Chp; 12 Mother
The Group still stood where they had been. Emma turned to see Buffy standing at the door. Buffy stood with Faith, Xander, Willow and Willow’s girlfriend, Kennedy. Spike put his hand on Emma’s shoulder.
“Spike, you’re alive, why didn’t you tell me?” said Buffy walking forward towards Spike.
Spike held onto Emma’s hand, “Angel how about you take her?” Angel shook his head going towards Emma. Emma didn’t say anything or make a move. Spike took a breath, “Emma,” She looked at him, he said nicely, “Go with Angel.”
Buffy put on a confused face, “Emma?” .
Dawn walked over to Buffy, “It’s her, actually her,” smiled Dawn, “Little Emma.”
Buffy broke quickly, “Oh my God.”
Emma stared at her, she hadn’t in that time had an expression on her face. Just a sort of stare at Buffy. She folded her arms pulling away from Spike.
“Emma?” questioned Willow stepping forward.
“One and only,” said Emma.
Xander was a little surprised, “British, okay.”
“Little Emma all grown up,” said Faith smiling walking towards Emma.
Buffy walked towards Emma looked her in the eyes. Buffy looked so happy, her hand clapped over her mouth. Such a great happiness had settled into Buffy. She went closer up to Emma her arms going out to hug her.
Emma jerked away “Don’t touch me,” she backed into the wall behind her inhumanly.
Buffy looked at her confused pulling her arms towards her.
“She doesn’t like being touched,” said Spike clearing his throat.
“Is there any other slayers with you?” questioned Angel.
“10 of them,” said Faith.
Spike looked at Emma as Angel, Gunn and Conner did.
“We need to talk Buffy, Spike take care of Emma,” said Angel.
“I want to talk to my daughter,” said Buffy.
“Emma’s not much of a talker,” said Spike.
Buffy smiled at Emma, “But, she’s right here, her.”
“I know I’m corporeal,” said Emma gauntly.
Angel went up to Buffy’s side, “I want to talk to you, I know, this is a touchy moment, meeting your daughter again, but we need to really speak, alone.”
Buffy looked at him, “Okay,” she sighed, “If it’s so important.”
“Spike, take care of Emma,” said Angel.
Spike shook his head yes.
Night relaxed in no time. Night passed. Angel spoke with Buffy. A long conversation about Angels’ and Spike’s past, even Italy when they‘d gone to visit her. Angel didn’t reveal what he didn’t have to.
Angel lead Buffy around the hotel as he spoke to her. He ended up in the Lobby once again. The only people left in there were Spike and Emma. Everyone either went home were given a room.
Except for Spike and Emma.
Their time. Gunn stepped forwards as Angel lead Buffy off into the garden first of all. Emma watching Buffy.
Gunn spoke, “Dawn, Wood, Faith-” he started.
“Long time no see,” said Faith.
“Yes,” agreed Gunn, “I’ll give you and your uh slayers a room suitable to stay in just follow me.
“Okay,” said Willow, “I guess we’ll just continue when Buffy comes back, or something like that.”
People couldn’t stop looking at Emma. Emma didn’t like that. Everyone followed Gunn as he took them up the stairs. Conner sat on the bar.
Emma turned her head to Spike and looked at him.
“Are you alright Emma?” said Spike.
“I want to go to sleep,” said Emma.
“Okay,” said Spike, Conner watched them, “We should stay here.”
Emma sat down on one of the red couches next to Angel’s office. Emma laid down on the couch and Spike watched, he folded his arms to think.
Buffy looked at them, “So that’s how Spike got here but how did Emma get here?”
“Spike should explain but Wesley translated a prophecy that told of her and she came out of a portal, we took care of her for awhile leading up to today,” said Angel giving a blunt explanation.
Buffy put her hands on her face stressfully, “I just want to cry, Emma is a live, she’s a teenager, grown up, I can’t believe it.”
“I hope you guys enjoy your stay,” said Angel.
“It’s nice of you to invite us in and that, Why wouldn’t Spike want to tell me Emma was alive with him. She’s part of me, my daughter,” fretted Buffy.
“Spike has his reasons,” reassured Angel.
“I could almost hate him for not telling me, but Even though Spike didn’t tell me about her, I’m so happy he has her,” said Buffy.
“Emma will be okay,” said Angel.
“I just can’t explain it, I want to put my arms around her and never let go,” said Buffy.
“I have a son, Conner, from the same place and had his run around but when he came back I couldn’t describe it either. Except the hugging wouldn’t of worked he’s probably of kicked or something,” said Angel.
“A son, the world is changing vampires having children,” said Buffy looking at Emma as if Emma was the biggest chunk of gold in the entire world and it was hers.
“Don’t I know it, What’s your plans while you stay?” questioned Angel.
“Just maybe we could stay in L.A. I could raise Emma,” smiled Buffy.
Angel knew that wasn’t that much of a very good idea but he just acted natural and said, “Good.”
Faith, Dawn, Kennedy and Wood walked in from downstairs.
“This place is like huge,” said Dawn walking up to Buffy.
Quickly Emma flipped up off the couch and hit the ground crouched down she pulled a knife out of her boot and grabbed Faith by her hair holding her in as first hostage fashion. Everyone froze Spike woke up.
Faith stayed still because in that same instance Emma had applied that knife to her neck. Emma looked at her surroundings and let go of Faith. Terror went through Spike as he watched Emma wide eyed. Angel too.
“What the hell was that?” Faith choked from that little scare.
“In Quortoth it’s better you go to sleep armed,” said Emma looking down.
“She’s cautious,” said Angel.
“Something to start the morning,” said Spike standing up as Emma put her knife away into her boot.
“How about we get some breakfast what do you like to eat Emma?” smiled Buffy, she wanted to immediately take to bonding with her daughter.
Emma just looked at her cautiously.
Spike answered, “She likes pop tarts and turkey sandwiches.”
“I don’t like people grabbing me by the hair and threatening to kill me. But you’re good with me,” said Faith putting her hair back the way it was.
“Are you always armed?” asked Dawn.
“What do you think?” said Emma.
“How about that breakfast, Whatever you want,”
“I don’t want anything,” said Emma, she stood there for a moment, “I’m out of here.”
Emma walked off, “Emma,” said Spike, “Don’t leave.”
“Did I do something wrong?” asked Buffy.
“Don’t worry, I’ll go talk to her,” said Spike.
Spike caught up with Emma in the sewers. Emma had taken off running off from him. Spike chased her down the tunnel. Spike stopped running.
“Emma,” he called, “Don’t run, I’m an old man.”
Emma stopped running and turned to him, “Like a human would be, I don’t think so,” said Emma looking at him.
“I don’t want you to run form me,” said Spike.
“That’s the only thing I can do,” said Emma, “I messed up.”
“No you didn’t,” said Emma.
“Yes I did, that’s it,,” said Emma, “I messed the whole bloody thing up, grabbing that slayer.”
“But Buffy doesn’t care,” said Spike, “She wants to be there for you.”
“I don’t need her,” said Emma.
“You think you don’t, but Emma, you need a mum,” said Spike.
“You’re siding with her, I kill her,” said Emma.
“No you wont,” said Spike.
“That’s what I feel-”
“That’s what Reese taught you, but Buffy has been here hours and you’ve not done anything,” said Spike, “And you’ve been able to already do so much.”
Emma looked down from him, “She’s not supposed to be here.”
Spike put his hand on her cheek, “I’m proud of what you’ve been able to do Emma, You’ve held back.”
“I haven’t tried, I want to hurt her, that’s what I was raised to do,” said Emma.
“If Buffy wants to be near you let her, let her show you that she was never evil,” said Spike.
“I don’t want her near me,” said Emma, “You don’t understand, everything.”
“Just be good,” said Spike, Emma only looked at him.
Emma walked through the Lobby. Day had plainly settled in and it had turned into a normal day in fact. Except for the slayers in the Lobby training with each other. Emma stood there, she felt the eyes on the behind of her head, the eyes watching.
Angel’s eyes, Spike’s, Buffy’s. Buffy was quiet, she didn’t know what to say. Didn’t know what to do. Just watch, she put her arm around Dawn as they stood. Doing nothing rally. Faith walked up to Emma.
Faith spoke to Emma, “Now for the aching question,” stated Faith, “Can you fight, well?”
“What’s it to ya?” asked Emma.
“Girls lets see what the slayer daughter can do!” said Faith cracking her knuckles.
“You want to fight me?” smiled Emma.
“I wanna know what you can do,” said Faith, “The daughter of a vampire and a slayer, bound to have a lot, I mean, caught me by surprise this morning.”
Spike folded his arms, Emma walked towards, Faith., “Okay, I’ll fight you.”
“Alright,” replied Faith.
Buffy didn’t feel right about this, “Aren’t you worried Spike what about her getting hurt that‘s a slayer, Faith is a slayer?”
“Bring it on,” taunted Emma.
The slayers all but for Faith sat themselves down. Just a big group of people. One thing Emma always like, something she’d got from Spike is that, Emma didn’t mind showing off a little, [Plus I enjoy writing fight scenes.] Or a lot.
“I’ll try not to hurt you,” said Faith circling Emma, Emma circling back.
“No, give all you’ve got,” smiled Emma. Faith threw first punch, Emma ducked it. Then the next blow Faith tried to hit her Emma ducked again. Emma ducked again, then again, “I could do this forever!”
“Fine we’ll heat it up,” said Faith.
Emma quickly punched Faith in the stomach, then in Faith’s face before she could do anything. Emma then pushed her down onto the ground with her foot. Emma stood not even phased.
Faith with bloody nose skid across the floor. She flipped back up but before she could do anything Emma had jumped up and kicked her across the head, Emma jumped up and did it again throwing Faith to the floor.
As Faith was crawling back Emma kicked her in the stomach flipping her onto her back.
“How’s Faith getting knocked down so fast?” questioned Buffy.
“Wow,” said Xander.
“You think everything’s alright?” questioned Willow.
“Emma has more power then we see behind that punch. She can dust a vampire without a stake,” said Spike, he was happy.
Emma walked over to Faith, “You done, or do you want me to keep beating on you, or is how you like it.”
Faith went to punch her but she bent back getting missed. Emma looked around quickly. Emma took off towards the wall next to the bar, on the left, the right of Angel’s door. She jumped the slayers against it as they ducked down for cover. Emma landed against the wall pushing off of it and kicked Faith across the face.
Emma landed on all fours on top of the purple thing, “You done now?” Emma’s face turned into Concern, she jumped down, “ That’s not right, I held back.”
Buffy walked over with Dawn, and one of the slayers ran over to Faith. Emma walked over to Faith and bent down. She put her hand on Faith’s bloody forehead and healed her then backed up. Faith was as surprised as everyone that didn’t know Emma could heal. They watched her.
“You were out of you league, If I hadn’t of held back I could of finished you off in one move, but then again I’d be taking a chance of killing you,” laughed Emma, “Make a mess.”
“That’s my girl putting down a slayer,” said Spike making that smile that he did with his cheeks sinking in, Buffy and Angel looked at Spike, “Of course in a none fatal way, I don’t want her killing anybody.”
“It would’ve become a challenge if there was 10 of you slayers trying to get me but it’s just what happened,” explained Emma, Faith stared her in the eyes in a state of marvel, “Don’t worry, you were okay.”
A large box was moved into Lilah’s office. The box was large enough to where you could fit a person in it. Hamilton was watching the box being dropped off.
“I see we’ve received the order,” said Hamilton.
“Of course,” said Lilah.
“No, just to make sure,” said Hamilton, “You have everything, all my affairs in order.”
“Yours and mines,” said Lilah.
“Why would you need yours ordered?” asked Hamilton.
Lilah felt the wooden box’s cover, “Cause what we’re setting free, it will most probably start off messy, very messy.”
“I thought that’s how you like it,” said Lilah.
Lilah pulled away from the box, “Don’t get me wrong, I like it messy, just, if it’s playing the cards I give.”
“Ah, and Ancient earth old things really like playing your games?” questioned Hamilton.
“Life’s full of chances Hamilton,” said Lilah.
“This is something though, in the long run, we both know, we can’t mess up,” said Hamilton, “Especially the sacrifices I’m making for this.”
“Duh,” said Lilah.
Spike was looking around the room that Buffy had been given to stay in. Nice, kind of like Angel’s. Buffy sat down on her bed.
She had to brake some ice, “Spike you guys aren’t telling us something.”
“Like what there’s nothing I can tell you,” said Spike, “I’ve told you all for your ears.”
“She healed Faith, healed, powers,” said Buffy.
“Wesley says slayer and vampire don’t mix so she’s got heightened abilities. We don’t know how many abilities she’ll be getting any time soon,” said Spike.
Buffy took a breath, she didn‘t know naturally, well, still what to think, she said what came to her mind first, “Oh, I missed that baby, I loved Emma why can’t she remember that.”
“Emma doesn’t forget,” said Spike.
“She must have, I try and get closer, I walk with her but I feel like we’re not even in the same room,” sighed Buffy, “I loved that Baby with ever inch, molecule, whatever of me, loved her so much, I still do.”
“You can’t believe she’s back still, second day I knew I was her father I got drunk because she kept running off,” said Spike.
“Then what?”
“I killed Reese.”
“Reese, Timothy Reese?” asked Buffy recognizing that name.
“Yeah, the ex watcher who took her to Quortoth and raised her,” said Spike, “Wasn’t any good at it either.”
Emma walked in, Emma acted like a lost person, “What happened to Mr. Floppy?”
Spike smiled, “Mr. Floppy?”
“You remember that?” asked Buffy.
“He had those big beady eyes and a bow tie, he was pink,” stated Emma, “Kind of in a traumatizing way.”
“Do you remember anything else?” asked Buffy, Buffy felt that she was getting somewhere, opening Emma up, slowly but surely.
Emma then walked out of the room. Spike sat on the bed next to Buffy, “She’s not very understandable, or well,” said Spike.
“I thought I was really getting somewhere,” said Buffy, she put her hands on her face, she started to sound like she was crying, “I want things to be perfect.”
Spike put her arm around her, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s not you, it’s me, I gave her away, I, I… she just doesn’t want me, I’m not a good mother,” cried Buffy.
“You’re a great mum, I bet you loved that baby, you probably even see that baby in Emma,” said Spike.
“I want to be with her so much,” said Buffy, “Doesn’t she want it, she just walks off.”
“I don’t know what Emma really wants,” said Spike.
“I never thought I’d be here,” said Buffy.
“Not here with me,” said Spike.
“What do you mean?” asked Buffy.
“I bet you didn’t think I’d end up being the father of your child, ever, well, when you were young and, around that time when we first met, and life, long, long ago, in the bloody stream of worlds,” stated Spike holding her hand.
“No, I hated you,” said Buffy looking up at him.
“Real helpful,” smiled Spike.
Buffy smiled back, “I don’t hate you now.”
“I know that,” said Spike, “I’m no blunt instrument.”
“I’m happy I had a child with you, even though I’ve kind of moved on, I really haven’t moved on all that much.”
“A child just makes you stuck,” said Spike.
“No, no, no,” said Buffy, “I never thought that, I was just happy, I loved her since I knew she existed, automatically.”
“Really?” asked Spike.
“Emma’s for greater things, she’s special, a child of the prophecies,” said Buffy, “I feel good just knowing that she’s got a great purpose.”
“But you want more,” said Spike.
“Entirely,” said Buffy, “I want to know so much about her,” smiled Buffy, “First word, step, when did she ever need to go bathroom.”
“Well, that’s a question all parents want to know,” said Spike sarcastically.
“Scared me to death she did, healed fast, yes, made me feel for some time as though I wa invincible,” said Buffy.
“Well,” said Spike, “I think you’ll learn to grow on Emma.”
“I sure hope so, I want to be near her the way a mother should be.”
Buffy was walking with Dawn later that night. They were talking together.
“She’s cute still,” said Dawn, “I’m just a little Freaked that she’s almost my age, etc.”
“Quortoth works in funny ways,” said Buffy.
“I heard from the other girls that have seen her around today what she does,” said Dawn.
Buffy and Dawn kept walking down the hall, “Tell me what she does,” said Buffy, “I have to know everything about her.”
“She likes to draw,” said Dawn, “Good at it too, I got to glimpse on of her drawings, but of course she keeps to herself.” Buffy sighed, Dawn looked at her, “I know you miss the old days.”
“I’m a little afraid to try and talk to her,” said Buffy.
“You shouldn’t be afraid,” said Dawn.
“I spoke to her and it’s like we don’t mix, we’re two un mixie things, I hate to say,” said Buffy.
“Buffy, you’re not two un mixie things, you’re just not used to each other,” said Dawn.
“You’re too young to diagnose me,” said Buffy.
“I hate to say it but, maybe Emma feels the same way,” said Dawn.
“I wish things could be more plain, something, like right in front of my face,” said Buffy.
“Think, what would of happened if you hadn’t given up Emma?” asked Dawn.
“She might not even be here,” sighed Buffy.
“You made the right choice,” said Dawn.
Emma was traveling down the hallway towards them, she was just exploring as usual, she adjusted her sleeves of her black shirt as she walked, you could see the gauntlets of her blades under her sleeves as she moved them to cover.
Emma had heard the entire conversation, “Right choice,” she said gauntly.
Emma had walked into them. She was going to turn around, Buffy caught her though, “What do you like to do, I want to do something with you Emma.”
Emma looked at she turned towards her, Emma thought it would be a good idea to just give her a good answer, “Sometimes I go into demon bars and kill everyone in it, but the innocent, those cases don’t happen to often and they’re far in between. Most demons these days are afraid of me,” that sounded like a good answer to Emma.
“Want to go patrolling, you know what that is right?” asked Buffy.
“That’s a good idea,” said Dawn, “Really get in some mother daughter time.”
“I know what patrolling is,” said Emma.
“We’ll go patrolling then,” smiled Buffy.
Emma looked at her as if she was suspicious, “Okay.”
Angel was talking with Gunn and Conner.
“What’s that?” asked Conner as Angel opened a box of something on his desk.
“Something that’ll make sure everything turns out fine,” said Angel.
“Those,” said Gunn, “The nice blue tranquilizers.”
“You remember how many we had to use on her last time,” said Conner.
“Of course, just that’s why they’re stronger,” said Angel looking at the blue liquid.
“What if she doesn’t do anything?” asked Conner.
“Well then she doesn’t, but this, is of course, just incase she does,” said Angel.
“Just incase,” said Conner.
“Lets hope we wont be too late if anything does occur,” said Gunn.
Emma took the group to a nice little place a couple of blocks over from the Hyperion. A demon bar. Demons all over. A nice little place to carry on a good fight.
“I’ve always been fond of brawls,” said Emma.
“Emma,” said Buffy, “There’s too many here, what are you doing, I meant you could take us to a Cemetery.”
Kennedy, Faith and Buffy all were agreeing, Emma looked down at Buffy, “This is what I do.”
“I know but there’s too many,” said Buffy.
“You don’t know anything,” said Emma.
“I do, you shouldn’t speak to me that way either, now, we’re going to leave,” said Buffy.
“They what you are,” stated Emma, “There’s no way out of it, and come on slayer, it’ll be fun.”
“We’re not going to get ourselves killed in a brawl,” said Buffy.
“B’s right, we’re not going to, now come one,” said Faith.
Emma walked away from them and went to the pool table in the middle of the room. She picked up a pool stick and spun it around. A vampire looked over and she hit him across the face and he dusted. Emma then slammed the pool stick into a vampire’s chest.
She looked it in the eyes and the demon went into the wind of the bear, blood smelling bar. Emma looked at the crowd. Everyone had gone really quiet.
“What do you think you’re doing?” said one of the demons, “You can’t kill us.”
“What are you gonna do about it?” snarled Emma.
“Emma don’t!” demanded Buffy.
Emma threw the pool stick quickly aside to her right throwing it into 3 demons having them hit the bar wall dead, or dust. Emma then quickly flipped up and landed on her hands kicking two vampires in the head in the process. They dusted. Emma finished the flip landing her hands on the pool table and jumping off. She pounced on a demon behind her.
A demon came up behind her and hit her over the back with a chair. The chair shattered and Emma threw her fist into the demon’s head the blade doing the entering of the skull. Emma pulled the blades out and jumped up twirling around slicing 3 demons’ heads off.
Emma landed she retracted her blades and jumped up and kicked one vampire across the face dusting him. One came from her left and she punched him in the head dusting him. Another came from behind and she back handed him. Emma jumped forwards and over the pool table landing on her feet and flipping up and pouncing on a demon against the wall.
The demon was officially dead as green pus spewed from it’s eyes as she landed. On the bar. She landed on all fours and punched one demon in the face killing him. She flipped forwards as the Bartender was going to hit her with a bottle of liquor. The glass crashed.
Emma landed behind the bar and punched him in the head and tossed him over the other side. Demons were coming from all over the bar. Emma defeating them.
Buffy’s heart was in her throat. Thankfully they weren’t being bothered by the demons. Emma was in complete shock she didn’t know what to do. Faith decided to join in, keep Buffy’s daughter safe. Emma landed on the other side of the bar.
Emma went down and kicked to demons off there feet. She jumped up and kicked two of them in the heads killing them. She landed and went forward on her hands kicked two behind her. Then two in front of her. She landed on her feet.
Faith got punched by a vampire and grabbed the vampire from behind and twisted it’s head off, “Stay in your own fight!” demanded Emma spinning around punching the demon behind her.
That demon flew across the room falling into the pull stick that had been in the wall for some time. Emma twirled around and kicked another and that demon died immediately. She was enjoying this but hating it too.
Emma quickly punched one on her right in the stomach and she jumped up and flipping backwards smashing one of the lasts demons’ heads with her feet. She landed and stabbed on in the chest killing him then spun around and her move was blocked.
She ducked this quick demons move then slammed her opposite hand that hadn’t been caught into the demon’s chest. Emma pulled it out. Another went to hit her with a chair and she ducked then slammed him against the wall holding him there. Emma then quickly slammed her fist into it’s face, this demon being a vampire dusted immediately at her touch of her knuckles.
Her hand rammed into the wall. She pulled back and looked at them, she retracted her blades, “I’m going to my dad.”
Emma was sitting with Spike watching T.V. in the Lobby by the time Buffy got back. Buffy seemed pretty angry.
“Emma that was completely immature,” scolded Buffy.
Spike looked at Emma, “What’d you do?”
“Fought demons,” said Emma.
“You disobeyed me and started a brawl in a bar,” said Buffy.
“So, I’ve fought more. Those bastards didn’t even know what they had coming,” laughed Emma.
Buffy didn’t want to be angry with her daughter. Buffy never wanted to experience anger with her sweet little child. But a mother scorn.
“Who taught you that language I don’t want to hear it,” said Buffy. Spike looked innocently, Buffy folded her arms, “You say that filthy language around our daughter.”
Emma stood up, “What now, gonna pick on my dad, you’ve gone from the straight surprise to anger,” Emma went up to her and spoke over her, “You think just because you’re my mother and you come along trying to make everything alright you think automatically you can take charge of me. And quit trying to make me part of your sick happy family I don‘t want it, I liked it better when you were crying!” hissed Emma she walked off to the stairs.
Buffy didn’t know what to say, she did want to cry, she’s experienced so many levels of mother hood in one day, “This isn’t gonna work Emma doesn’t like me.”
Spike stood up and went to Buffy, “Emma doesn’t know you, she’s stubborn.”
“It’s not gonna work,” sighed Buffy.
“You’re right about that if you mean being a family because that wont work,” said Spike.
Buffy sobbed looking up to the ceiling, “I just wanted for her to be my baby again.”
“ But she’s not a baby,” said Spike.
Emma went into an empty room of the Hyperion. She slammed the door of the room. Her eyes went yellow. Emma kicked a desk and the desk flew out the window and broke it some more. Her eyes reversed.
“Idiot, she’s an idiot,” she said to herself.
Emma punched the bed post of a bed, not much though it still stood. She paced and breathed. Rage pounded like a heart beat through her system.
“This wasn’t supposed to happen!” she paced, “Talk bad about my father, she wasn’t supposed to come here,” heaved Emma, “Why did she come, why, why, why?!” yelled Emma holding her hair.
She took in a breath and sat on the bed. She sat in her chin on her knees, knees around her neck. Conner opened the door to the room.
“I’m surprised nobody can here you down in the lobby,” said Conner.
“What do you want?” asked Emma looking at him.
Conner spoke out with it, “Are you gonna kill Buffy?”
Emma growled at him, “It’s not on my agenda.”
“I don’t believe that, just because some weeks of time have passed doesn’t mean that you still wont do it,” said Conner closing the door.
“Just shut up,” she got off the bed, “I’m sick of this, why can’t you just stay away from me!?”
“Because you’re almost everywhere I am.”
“Not hardly, “ she sat down on the floor in front of the bed, “We’re acting like little children. I’m 16, you’re what?”
“19, almost 20.”
“I’m sick of you, you’re sick of me. Why don’t you just move away?” asked Emma.
“I can’t do that I go to school here,” said Conner.
He sat down next to her in front of the bed.
“So,” she scoffed.
“Plus my fiancée lives around here,” said Conner sitting the same way she did.
“I can’t move away my dad seems to like it here,” said Emma.
Conner didn’t speak for a moment, “That’s a predicament.”
“I don’t want to live the rest of my life with you sods,” hissed Emma.
“Thanks,’ said Conner sarcastically.
“Angel’s probably got something under his sleeve, incase I pull anything,” said Emma.
“Well, I don’t blame him,” said Conner.
Emma looked forward, “You’re stupid that way.”
“Thanks again.”
“You, ever want to kill someone real bad?” she asked.
Conner sighed, “Sometimes.”
“I want to kill Buffy tell her what she owes me so bad that I could shake,” said Emma.
“Don’t act on it,” sighed Conner.
“It was the way I was raised,” said Emma, “It’s what, um, brain washing I guess.”
“That’s a sorry excuse,” said Conner.
“Well, it’s the best one I’ve got,” said Emma, “You’ve killed, why--”
“I was tricked,” said Conner.
“So was I,” said Emma, “Given promises of relief to do something that wouldn’t cause any form of relief.”
They sat there for a moment, “Promises of a good family, rest.”
“Rest,” said Emma, “That’s nothing close.”
“You feel like you’d be loved,” said Conner, “Just some rest and you try to kill yourself and big group of people to make it better.”
They stayed quiet for a long moment. Emma leaned against the foot board looking up at the ceiling. The room was very quiet. Emma looked at Conner. Conner put his right hand on her face holding it and kissed her. In a mild romantic way.
For a long moment Emma didn’t stop him. Then she pulled away disgusted and punched him in the face knocking him off her. She got up.
Conner grabbed his nose blood dripping down from his nose, “But,” Conner was confused, “Go to hell,” demanded Emma.
She stomped out of the room.
Lilah was admiring her box in her office.
“To only get this open,” she said, “Open it up and see what’s inside.”
“You know what’s inside,” said Waltz, “The End, the danger.”
“Did I say you could come into my office,” said Lilah.
“But you didn’t say that I couldn’t,” stated Waltz.
“What do you want?” asked Lilah.
“I want you to stop now,” demanded Waltz, “This thing in here, complete and simple destruction.”
“No, slavery, death, but we’ll be on top,” said Lilah.
“Why do I work here?” said Waltz as if asked himself.
“I really don’t know, you seemed to have to credentials.”
“I why do I let this stay?” scoffed Waltz.
“Because there’s nothing you can do about it,” said Lilah.
“No, because,” said Waltz, “It’s in the prophecies.”
“The senior partners let you know so much Waltz, tell me, are you jealous?” questioned Lilah.
“What would I be jealous of?” questioned Waltz.
“Hamilton gets the honors, not you, doesn’t it you know, touch you?” smiled Lilah putting her hands over her heart.
“Hardly, I’m rather glad I wasn’t chosen to be a vessel,” said Waltz.
“Live long enough,” began Lilah, “We might need more then one of these around here.”
“A box of turmoil and torture and don’t forget the billions of lives that have past it’s eyes,” said Waltz.
“Don’t make me puke,” said Lilah.
Buffy was sitting on the Bed of her room with Spike looking at pictures. Picture spread out all over the bed. She showed one to Spike of her sitting in the hospital holding Emma in her arms, “I looked like hell, but that was the happiest day of my life.”
“These are nice pictures,” smiled Buffy.
“I miss her so much,” She handed a picture of Emma as a baby, Willow was holding Emma, “I knew right from the beginning she’d have your eyes,” she paused, “ I take these pictures with me everywhere, I should have believed her.”
“About what?” asked Spike putting down the picture.
“When I handed her to Reese she started crying, hardly cried before then, but she screamed, my poor baby like it was the end of the world,” sighed Buffy.
“In the pictures she never smiled as a baby,” said Spike, he was looking through the ones in his hand.
“Some how I think Emma knew her future a little, she was fast though. Learned everything faster then any other baby would, by the time I gave her to Reese, she was already sitting up, trying to move. When she held my finger she always did it with her left hand. She’ s so much like you. It was funny.”
“Like what?” asked Spike.
“I used to sit by her bed and talk about you and she’d giggle, put a wide smile on her face, that trigger song, this sounds stupid-”
“What about that trigger song, the one from the first?” said Spike.
“Yes,” said Buffy, “I sung it to her.”
“That’s sweet,” smiled Spike, “Took good care of her.”
“No Emma is the female version of you, talks like you, as far as I know acts like you, left handed, same eyes-”
“She’s got my hair,” smiled Spike.
“Hardly like me,” laughed Buffy.
“Bad at poetry too,” said Spike, “It was a thing.”
“It just doesn’t feel right,” said Buffy.
“What?’ asked Spike.
“It still feels like you’re not saying enough. Something like that,” stated Buffy.
“You know everything I can tell you,” said Spike.
“What can’t you tell me, never mind you probably wont tell me,” sighed Buffy.
They looked at the pictures, Spike put them down. Buffy collected them and put them in a box on the night stand.
“I still love you,” said Spike.
“What?” asked Buffy looking at Spike.
“I still love you, I haven’t gone a day without you on my mind, not a single, if it’s worrying about you or wondering if I’d ever get to see you again,” said Spike.
“You know I love you, and I wish everything could be alright, but Spike, it’s obvious, we may be so connected, through Emma, but, you’re a vampire and I’ve got more in life,” said Buffy, “I’ll live then die, someday.”
“I know,” said Spike.
Spike kissed Buffy. Buffy pulled away, “Spike, uh.”
Buffy then put her hands on his neck holding his head as she began to kiss him passionately. Buffy ran her right hand down his chest. Spike leaned her against the bed, putting his right hand on her thigh running it up her curve of her waist.
Buffy began putting her hands through his hair.
Dawn, Willow and Xander were in Angel’s office.
“I got this book out of Wesley’s office, It’s about Emma, I guess like a diary,” said Dawn showing it to Xander and Willow.
“Ooh, Watcher’s diary,” said Willow.
“Yeah I figure. Um skimmed some of it and Spike’s not telling us a lot,” said Dawn.
“Like what?” asked Xander looking at the front cover of the book. Emma written on it.
“Emma’s not, you know, completely human, when she get angry, her eyes turn yellow and she grows fangs.”
“Part Demon?’ questioned Xander.
“You know why Reese tortured her? That priest Buffy gave her too-”
“Tortured her?” questioned Willow putting her hand over her mouth.
“Tortured her, To get her to kill slayers,” replied Dawn as Xander started flipping through the many pages.
Willow let out a sigh, “Good thing she hasn’t.”
“No, Emma has killed thousands of people, killed her first slayer when she was 11,” said Dawn.
They went quiet.
Emma went up the stairs to Buffy’s room. She just kept walking going towards the room. She was going to find Spike.
Buffy had pulled Spike’s shirt off and they were ‘doing some things.’ [if only you could hear me say that in real life.] Emma opened the door and saw them. She didn’t move.
“Dad?”
