For a few moments, everything in the night was still and silent as the rays of the
moon cascaded through the lifeless trees, kissing its glow
on the four shadows that stood there in the silent darkness.
Buffy’s hazel eyes widened at the sight of the familiar stranger that
stood before her, his brown hair glistening under the glow of the night.
No words escaped from her lips, only tiny wisps of breath that
mingled with the forest mists that still loomed throughout the eerie woods.
She took a few steps back out of fear instilling in her heart, but it only amused the stranger
with a arrogant smile tugging at his perfect features, his aura radiating supreme arrogance.
“What the hell is he doing here?” Buffy snarled, taking another step back, her
heart pounding quickly against her chest, her voice echoing and breaking the nightly silence that instilled.
Fear and distrust blossomed on her face that radiated from the silver
kissed glow, looking like the lost goddess of the moon from long ago.
“Coming to your rescue, mio bella,” the stranger smirked, his
breath almost mingling with hers in a misty delicious swirl.
The stranger silently walked towards her, grabbing her hand gently and placing a soft kiss
to it that felt delicate and soft like a pair of angel wings, his eyes looking directly
at hers that reflected the glow of the moon that shimmered fiercely above them.
“What’s going on here?” Buffy almost snapped, gazing directly at
a dark shadow that crossed Angel’s beautiful features.
Silence still lingered until she heard a soft whisper from a few feet away.
“Amore. This is my younger twin brother Damon. He’s a undercover spy for the Night Ones. My partner,” Angel whispered, the
dark shadow blossoming on his angelic face lifted to reveal his obsidian, liquid eyes on Buffy’s own lovingly.
The eerie, forbidden forest that surrounded the four plunged back once more into everlasting silence.
A cool breeze swayed tendrils of blond hair into the cool wind before Buffy could open her lips to respond.
Still, no word escaped from her own cool breath.
“You mean all this time he was *Good*?” she continued to whisper, shivering under
the cool breeze that continued to sway the lifeless, shadowed trees that abounded the dark of the woods.
Fearlessness for the mysterious stranger that stood just a breath’s away tried to blossom on her delicate face.
She took another step back, crunching rustling leaves underneath, the distrust in
her heart continuing to grow as deep as the cloak of night that bestilled upon them.
The girl that stood by her was covered with swaying shadows shivered endlessly
against her, the silver kissed glow of the moon revealing
the fear that instilled upon the girl’s pale features.
“A spy?” Buffy continued to whisper while a rustle of leaves swirled around her as if to embrace her.
“Yes,” Angel replied with deep sadness and despair in his voice that whispered like black velvet.
“Why?”
“I’m so sorry mio angelo. I had to make sure that none of the Night Ones knew about his true identity.
I had to keep it a secret from everyone. If I didn’t, the Night Ones would of came after him.”
Buffy’s hazel eyes narrowed at the arrogant stranger called Damon, but distrust
and fear still was still blossoming on her face under the fierce
silver rays of the moon that piece through the eternal darkness of the night.
Soft whispers of breath escaped from Damon’s lips.
“Forgive me amore. I had to do what I had to do. If I didn’t, *they* would suspect
that I belong to the other side and not them,” Damon pleaded
softly, his brown hair swaying softly against the soft forces
of the cool breeze that slapped his flushed cheeks.
Before a word could escape from her lips, Buffy picked up a soft, scuttling sound from behind.
A fierce growl broked the silence of the night as the silver glow revealed the
hidden face of a white tiger stalking towards them, revealing canine teeth that glistened under the moon.
Fearlessness blossomed over Buffy’s features as she picked up a thick, fallen
branch beneath her feet and walked softly towards
the beautiful animal with a snarl of her own.
Then the white tiger that stood in the shadows was suddenly
on top of her, panting its wildly breath of her flushed cheeks.
Buffy struggled to push the exotic animal off of her slim form, but it was too powerful.
Her eyes widened as she saw its heavy paw in the misty white air, ready to kill her if necessary….
Buffy shut her eyes before the eerie, silent darkness, praying for a quick death…
