And he did. The whole story finally came out about her early life, and how he knew about her.
"Your father was the one who made me into a vampire, 293 years ago. And when he had a child with your mother, he told me right away that she would be half vampire and half human. It turned out that your mother was an ancient descendant of the original half vampire, Dominique. He asked me to take care of you later on. So I gave you the necklace to mark you and to aid me in finding you when you grew up. But I must say, you’ve grown up lovelier than I could’ve imagined. And all I ask is that you stay with me, so I can help you understand who you truly are.” Kathlin was silent, absorbing all this information that had so suddenly struck her. She knew that it was true, yet she still didn’t trust Spike. There’s no telling what he might do. Suddenly, a noise broke the fragile quiet. Kathlin was on her feet in a second, running towards where she thought a door was. She tripped on a slippery rug when it slid out from under her. Pain shot up her ankle and she desperately tried to get up, but she hit her head on something and saw stars. Spike angrily looked towards the noise, but couldn’t sense anything there. He walked over to where Kathlin lay, dazed and picked her up. He laid her back onto the bed and propped up her ankle which he saw was starting to swell a bit. It was just twist and she would heal quickly. He kissed her gently on her lips and as she started to wake up, he left her. Walking back to the piano, he started to play the mournful song. Within several minutes, she appeared, looking like an angel, fallen from heaven. Walking to the piano, she stopped right behind him. He stopped playing and invited her to sit down. As she did, he stood up and bent behind her, placing his hands on her tiny ones. His head was right at her neck and he could sense her blood flowing throughout her. She no longer was nervous at having him so close, it didn’t seem to bother her. They started to play the beautiful song together, making the instrument sing. She smiled and tilted her head into him, but he gently nodded her on to play. When the song ended, she looked up to him.
"I have a favor to ask.”, she started quietly. He came around and sat in front of her.
"What is it?” He wanted to give her everything.
"Can I call Willow and Xander?” His eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"I promise I won’t tell them anything, just that I’m safe and happy. I know they’re worried about me!” She crossed her fingers that he’d agree. He sighed.
"I guess so. I know I’d be worried if it happened to me.” She smiled her sweet smile at him in thanks. He motioned for her to follow him down a dark hallway, to an extra bedroom. On the desk beside the bed, sat a phone. She picked it up and sat down on the bed. Dialing Willow’s number, she hoped someone would be home.
