The escaped vampire raced back to his master’s hideout. Walking through the front door of a huge house, he wondered why his master had chose such a strange place to live. He found the hidden door and went below to where his master stayed during the day. All the windows in the house were boarded up, just in case.
"Was your hunt successful?” a voice came from the far end of the room. Instantly, the fledgling vampire bent on one knee and bowed to his master. Spike walked towards his newest vampire.
"Sir, it was interrupted by the Slayer. Thomas was taken by her, and…"
"And what?” Spike was getting annoyed at the layer for taking so many of his children.
"And, the Chosen One has arrived. She was with the Slayer.” he stammered, unsure of how Spike would take this news. But instead of being angry, he grew excited.
"What did she look like?"
"Well, quite a lot like the Slayer, except she had brown eyes and gold hair. And, she wore a blue stone necklace.” The young vampire started to wonder what this information meant to Spike, but his thoughts were interrupted.
"Was it dark or light, the stone?” Spike had started pacing around the room, thinking hard.
"Kind of both. It shone in any type of light but as soon I was near her, it flashed so hard, I thought it was like a beacon.” Now the fledgling vampire was really confused. Spike suddenly swooped towards him, furious.
"What do you mean ‘as soon as I was near her’? Did you try to drink?” The fledgling bowed low and admitted “Yes. I didn’t know who she was, until I saw the stone.” He readied himself for a beating, but it never came. When he looked up, Spike was wandering around the room, moving this and that.
"Keep an eye on the girl, but not so close as that the Slayer could sense you. We’ll make our move in a few days, on the full moon.” The fledgling bowed and exited quickly, glad that he was still alive and in one piece, to do his job.
