Buffy and Angel were whisked to Satan's feet. "OUR CONTRACT STATES THAT IF YOU WIN, ANGEL MAY GO FREE BACK TO EARTH. BUT YOU ARE TO STAY HERE!!!" Buffy's eyes burst into tears. Satan waved his hand, and Angel was fully recovered. He stood, tall and powerful. Buffy's legs buckled beneath her. Angel caught her as she fell the to ground. Angel glowered at Satan. "How could you?! You HAVE to let her go . . . you have to . . . " Angel cried, his voice breaking. Satan frowned. "WELL, LET ME THINK IT OVER. HMMMMM . . . . NO! HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAA!!!"
Angel pressed his face to Buffy's hair. "I'm sorry, Buffy. I'm so sorry." Buffy looked into his eyes. "D . . Don't be. I should have thought more carefully." Angel hugged Buffy closer. Satan opened a portal to earth. The place on which Buffy and Angel were on floated over to it. Manacles clamped on Buffy's ankles. She couldn't move- she was trapped. Angel stared at the portal coming closer. He took one last look at Buffy. "Buffy, I love you. Never forget me . . " Buffy whispered back to him, "I love you, too, Angel. Tell the others I'll miss them. She took the silver cross from around her neck and slipped it into Angel pocket.
Angel cried fresh tears. "Oh, Buffy, I wanted so much to-" "Stop . . . " whispered Buffy. "Don't talk anymore." They looked at each other. "Just kiss me." pleaded Buffy. They pressed their lips together in ecstasy. Angel wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. Buffy slid her hand onto Angel's neck, pulling him closer. Satan was about to knock Angel down the hole with his pitchfork when a blinding white light exploded between the two lovers. It formed a cocoon around them. All the minions and devils tried to break it open, including Satan. It was non-breakable. The ball of light with Buffy and Angel inside bounced down the hole. Satan screamed out in anger- he had lost two potential victims. Damn! Damn it! "I blame TV." shouted Satan.
Buffy and Angel were still kissing when they landed on the sand. The sunlight streamed onto them. The kiss stopped. Buffy realized they were home, together. "Oh Angel! You're home."
They hugged tightly. Then, Angel pulled away, shocked. "Angel? Angel, what is it?!" Buffy cried. "I'm . . . I'm not a vampire anymore! I can walk in the sun!!" Buffy saw him there, in the sunlight. "Oh my God, you're truly here!" Angel looked at himself. It was true: He was there, in the sunlight, alive. He ran his tongue across his teeth. To his surprise, no fangs poked. His thirst for blood was replaced by a craving for pizza. Angel hugged Buffy tightly. Now they could have a normal life together! At last . . .
