“I can’t find anything about this mark,” Fred said putting the book she had been looking through down and closing her eyes. They had been researching this mysterious mark for along time now and her eyes hurt.
“Me either,” Willow said from her computer, “I’ve googled to the point where I can google no more. What about you guys?”
“I’ve found nothing,” Wesley said.
“I haven’t found anything on the symbol,” Giles said.
“I found it! Oh, wait never mind,” Willow said.
“You didn’t find it?” Fred asked.
“Not unless what ever killed that guy belongs to the National Kite Makers Association.”
“I’m thinking not,” Fred said.
*************************
Mrs. Weasley bustled around the kitchen, instructing her various magic kitchen appliances to make breakfast as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred, George, and Mr. Wesley sat around the kitchen table. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were discussing the death of the shopkeeper at Diagon Alley. It had been printed in the morning paper and had gotten the whole wizarding community excited.
“Do you think it was you know who?” Ron asked.
“It’s got to be or if not him one of his followers,” Harry said, “What do you think Hermione?”
“I’m not sure but if it is him. He wouldn’t have made this death so public unless he was fully back to power,” she whispered, “It says Fudge is suppose to give a press conference today to address the issue, so I guess we’ll…”
“What are you 3 whispering about?” Mrs.Wealsey asked as she placed a tray of pancakes on the table.
“Nothing,” they all said quickly.
“How are we supposed to get to the press conference?” Ron asked, after his mother was out of earshot.
“They’re supposed to be broadcasting it,” Hermione said.
“How are they going o do that?” Harry said.
“They are using the looking glasses.”
“Huh?” Harry said.
“Mirrors, it’s rare but sometimes the ministry uses them to broadcast important news events.”
“They only use those in states of emergency,” Ron said.
“I know but technically it is. The entire wizarding community is in an uproar over what happened; everyone is scared he who must not be named is back,” Hermione said.
Just then there was a knock on the kitchen door. Mrs. Weasley went to answer it. When she opened the door she was surprise to find Cornelius Fudge, Head of the ministry of magic standing in her doorway.
“Hello, Molly, wonderful to see you again; how are you?”
“Alright,” she replied, “Are you here to see Arthur?”
“No, actually if you don’t mind I’d like to have a word with Harry.”
“Well that’s up to him,” she said looking at Harry.
“Sure,” he said.
**********************
“Well, I suppose you’re wondering why I came here to talk to you,” Fudge began as he and Harry walked around the Weasley’s garden, “You’ve heard about the unfortunate incident that happened yesterday I assume.”
“Yeah, do you have any idea who did it?” Harry asked trying to fish for some useful information.
“We’re looking into it. Anyway, I am scheduled to give a press conference today to help calm the public’s nerves, make sure they feel safe and I’d like you to come with me.”
“Why?”
“Because you’ll make them feel safe and at ease. So will you come?”
“Are you going to tell them it was Voldermort?”
“No, there is no proof of that besides he who must not be named is long gone Harry; you really should put the past behind you.”
“How can you say that; he killed Cedric!”
“Harry will you accompany me or not? Before you answer due keep in mind your presence will help the wizarding community cope with recent…..”
“No.”
“No?” Fudge said shocked.
“I won’t stand there and lie to everyone. Voldermort is back whether you want to believe it or not and he is behind this I just know it he has to be!” Harry said and with that he walked off, leaving Fudge standing all alone.
*****************
“I can’t believe it,” Ron said, “After everything that’s happened he still doesn’t think he’s back.”
Ron, Hermione, and Harry were all sitting in Ron’s room discussing Harry’s run in with Fudge.
“People won’t believe what they don’t want to Ron,” Hermione reasoned.
“Hermione is right Fudge knows it’s easier to pretend nothings happening then deal with the problem,” Harry said.
“But if it is Voldermort, this is a much bigger problem then Fudge is anticipating,” she said, slightly worried.
“What do you mean if it is?” Harry asked.
“We don’t know it’s him Harry it could be anyone.”
“You don’t believe me either.”
“Yes, I do; don’t twist my words around. I believe Voldermort is back or coming back. All I am saying is we shouldn’t jump to conclusions and assume it is him.”
“Then what can we assume?” Ron asked.
“Well, one things for sure whoever did this isn’t going to be satisfied with one dead body,” Hermione said.
