Chapter 4
While sitting in Angels office, Kaitlin is thinking things over slowly.
I understand it almost, well at least that there are things like that out there. I always wondered if the things i read about all the time were actually real. But strength? I don't believe that i am strong enough for this, in school i'm the nerd. I was the one that got asked to take advanced classes in grade 9 and tutor other people in math. I was always reading, this just isn't right for me. Dying i'm going to die way earlier than i thought, i really want to live past 20. I just turned 16 this is just to much I have to leave.
" I have to go" I jump up and say suddenly. As I run out of the room, everyone just stares after me.
" It's time to make that call to Giles at the council." Angel says to wesley. As he gets up to leave and follow Kaitlin.

As I started running down the street I quickly made myself stop and look where I was. I noticed that I was really far from the hotel. I must have ran pretty fast. Wait well yeah I am a slayer, of couse i can run fast. When walking I quickly came apon a park and dicieded to go swinging. As I sat down and start to pump my arms and legs I start to think back on coming to LA. I wonder who they were going to call, wait they said somehting about a Giles. Who is Giles and where are they going to send me. I should just go back get my stuff and leave again. I mean i know what I am now do I need to stay here? No of course not, but do I want to stay here. Yes, Wesley has been so kind, and he knew what I was and he hasn't tried to take advantage of me or anything. Well not yet.
I wonder what is up with that Angel guy anyways, mope much? He barley said two words to me after we sat down in his office. I mean Wesley explained everything that he knew, and I guess he knew it all because Angel didn't add anything. It's getting dark out I should probally head out. As I start to get out of the swing I suddenly have major cramps. They were so bad Itwisted my face in pain and clutched onto my hip. As I turn around I see Angel standing a few feet behind me.
" Thats how you sence vampires." Angel started out saying.
" What?" I anwser back in confusion, the cramps have stopped while i streighten myself.
" Your stomach pains, your stomach gets cramps when vampires are near."
" Brillant, I really hate the people that came up with the idea of girls being slayers, and the way they know vampires are near is because of cramps." I reply smartly. " This is stupid, anyways Wesley said that there were a lot of slayers now, so I don't have to slay anything. I'm just going to leave and start my life over."
" A lot of slayers would like to do that, but no one slayer can." Angel said in a voice of wisdom. " You were chosen to be a potentail. If Willow had never done the spell you may or may not have become a slayer, but Willow did do the spell and you are a slayer. You will fight vampires and demons because it is your destiny."
" Whatever then." I can tell he won't give up on it. " So who is Giles anyway and what does he want?"
" Giles is in England, he is one of the top watchers. In England and Rome they have places set up to train slayers. When we get back and Wesley gets off of the phone he will tell us when they are coming to get you."
"No."
" You have to go, you need to train, you do not fully understand what it means to be a slayer."
" I'm not going to England or Rome, where i don't know anyone. Yes I did run away and come to LA. But I did that on my own accord. I left home becuase it was the better thing to do, but I will not be going away." And I won't be leaving LA unless they want me to or if they try to force me to leave.
" Kaitlin, you need to go if your not trained you will make a stupid mistake."
" Yes Angel, A stupid mistake." Said a Vampire that just came into view.
As i quickly started to feel a seering pain all throught my lower body, I did a quick circle noticing that we were surrounded. When my heart beat started picking up I thought that this would be it. I'm not even gogin to live to 20. Sweet sixteen will be the end for me.

When I counted the vampies around me I noticed that there were around 10. When I felt Kaitlins heart beat pick up, I remebered that she had never fought vampies before. Since all these vampires heard what we were talking about they probally now know that she is strong but completly untrained. When the vampire that was first talking to us slowly starts to make his way toward Kaitlin. I notice how she is slowly slinking back towards me and when I feel her arm touching mine she looks up at me scared. I try to give her my most trusting look while I go into a fighting stance. As she tries to go into a stance ready to fight all the vampires come at us at once.
While I quickly dispose of two vampires I remeber that Kaitlin doesn't have a stake. As I throw her my stake I yell " Aim for the Heart." As I see her jump up and grab the stake and quickly shove it in the demons heart in front of her, a smile appears on her face. Since I now know that she can take care of her self I try to take care of as many vampires that I could. Throwing out as many punchs and kicks I could and liking the feel of flesh after I hit each vampire, I quickly go in my game face without thinking. Every few minutes or seconds I can't tell anymore, I look back to see how Kaitlin is farring out. I see her strugling with 2 vampires, but she quickly gets push down but jumps back up and stakes a vampire. Before soon i'm staking the last vampire and look to see where Kaitlin is, but I notice her quickly walking back words. Then I reliese I still look like a monster. When I get out of my vampiric face I slowly walk over to her to see if she is injured.

Yes, Kaitlin hes a vampire you knew this. They told you everyhting, he has a soul he can't hurt you....won't, won't hurt you. When I reach the bench I sit down before I fall. He feels guilt and sorrow, he was just defeating the other vampires what are you so scared of Kaitlin? I ask myself. When he comes over and sits down next to me I feel myself tense up all over.
"So you knew I was a vampire, you just weren't expeting it." He asks me as if he is reading my mind. I just slowly nod my head still tring to get over the way his face looked. Suddenly a thoguht comes to my mind and I stare up at him.
" Just because I fought those vampires and wasn't all that good at it, doesn't mean that i'm going to leave with this Giles guy." Angel shakes his head and lightly laughs as if i said something stupidly funny.
" Are you hurt?" Angel asks me with a sudden concern in his voice.
" No i'm fine. Just a few cuts and bruises, nothing slayer healing won't heal apperantly. Lets just go back to the hotel."
* * * * * *
Back at the hotel, Wesley just got off of the phone with a slight frown on his face while Angel and Kaitlin walked in.
"Oh, dear." Wesley said quickly getting up to go and check on them." Are you two all right?" While walking just towards Kaitlin.
" Where fine, some vampires found us while we were talking. I think it best that Kaitlin stay here at the hotel the night if thats alright with you?"
" Thats fine Angel, Thanks."
" Yes, very good. Well anyways I just hung up with Giles when you came in." Waiting for Angels approval to contuine, Angel just gave him an annoyed look." Giles said that he will be able to send someone down in about a week, because they are having weather problems and the jet has been sent elsewhere. Angel would Kaitlin be able to stay here until they come to get her?"
" They won't be coming to get me." I say because its true I will stay here until they come to get me and before they do I will leave.
" Excuse me?"
" I don't want to go to England or Rome and I won't I will just go somewhere else on my own or back home, now that i know why I was getting stronger."
" Why don't we finish this confersation tomrrow. Wesley would you like to come back over in the morning and maybe go over some of the slayer and vampire history with Kaitlin. Then maybe some trainign in the afternoon or shopping i'm thinking if thats all you have for clothes. Now i'll show you to your room."
" G'night Wesley" I say with a yawn as Angel drags me upstairs.
