Angel and Drogyn moved briskly through the airport terminal at full speed. In front of them they wheeled Incarnates tomb

“We need to move,” Angel said insistently, “we’ve got to get back before Buffy does any damage.”

“The plan has merit Angel but do we have a craft to transport the tomb of incarnate?” Drogyn replied

“We’ll find something. We just need to get back to Sunnydale now!”

Suddenly a man stepped out in front of them. He put out his hand and stopped the trolley instantly. Both Angel and Drogyn looked up stunned at the man.

“How about this for a plan,” Xander said, “You give my tomb to me and I kill you both slowly and painfully.”

In one swift motion Xander pushed the trolley out of the way and advanced on the men. Drogyn drew his sword and stood ready. Xander looked at him curiously.

“Bad flight?” he asked, “let me guess not enough honey roasted peanuts”

“We shall defeat you demon you will not achieve you goal.” Drogyn proclaimed

“See now that was uncalled for.” Xander replied

Xander walked to Drogyn and grabbed the blade of his sword. He bent it sharply snapping the blade in two. Drogyn looked at the hilt then at Incarnate. Angel glared at the old one slowly he began to march up. Sensing his plan Xander moved at lightning speed and took hold of Drogyn. He gripped his neck tightly and glared at the vampire.

“Back off Angel,” he said, “Unless you want to take Drogyn home as hand luggage.”

Angel stopped. He put his hands up defensively.

“Alright. Just tell me one thing. What did you do to Buffy?” he replied

Xander rolled his eyes.

“Oh, right, it was the evil guy that messed with her head. Did you ever stop to think that maybe this is who she really is?”

“No, I know this girl, Buffy would never do anything like this.”

“So you watched her her entire life right?”

Angel thought about this statement. He had only watched her since her activation. He looked closely at Xander / Incarnates reaction.

“Buffy was worse then Cordelia when I found her at Hemery. As Xander, I had my fair share of bullying but with this girl she treated it like an art form. I heard of one guy she strung for eight months then dumped him on stage during the middle of the Prom. A person like that is a very rare find.”

“Picking on people is one thing,” Angel replied seriously, “but you can’t expect me to believe that she has been acting for three years. I don’t care how good you think she is.”

Xander shrugged.

“Who said she was acting? Everything she did and experienced as the slayer was completely genuine, I should know I was there, the acting only began after I told her to kill the wolf.”

Angel looked up in shock. He shook his head slowly. There is no way Buffy did that on purpose.

“No.” Angel replied

“Slayer girl gave me the heads up about Spikes weak attempt to stall you. This gave me enough time to stage Oz’s premature transformation.”

Angel looked at Drogyn his face was slowly beginning to turn blue from the demons grip. Xander shook his head slowly.

“She had you stake, line and sinker didn’t she Angel. You really didn’t think a slayer would fall for a vampire did you.”

“Considering she’s not the real slayer it’s not that surprising.” Angel replied, “you took that away from Willow.”

“Well, Willow’s got her own drama at the moment. By now I think she’ll be killing Giles.”

“What did you do?” Angel demanded

“Easy there hero. If you want to see Drogyn here alive you’ll keep your temperature in check. Also I don’t think you should be hanging around while Cordy and that Doyle are about to be killed by the slayer. I told her to watch them but she has little patients for this sought of thing.”

Angel looked at Drogyn. His condition was getting worse. Angel didn’t have much of a choice.

“What do you want?” he asked the demon

“You dieing comes to mind,” Xander replied, “it’s real simple find a piece of wood and push it through your chest. Go on.”

Angel looked around. Near him was a wooden shipping crate. Keeping his eyes on Incarnate he slowly walked over and broke off a piece. He walked back in front of the demon and hovered the stake over his chest. He looked closely at Drogyn.

In one swift motion he lifted the stake and threw it at Xander. Xander released Drogyn, leant around and caught it. Drogyn swung out with his elbow and caught Xander in the stomach. As he attempted to escape Xander reached out and caught him on the back of his shirt. He dragged Drogyn back in and twisted his neck sharply. With a loud snap Drogyn fell to the ground. Picking the stake off the ground he started to walk up to Angel.

“Why did you do that? That wasn’t the plan. I wanted you to die first then I was going to kill Drogyn. Now my whole rhythm is thrown out.” Xander said

“I’m so sorry for you.” Angel replied.

Angel swung out with a punch. Xander dodged it and caught him by the shoulder. He effortlessly threw Angel across the tarmac and into the wall of a hanger. Xander charged up and lay in with a series of punches. Angel doubled over in pain as Xander grabbed him by the throat.

“Well Angel it’s been fun.” Xander said

Angel glared at the demon as the demon raised the stake ready to strike . . .
