me die till it’s my turn.”
“They’re being sneaky,” stated Emma back in the white room again.
“Why?” asked Angel.
“It’s a trick, like any good trick there’s sneakiness, sneakiness is the root to all that works,” said Emma.
“I’m afraid,” said Angel.
“Everyone can be afraid. I was afraid.”
“You were a murderer,” scoffed Angel.
“Still am, once you’ve murdered no matter what happens you can’t just stop.”
“Are you gonna murder again?” asked Angel.
“Maybe.”
Are you gonna kill someone I love?” asked Angel.
“Already have.”
“Who?” questioned Angel.
“Buffy, when I tore her heart out, with fear, angst, I made her wish she was dead,” Emma walked towards him, “I would’ve done it too, if it wasn’t for the drop in the stock market.”
“Why?”
“Why not?” she stated.
“Because she’s your mother, blood, she loves you,” said Angel.
“I can’t say, I’ve already told and can’t ever again or my alarm will go off,” said Emma.
“You’ll go crazy?”
“No, I need to be out of here by dawn,” said Emma folding her arms.
“So do I,”
“Or you’ll burn, everyone knows that,” said Emma.
“Who’s coming?” asked Angel.
“Old Friend.”
The were quiet for a long moment, everything had that awkward silence to it. Everything was soundless. Angel knew what he had to do and pulled up a secret compartment in the floor.
Angel walked through the dressed front door of a cottage. Inside was a whole lot of cats around the room. He followed into the hall. Everywhere was a lovely lit place. He walked into a bedroom.
It looked like it belonged to an old woman. Angel, old Angel, aged Angel. He was dressed like an old woman laying in the small bed. Angel looked like he was dieing of old age, as a woman. The group was sitting around him. Spike walked in. He looked like an old man he sat at the side of the bed in the chair and tucked his long beard in his coat as he still wielded his cane.
“Hello old man,” stated Spike.
“Speak for yourself,” said Angel.
“How you feeling mate?” asked Spike stroking his mustache.
Angel got a flash of something. Emma struggling. Something was holding her back. Making sure she could get away from it’s arms. “HELP!!!”
Angel kept talking to Spike, “Like I’m gonna die.”
Quickly Conner shoved him against the head board of the bed, “At my hands!”
Angel found himself standing on the top of a building. Conner before him. The night above them.
“Hi dad.”
“Why do you follow me so?” asked Angel.
“It’s what’s really there,” said Conner.
“You’re part in this, always has been, really,” said Conner, “You have no idea what I will do next do you?”
“Well that’s pretty.”
“I don’t like you much, Wesley should’ve kept you in that box,” scoffed Conner.
“You’ll do something bad, and I’m going to kill you for it, you know why, cause that’s what I do,” stared Conner, “And that makes me angry,” Angel’s face went it’s vampire way, Conner kicked Angel, Angel swung him around. He punched Angel, grabbed him and then slammed him to the ground, “The cure.”
Angel flipped back up but too late, Conner pushed him off the building. Angel fell to the ground.
In life Angel was jerking around.
Angel got up off the ground blood coming out of his mouth. Conner landed above him and flipped him over him punching him in the face, “Not the cure, I’ll fight that,” he punched him, “But you don’t touch her!!”
Angel kicked him off. Conner flew into a wall getting his head, his forehead was now bloody. Conner flipped back onto his feet healing quickly. Angel threw him against a wall.
Angel went to kick him but Conner ducked and grabbed him by the collar of his coat and threw him into a wall. Then he grabbed a stake out of his belt, he punched Angel twice then kicked him across the head and staked him. Angel turned to dust.
Angel woke up a lone in his office. He rubbed his sore head in disbelief and sat up. Angel heard something on the T.V. and ran out into the Lobby. On The news was the place were Wolfram & Hart had once laid. Nothing but what looked like a crater.
This hit Angel. Angel stood there in complete silence. This had his him at that moment all of a sudden. Gunn was gone. Gone to him, they didn’t know anything different.
Angel watched the helicopter view on the T.V. So many deaths, “Is this what I have to look forward to hell?” Angel watched the left over, “The entire population will be destroyed or enslaved by something I can’t defeat,” stated Angel.
“You’re not even bleeding given it a go,” said Spike from behind Angel.
“What do you want Spike?” asked Angel.
“Came on out here when I saw you in your fortress of brooding throwing some kind of hissy fit,” stated Spike.
“I wasn’t,” said Angel.
“Then what’s bothering you?” asked Spike.
“You don’t know what it’s like,” said Angel.
“Must not because you seem fine,” replied Spike.
“I’m not fine,” said Angel turning towards Spike.
“Great,” said Spike, “You’re holding it on the inside. Like I care.”
“You have no heart,” said Angel.
“I have a heart old boy,” replied Spike, “I’ve got as much heart as you. More maybe, yeah, more.”
“I just lost one of my closest friends-”
“Yeah Angie, but would he want you brooding around as if he’ll come back if you wink enough sodding tears, I don’t think if you could cry an ocean you’d be able to pull that off,” stated Spike.
“Thanks for that information, I don’t think I could of lived without it,” said Angel.
“You better be happy I’m around,” stated Spike, “If I wasn’t around you’d be the world’s last hope.”
“Just up,” said Angel.
“It’s the truth, and you damn well know it,” said Spike, “So you hurt, he wouldn’t want you weeping, neither would Fred, or your Cordy.”
“It’s only me and Wesley left,” said Angel.
“You’ve got Conner,” said Spike, “Emma on certain days, a lot, and me.”
“I don’t need the pep talk Spike,” said Angel folding his arms across his chest.
“Well I can’t even believe that I of all people would be giving you a bloke such as yourself a speaking to about pep,” stated Spike.
“I know what I’ve got to do,” said Angel.
“Save this bloody world,” stated Spike.
“Why don’t you got out and do it,” said Angel.
“To be plain with you, I’m too lazy to do it on my own,” stated Spike.
Emma and Conner were in Emma’s room. Emma looked over to Conner who was standing in front of the miniature balcony, “Are you sad that Gunn’s dead?”
“I guess a little,” stated Conner, “But he might not be dead.”
“I guess,” said Emma, “Are you angry at Wesley?”
“I don’t have any reason, I’m kind of angry I guess because, Those were Wolfram & Hart people who where running test on you,” said Conner.
Emma stood up off the bed she was sitting on, “Don’t you wonder why the hell you’re like me.”
“I don’t care,” said Conner.
She sounded a little outraged, “I don’t know what I am, part vampire that all I can say, I don’t know if I’ve got a bleeding place in this world, probably do, I’ve got these abilities that I never wanted.”
“Then that means we both have a place,” said Conner.
“That mean, you get too blood attached as well, you’re happy you’re like me,” Emma scoffed, “Bleeding happy that what.”
Conner just looked at her, “I’m stronger now.”
“Yeah before you know it I’ll be the only one you can physically touch,” said Emma, “Do have any idea what it’s like to try not to touch anyone, The demons, that I kill, I’m always picking up memories, if I use my hands.”
“Then I’ll just make sure I don’t touch anyone,” said Conner, “Cause I don’t really care at the moment.”
“You don’t understand how refining that is, if you’re not around I have no one to sit next to me, no one, no human touch, no touch that’s just normal, that’s making me crazy,” stated Emma pacing pulling her hair a little bit, pulling it down in front of her shoulders.
Conner went to Emma and put his hands on her shoulders, “See not refining.” Emma knocked his hands off of her, she folded her arms, “Isn’t anything good enough for you?” asked Conner.
“Yes, a lot is good enough for me, see I’m very happy with my shoes,” said Emma.
Conner smiled, “With your shoes?”
“Yes, I’m quite happy with them.”
“What if I throw you on the bed and take your shoes,” said Conner.
“That’s not going to help you any,” stated Emma.
“Lets see,” smiled Conner.
Emma backed up, “You can’t have my shoes.”
“Fine what else are you satisfied with?” asked Conner.
“Just back off okay Conner,” said Emma.
Conner looked down, “Okay.”
Conner leapt at her and grabbed her and started tickling her, pushed her onto the bed. Yup Emma’s ticklish. She was not going to yell to stop because of her dad being a vampire and hearing thing. But she was going to laugh. Not too loud though.
Emma didn’t want to smile, she was. She didn’t know why she was going to let Conner hang over her ‘frisking’ under her arm pits. Emma just fully figured out what tickling is and she couldn’t breath anymore.
Conner stopped tickling her. He looked down at her, “So that’s what tickling is?” she smiled.
“Yup,” said Conner shaking his head ‘yes’.
“This is ridiculous,” said Emma looking up at him from under him.
“What’s goanna make you want to be me?” asked Conner.
Emma just looked up at him she looked him in the eyes. She was thinking, Emma didn’t like this. Emma did, then she didn’t, “You trust too much.”
“Are you going to trick me?” said Conner.
“Well you’re laying on top of me, I don’t think there’s anything I can do?”
“Seriously.”
“No, I don’t want to trick you, as long as you don’t want to trick me, and don’t lie to me,” said Emma, “I guess I’ll be near you.”
“’Cause, I’m not refining, and I won’t ever lie to you, plus you’d know when I was, so I have no pointed, completely no point to lie to you,” stated Conner.
“You mean you would if you could?”
“No, I mean I’m not going too,” said Conner.
Emma looked up at him, she guessed that she could trust him, “I wish I could see your entire life, then I’d be able to trust you,” said Emma.
“Well I can tell you about my life,” said Conner, “Even though I rather not because, you don’t like speaking of yours.”
“You’re right, I know everything about you since you came into This dimension,” stated Emma.
“I know everything about you since you came into this one,” he replied. Conner leaned in and kissed Emma. Emma pulled away before he could get to her lips, “You don’t want me to kiss you?”
Emma then grabbed him by the hair and did it herself. Emma kissed him like she’d never kissed a guy, in fact Conner is the only guy she’s ever kissed. Like she went away for years and years and finally got back to her man. Even though she was just starting to trust him.
Conner pulled away, “That noise?”
“What noise?” Emma asked.
“Sounds like a heart beat, that’s yours,” said Conner, “You weren’t sad.”
“You aren’t either, you’re always horny,” said Emma.
“I guess we can feel each others feelings,” said Conner.
“Hear each other’s heart beats,” finished Emma.
Conner smiled, “I’m not always horny.”
“You’re a guy, you name should be ’Horny’,” said Emma, “If a pretty lady walked up to you on the street and offered you ’ A round.’ I bet you’d be willing.”
“No,” said Conner, “I don’t want to do that with anyone.”
“But me,” she said turning away from him.
“Not unless you’re willing,” stated Conner, “See, I like you that much, that I’m not looking for you to do anything for me.”
“You’re like a girl that way,” stated Emma.
“Thanks,” said Conner sarcastically.
Conner laid down next to her. Emma then laid on him, she smiled, “I’m goanna take your shirt.”
Conner started laughing, “Why?”
“I want to wear it,” said Emma.
“Really?” asked Conner.
“Wait,” said Emma, she pulled his shirt up and went up it putting her head out the head hole, “We’ll just share.”
Conner started laughing. They were making each other happy. Emma couldn’t really think up when she’d been happy, ever.
Angel was watching the news. Flipping through the channels on the little T.V. in the Lobby on the bar. Every channel had something about the Wolfram & Hart buildings all looking like an asteroid hit them.
He flipped through all the channels. Even the channels that usually didn’t have news on had the pictures and the news broadcasting about how ‘It’s unexplained.’ Angel kept watching. Then he flipped the movie off and grabbed a notepad off the desk behind the bar came to the bar with a pen and wrote down;
Come, come, come and see, two of which devour thee.
Taken from their ancient place, never to be in case.
They don’t breath, they’re too fast they are something nothing to pass.
Immortal they stand weak they fall.
Fight and Fight with all your might they’ll never stay away.
Angel looked at it. He was surprised he remembered it. He took the notepad and went to Wes’ room. Wesley was reading his Codex. Or he looked like he was reading it. Angel knocked on the door.
“Come in,” invited Wesley.
Angel walked in. Wesley put his book down, “Did you find anything?” asked Angel.
“No,” stated Wesley, “I really haven’t reading.”
“What’s wrong Wes?” asked Angel, “You’ve been very different, didn’t tell us, things, now you don’t want to do the job.”
“Gunn is gone,” said Wesley.
“I know that, but we’ve got to keep going,” said Angel, “Plus I have something for you.”
“Fred’s gone,” said Wesley, “I can’t do this, I don’t want to.”
“Wesley, in life you do a lot of things that you don’t want to do, I myself, I hate this, you I like this life?” asked Angel.
“I understand,” said Wesley.
“Do you understand that I might live another 100 years, hell, I might live as long as the world, till the day it naturally ends, I will have lost all my friends. But we need to what we can to do the right thing, so I hate to say it but get over it.”
“I see your point Angel, but I can’t really look past things like you,” said Wesley.
“I don’t,” said Angel, “I just do that get over it different.”
“I see no light in the future,” said Wesley.
“Here, then find some light,” stated Angel handing over the notepad.
Wesley excepted it and looked the saying, “Where’d you get this?”
“Well I fell out my chair and hit my head on the wall and had an acid moment,” stated Angel.
“This is in the Codex, they keep repeating it,” said Wes, he opened one of the books, “Here it is, I don’t understand.”
“Well, what could this mean, you know, ah, secret meaning maybe,” stated Angel.
“Come, come, come and see, two of which devour thee,” said Wesley, “Devour thee, two, two beings that devour people,” said Wesley.
“Drink their blood, 2 beings, read,” said Angel.
“Taken from their ancient place, never to be in cased.”
“What do you think that means,” asked Angel.
“Old beings never to be in cased, Old beings that should be restrained,” stated Wesley, “They don’t breath, they’re too fast they are something nothing to pass.”
“Something you shouldn’t get angry,” said Angel, “Immortal they stand weak they fall, well they’re strong most of the time.”
“Obviously, “Fight and Fight all your might they’ll never stay away.”
“I think we could get something from this,” said Angel, “We have to destroy this being.”
“2 beings, I’ll keep reading, definitely,” said Wesley grabbing up his books on his desk.
Angel stated, “Good.”
Angel walked out of the room. Wesley put his books down and went to the door locked it and then went to his bed and laid down putting the blanket over his head.
Angel went down into the Lobby. Conner, Emma, and Spike were down there sitting. Watching the news casts.
“I’ve watched all the news casts, everything is the same, unexplained, all of this,” said Angel.
“The End is upon us,” said Emma.
“Don’t worry we’ll save it,” stated Conner.
“I’m not going to worry,” said Emma in a mean way. Trying to keep up appearances.
“Any new information from Percy about what we’re doing?” asked Spike.
“No, we should find out more soon though,” said Angel, “Plus he’s really tired.”
“Hay I can go without sleep for 18 days so can he,” said Emma, she waited for there replies, “Fine no funny, Oh yeah, I don’t suggest it, staying up for 18 days.”
Angel turned the T.V. off. As soon as he turned the T.V. off the phone started ringing, Spike picked up the phone, “Angel Investigations?”
Then another rang, Conner went over to the phone, “Angel investigations.”
All the phones started ringing all of a sudden, “I’m not sure about the procedures for answering a phone,” stated Emma.
“Odd,” said Angel.
Conner then all of a sudden, dropped the phone he was holding and stood completely still. Spike hung up his, “I’m only getting gibberish from one lady.”
The phones kept ringing. They looked over at Conner who stood perfectly still. Conner walked over to Angel.
Conner blinked, he blinked again. Then again he blinked, “Conner?” asked Angel.
Conner stood in a Sporting goods store a year, almost two ago. Cordelia was wired to a makeshift explosive device. Angel stares shocked and frozen with fear for a moment.
“Son...you have to listen to me. This is about Jasmine,” said Angel to Conner.
“Jasmine's gone,” replied Conner.
“I know. We all felt it, that perfect love, then when you had to give it up-”
Conner had a sudden violent outburst, he pushed the items off a nearby table, “I didn't feel anything! I can't feel anything,” he scoffed, “I guess I really am your son... 'cause I'm dead, too.”
Angel walked towards Conner, “ You're not dead. You're just starting your life and-”
“No, you just weren't there before!”
Tears were coming into Angel’s eyes, “I know. I'm so-”
“Do not say you're sorry! Doesn't fix anything!!” yelled Conner.
“Ok, look, let me say this. I love you, son,” replied Angel.
“It's a lie.”
“It's not.”
Conner hung his head down, “It's always a lie,” he stated softly, “My dead mother couldn't even love me.”
“You're wrong. She did.”
“No,” said Conner, he shook his head, “No. She knew she couldn't.”
“She sacrificed herself because she loved you.”
“You tried to love me. At least I think you did,” said Angel.
“I still do.”
“But not enough to hang on, dad,” he glared, “You let him take me. You let him get me. You let him get me,” he turned to Cordy, “ Cordy... you swore you loved me. Where are you now?”
Angel came to Conner slowly, “Connor... you have to believe that there are people who love you.”
“Jasmine believed you when you said you loved her, but it was all a lie.”
“Jasmine was the lie,” assured Angel.
“No! She knew if you found out who she really was that you'd turn against her, and she was right. That's just what happened. People like you. People like this. None of you deserve what she could give you,” yelled Conner, he sighed, “She wanted to give you everything.”
“I know how that feels. 'Cause I want to give you everything. I want to take back the mistakes, help you start over.”
“We can't start over.”
“We can. I mean, we can change things,” said Angel.
“There's only one thing that ever changes anything... and that's death,” Tears went down Angel’s cheeks, “ Everything else is just a lie,” stated Conner who was crying as well, “You can't be saved by a lie. You can't be saved at all.“ Conner looked down at his explosive and starts to activate it.
Before Connor can harm himself or others, Angel punched him in the chin, sending his head back and pulled out the wire. Connor and Angel started to fight. Connor hit Angel in the head with a weight, then grabbed a baseball bat—he swung at Angel and missed.
Angel grabbed a bowling ball and punches Connor in the face with it. Connor punched back, but Angel grabbed him and threw him across the room into a wall. Connor fell to the floor.
Angel started undoing the hostages telling them to go, “Run. Hurry. All of you. Go.”
The hostages leave. Connor stood up and went to attack Angel again. They fought with fists and kicks. Connor threw Angel across the room, then starts walking toward Cordelia—the only remaining hostage. Angel sees this and smashes a display case containing hunting knives. He takes a knife and hurls it across the room, landing it in Connor's thigh before he reaches Cordelia. Connor fell to the ground, still trying to crawl to her. Angel pulled the knife out of Connor's leg, pulls Connor off of her, and pushes his back to the ground.
Angel hovered over Connor, holding the knife, “ I really do love you, Connor.”
“So what are you gonna do about it?”
“Prove it.”
Things went away in a bright flash.
Conner looked at Angel, “What did you do?” demanded Conner.
“What’s wrong Conner?” asked Angel.
“WHAT DID YOU DO!!” demanded Conner going towards Angel immediately, “Why am I here?!”
[As you see Conner seems to not know his past from the point of having his throat slit. See The chapter Title ‘Going on Trip’ was metaphorical. Angel got knocked in the head, ‘Went on a trip.’ Conner lost his fake memories, his mind has gone on a trip.]
