Willow broke in. "Buffy Daaé could sing it, sir. She's been taking lessons from a wonderful teacher." The managers looked doubtful. Giles saved things by saying, "Let her sing, messieurs. She has been well taught." The men sighed. "Very well." Buffy stepped up.
"Think of me,

if you ever find a moment

The scene was magically changed into the gala premiere.

The audience applauded wildly, including a young Xander. He stared at Buffy through his opera glasses.
"Can it be? Can it be Buffy?

The curtain closed in front of Buffy as she ended her bows. The ballet girls clambered around her as she gave out a rose to each one from her bouquet. Giles sauntered up to them. "My dear, you were wonderful! Reyer will be pleased." He turned to the girls. "And you! You all were a disgrace! Go now, practice the basic steps." The girls hurried to the bars to dance. Buffy went to her dressing room. As she was about to open the door, she heard the Angel's voice out of nowhere. He spoke softly, but it echoed in her mind. "Bravi, bravi, bravissimi!" Buffy stiffened for a second.
Willow came up behind her. Buffy was relived to see her.
"Where in the world
have you been hiding?
Really, you were perfect!
I only wish I knew your secret.
Who is this new tutor?"
Buffy entered her room with Willow in tow. She sat in her chair near the long mirror, and looked at Willow.
"Father once spoke of an angel . . .
I used to dream he'd appear.
Now as I sing, I can sense him.
And I know he's here!
Here in this room he calls me softly
Somewhere inside- hiding.
Somehow I know he's always with me.
He, the unseen genius!"
Willow looked uneasily about her, then back to Buffy.
"Buffy, you must have been dreaming.
Stories like this can't come true.
Buffy, your talking in riddles,
and it's not like you!"
Buffy could not hear her friend. She was spell-bound.
"Angel of Music!
Guide and Guardian!
Grant to my your glory!
Angel of Music!
Hide no longer!
Secret and Strange Angel!"
Buffy's smile disappeared, and she gasped. She grabbed Willow's hands and held them tightly.
Buffy
"He's with me even now!"
Willow "Your hands are cold . . . "
Buffy
"All around me . . ."
Willow
"Your face, Buffy, it's white!"
Buffy
"It frightens me . . ."
Willow
"Don't be frightened."
They looked at each other, a speck of fear growing. Giles appeared in the doorway. "Willow Giles! Are you not a dancer? Then come and practice!" Willow ran out of the room. Giles turned to leave, but slipped a note into Buffy's hand. "It was asked to give this to you." Buffy opened the note. It read, ' A red scarf . . . the attic . . . Little Lotte.' Buffy looked up, wide-eyed . . .
