When faiths find their way.
Dawn has been travelling for a few weeks now. And she has seen some interesting things.

She is walking down a street in New York, where she is staying at the moment, and somebody jumps in front of her.
Dawn startles.
It's a woman, she has black hair, she has a fighters uniform on, and she carries a sword, and some sort of weapon on her.
The weapon's round and in the middle of it there is some sort of handle.
She threatens Dawn.
"Get off of my street." she says while she is waving her weapon around.
But Dawn isn't scared.
She points at the weapon.
"What is that ?" Dawn askes.
"What ?" she looks at her round weapon thing. "I got it from my mam, and she got it from her mam. Its a chakram, past down from generation to generation to do good, or evil, wichever way the keeper chooses."
Then she does a backward flip, and she's gone.
"Charkram ?" Dawn says to herself. "Where have I heard that before ?"

Dawn goes to the library and once there, she finds an old warrior's book. A history book.
On the cover there is a picture of a chakram, the one that girl had.
It's an old book, you can see it cause of all the dust and because of the fragrance. It smells like old books from Giles' library.
She misses Buffy and the others, so she gives them a call.
The phone is ringing. Buffy picks up.
"Hello ?" Dawn hears Buffy say through the phone.
"Hi, it's me."
"Dawn ?" she sounds excited. "Oh, how are you ?"
"I'm great, how are you ?"
"I'm good, I've been missing my sister."
"Yeah, me too. Eum, before I forgett, is Giles around ?"
"Yeah, he's standing right next to me. Why ? Is something wrong ?" she askes a bit worried.
"Oh, no, nothing, I just wanna ask him something, so I don't have to call back."
Giles comes on the phone.
"Hello ? Dawn ?" he says very british.
"Giles, hi. It's nice to hear you again." Dawn smiles.
"Yes it is, it is. Buffy says you want to ask me something ?"
"Oh, yeah, almost forgot. Have you ever heard of a woman named Xena, warrior princess and her chakram ?"
It's quiet on the other side of the phone for a second.
"Yes, I believe I have, Xena is a legend. The legend tells that she was a great warrior of her time. She was a woman with a dark past, but then her army no longer wanted her, so she had to do this test, she was nearly beaten to death, but she stood up, and she turned to good. Together with her
best friends, eum... what was it..."
"Gabrielle ?" Dawn ads.
"Yes, yes, Gabrielle, and she became a great warrior to, she helped Xena stay on the path of good, and when Xena died, Gabrielle kept fighting, for her. But that's just a legend, why do you ask ?"
"No reason, I've been reading a lott. So what happened to Xena's chakram ?"
"No one knows, some say that it was sent to Eve, Xena's daughter, some say it disappeared. Do you need to know anything else."
"Just one, how do you know all of that, if you only believe it's a legend ?"
"The watcher's council made us learn that legend, they believed it was real."
"Oh, okay, thx, say hi for me to the others. Tell Buffy i'll call her in a few days. I gotta go, bye."
"Take care." Giles says and Dawn puts her phone away.

Dawn is still in the library, she takes the history book with her to the hotel.
When she is in the hotel, she starts reading more about this Gabrielle and Xena.
"People never knew if the relationship between the two woman was just friendly or if it was more. They knew however, that their love for one and other was true. And that it would stay that way forever." Dawn reads in the book and keeps reading.
"Xena was not the only one who had weapons, Gabrielle had two knives, but not normal knives, they were real fighter knives, they were one of a kind. After Xena died, Gabrielle fought against evil for several years after that. Then she finally maried and stopt fighting. It was unknown if she had any children. Xena's daughter, Eve, had a daughter of her own too. More information was lost over the years. Some say it's a legend. But some say they know that the souls of Xena and Gabrielle will live on, forever." Dawn closes the book.
"I have to find that girl again. She is a descendant of Xena, that means that the descendant of Gabrielle is out there somewhere too. And I have to bring them together." she says to herself.
She turnes the lights of and goes to bed.

The next day Dawn goes to that street again to find that girl.
After walking there for a few minutes, she hears something.
Whaam!!! That girl is standing for Dawn again. She still has that weapon, that chakram with her.
Dawn still isn't afraid.
"What are you doing here ?! I warned you about walking in this street!" the girl says.
"I know, I just wanted to know your name." Dawn answers.
"Why ?!" the girl askes with an aditude.
"Just because, I'm a bit curious."
" I'm Joy. Now leave!"
Dawn doesn't leave, Joy is getting iritated.
"Well... Joy" Dawn steps closer to her, Joy steps back. "Isn't that a joyfull name for one who is so angry."
Joy looks very mad.
"I am not angry!!!" And she hits Dawn, Dawn falls into the ground, her arm is bleeding. Joy gives her another kick and then runs of leaving Dawn bleeding on the ground.

Dawn goes to the hospital to take care of her wound on her arm. Dawn doesn't say who did it, she says she fell down the stairs.
Dawn has to wait a couple of hours to see a doctor.

Finally Dawn gets to see a doctor.
Her arm is getting very swollen and red.
She's waiting in the room when the doctor comes in.
It's a woman. She has long blond hair. She looks friendly.
"You can lie down on the bed over there." she points at a bed a little further.
"So, who did this to you ?" she asks.
"I euh... I fell down the stairs."
She lookes at Dawns T-shirt and then looks into Dawns eyes.
"So how come you have a foot impression on your shirt ?"
Dawn lookes at her T-shirt and now she sees it, you can see the foot of Joy from when she kicked her.
"I have no idea."
Dawn lies.
"What's your name ?" the doctor who is sewing the wound in Dawn's arm asks.
"Dawn. What's yours ?"
"I'm Cindy. You know... you don't have to be afraid to tell me what really happened. I only want to help you." she smiles and lookes into Dawn's eyes.
Dawn is about to say something when she sees the tattoo on the doctor's arm. It's a small one of two knives. Knives that look a lott like the knives that were in the history book. Like the knives Gabrielle used.
Dawn decides to play dumb.
She points at the tattoo. " Nice tattoo, what's it stand for ?"
"Oh, this ?" Cindy touches the tattoo. "It are two weapons I have at home, they were passed on to me when my mother died. They've been in my family for hundreds of years, and whenever they are passed on to a new owner, you have to put a tattoo on your arm so that you'd never forget what it stands for."
"What does it stand for ?" Dawn asks.
"Good, pure good."
"Waw." Dawn says.
Cindy is done with Dawn's arm. "Here you go, all better."
"Thx. I have a quistion."
"Fire away." Cindy says.
"Does the name Gabrielle ring a bell ?"
Cindy freezes. She turnes around.
"How do you know that name ?"
"I think we should talk." Dawn says and she wispers something to Cindy. And Dawn leaves, leaving Cindy astonished.

For the rest of the day Dawn stays at home and rests.
The next day Dawn goes to a restaurant. Cindy is already waiting there for her.
Cindy waves and Dawn goes to her table.
"Hi." Dawn says, she shakes Cindy's hand and sits down.
"Did you bring them ?" Dawn asks.
Cindy gets something from her purse. It are the two knives. She gives them to Dawn.
Dawn takes a good look at them. "Waw, so it is no legend. Gabrielle and Xena were true."
Cindy lookes suprised that Dawn knows this.
"Yes, the legend is no legend. All the stories you may or may not have heard are true. They were an amazing team."
Dawn smiles. "You seem to know a lott about their history.
"I should know a lott about them, I am a descendant of Gabrielle." she looks at Dawn, looking at the knives. "Yesterday, when we met in the hospital, did you know who I was ?"
Dawn puts the knives down. "I didn't know, I was just there to take care of my wound."
Cindy puts the knives away. "Can I ask you something ?" Dawn asks.
"Sure."
"Do you believe that the souls of Gabrielle and Xena can find each other anywhere, anytime ?"
"I do, that is one of the many reasons I live here, I felt drawn to this place, ass if she was here somewhere. But I've been living here for three years now, and I've never found her."
"What if I were to say that I've seen her. What would you do ?"
"I'd go find her, of course. Did you ? Did you see her ?"
"I did."
Cindy stands up.
"Then we must go to her, our souls are predestined to be together. Cause, if we arn't, something terrible always happens. My mother never found her, and she was lonely forever, I don't wanna end up like that."
Dawn noddes.
"I understand, but getting to her, is not going to be easy. She's a fighter."
Cindy gets her knives out of her purse and waves around with them.
"Good , so am I."
Now Cindy has the same look in her eyes that Joy had. A warrior's look.

An hour later Dawn and Cindy are walking in that street. Cindy is wearing a fighters uniform now too. It looks a lott like the one that Joy was wearing.
It's a short skirt, with a very short and small T-shirt.

Suddenly she appears. She is holding her chakram. And she has a killers look in her eyes.
Now Dawn sees a tattoo on Joy's arm too, it's on the same arm as Cindy's tattoo, but it arn't knives, it's her chakram.
"What are you doing here again ?! And now you've brought a friend, do you want to die ?!" she asks Dawn.
Dawn points at Cindy and her tattoo. "This is Cindy, and this is her tattoo of her weapons."
"Nice, what's it to me ?!"
Cindy steps forward. "She pulls her knives out of her boots. Joy feels threatened and she pulls her sword out too, now she is holding her chakram and her sword.
"You ever hear of the name Gabrielle ? Or the name Xena ?"
Joy puts her sword away again. But she still holds on to her chakram.
"I assume that that's a yes. Wel, I'm the descendant of Gabrielle, and I'm betting that you're the descendant of Xena. Am I wrong ?"

Joy gets mad.
"Yeah, you're totaly wrong!" she gives Cindy a kick, but Cindy is faster and she grabbes Joy's foot and kicks her into the ground.
Joy jumps up and begins to kick and hit Cindy wherever she can, Cindy is fast, but Joy is faster this time, Cindy falls on the ground.
She's bleeding, her nose is swollen and bleeding, she has a cut on her knee. She's hurting, but she gets up, Joy is astonished that Cindy can still get up.
Cindy is about to fall down again, but Dawn grabbes her.
"Why did you do that ?! She was only trying to find her soulmate, to help her soulmate, you. And then you.. you do this. I can't believe that you are the descendant of Xena, cause if you were, you wouldn't do something awful like this!" Dawn is really mad.
Cindy lets go of Dawn and steps forward to Joy.
Joy freezes, she doesn't hit or kick her, she doesn't run away, she just stands there.

Cindy grabbes the other half of Joy's chkram, they are now both holding the round weapon. There is this glow around them. It's some sort of blue energie. Joy has tears in her eyes and Cindy too.
They let go.
"W... what was that ?" Dawn asks, she has never seen a purity.
"That was proof, proof that we belong together."
"Are you two gay ?" Dawn asks.
"Gay ?" Cindy starts to laugh. "Of course we're not gay. Like I said, we're just soulmates."
Joy is still crying. "What have I done ?" she looks at her chakram, and drops it. She fall down on her knees.
Cindy sits down in front of her and she takes a hold of Joy's hands.
Joy lookes up into Cindy's eyes.
Cindy smiles.
"Whatever you did, whoever you hurt, that was in the past, your past, not your future."
"But I hurt so many people, I hurt you." she lookes down.
"Yes, you did, but I'm not mad, and if I'm not mad, you shouldn't feel guilty."
Cindy stands up and Joy stands up too.

They are all sitting in Dawn's hotelroom.
"I'm gonna go get some ice, I'llbe back in a few minutes." Dawn says and she leaves the room.
Joy is taking care of Cindy's wound. Cindy doesn't feel a thing, cause Joy did some kind of pich on her leg to make it go numb for a few seconds. When she is done with the wound, she does that pinch again and now Cindy can feel it again.
They are sitting on some pillows. On the background the radio is playing. There is a song from Britney Spears playing. It's called When I Found You.

They are talking a lott. And then Dawn comes back into the room.
"Here you go" and she gives the ice to Cindy.
"We've been talking while you were gone." Joy says.
"And we would like to travell with you for a while." Cindy ads.
Dawn is suprised.
"Eum, what about your job ?" Dawn asks Cindy.
"I can do that anywhere. We really want to do this."
"It's cool for me." Dawn says.
Joy stands up.
"Dawn, I'm euh, I'm sor..." Dawn interrupts.
"Hey, like Cindy said, the past is the past, and the future is the future, lets concentrate on that."
She shakes Joy's hand...
