Chapter 6
“Doctor, can you do anything to help her.” Giles asked again.
“Look, Mr. Giles as I have already explained her condition. I also explained that we can’t help her, either she pulls out of this on her own or…”
“I understand that, but I just…” Giles trails off not really wanting to finish his sentence.
“I understand how you must feel. I suggest that you go home and…” the doctor is interrupted.
“We don’t have a home anymore. We lived in Sunnydale and that has been…”
“Destroyed. Yes I have heard. I’m sorry for your loss. There is nothing that I can do. I apologize again.” the doctor turned and left.
Giles walks out of the hospital. Not wanting to see Buffy again in her condition.

Giles walked two blocks to the hotel where he sent Willow and everybody else when she got back saying that Angel won’t be helping us and that she will explain at the Scooby meeting when they all get together.

“I can’t believe it. He works for Wolfram and Hart now. That’s the evil law firm, right. Yes, it is. It’s the Law Firm that Angel told me about when I went over to L.A. to help put his soul back or something like that.” Willow thought to herself. She paced in her and some of the other Slayer’s hotel bedroom.
“Sweetie, What’s wrong?” Kennedy asks worried.
“I will tell you when everybody gets here.” Willow said not really wanting to talk about it.
“Everybody is here.” she said as she starts to think about it and then she says, “Oh, Giles isn’t here yet.”
“He’s talking to the doctor about…well I really don’t know what it is Kennedy.” Willow says.
“He’ll tell us. I mean he has too. What do you think is wrong with her?” Kennedy asked.
“I don’t know. It has to be bad. If he can’t even tell us. It must be real bad.” She says trying not to let the tears fall. She sits next to Kennedy.
They continue to talk.

Dawn shared a room with a couple of other Slayer’s. She wasn’t really sure about some of their names.
“Can I borrow this?” a Slayer asks holding up her blue shirt.
“Sure…uhh…”
“Michelle, Michelle Kindly.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. My name is…”
“Dawn, I know.” Michelle finishes.
“Ha, does everyone know who I am. ‘Cause I don’t know anyone in here.” Dawn says honestly.
“Oh, Ok let me introduce you to everyone.” she says as she pulls her up off of the bed and to the two girls.
“Hey, guys meet Dawn.” Michelle says as she tilts her head toward Dawn.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
“Hey.” she says.
“My name is Abby.” the dark haired girl said with a smile.
“And my name is Monique.” the blonde says.
“Nice to meet you guys.” Dawn said.
She looks around and she sees a girl that is sitting alone on the floor. Painting her fingernails black.
“Who’s that?” Dawn asked. Michelle turns around and her smile disappeares as she said, “Oh. Her. She is nobody.”
“Introduce me.” Dawn says still looking at the lonely girl.
Michelle turns around to face her friends and they shrug.
“I guess.” Michelle finally says and walks over to the girl.
“Hey…uh…This is Dawn.” she says.
“Hi. My name is Dawn.” she said.
“Mine’s Jessica. Call me Jessie.” the girl said not even looking up to see who was talking to her.
“Hey, Michelle. Come here.” Monique called for Michelle.
“Dawn I will be right back.” Michelle said as she left Dawn with Jessie.
“So…You like black.” Dawn said as she looked at what Jessie was wearing.
Jessie stands up and get right in front of Dawn’s face. Dawn backs up a little surprised at the sudden movement.
“You think?” Jessie says with a evil smile.
Jessie than looked down at her clothes. She is wearing a black on black outfit. Black lipstick and Black mascara.
Dawn looked at her pitch black eyes and said, “Yea.”
Jessie smiles and says with a laugh, “I like you. Your cool.”
Her smile disappears as Michelle comes back.
“Dawn come with me. We are going to…” Michelle is interrupted by the door opening and Xander comes in.
“Sorry to break up the sleep over party, but Dawn. Scooby Meeting. Now. In Willow’s and Kennedy’s room.” Xander says than walks out and heads to Willow’s room.
“I gotta go Michelle. Later, Jessie.” Dawn she said and rushed out to see if Giles was here.
“Jessie stay away from her.” Michelle says when she is sure that Dawn is gone.
“And why should I listen to you?” she says with a straight face.
“We…” Monique and Abby come to stand by her, “Don’t want her to change into a freak like you.”
“You think I’m afraid of you and your little dogs.” Jessie said standing up for herself.
“What did you call….” Monique says, but stops when Michelle raises a hand to silence her.
“Stay…Away…From…Her.” Michelle says than walks out of the room. Quickly followed by her two lackeys.

“I have to tell them sooner or later.” Giles thinks to himself.
Faith, Giles, Willow, Kennedy, Xander and Dawn are sitting around a round table in Willow’s room.
“Giles. What’s wrong with her?” Dawn asked after a minute of silence.
“Dawn. Everyone. I have some disturbing news. Buffy is…” Giles said looking for the right words to say.
“Basically she is trapped in her mind again, but this time it is worse. She also…” Giles trailed off and took a deep breath. “She has retreated to the back of her mind. She can’t be reached.”
“But…But can’t I just. You know do that spell I did last time that she was in her head.” Willow asked.
“No. You can’t. This time…well it’s different. She’s deeper.” Giles said as he took off his glasses and cleaned them.
“Why?” Dawn said.
“Well I think it might be because of…the doctors asked me if she had any unresolved trauma.”
“Joyce.” Xander said. “She never had enough time to mourn, because she…”
“Killed herself…to save me.” Dawn said holding the tears back.
“Being ripped out of heaven.” Willow said as she lowered her head. “She was happy.”
“Then thinking that she came back wrong.” Giles said.
“Giles leaving.” Xander said not looking at him.
“Almost Dying when she was shot.”
“Tara.” Willow said with watery eyes.
“Willow going evil.” Xander said.
“The First coming.” Faith said for the first time.
“It killed a lot of girls. That she was meant to protect.” Kennedy said speaking for the first time.
“Us abandoning her. Kicking her out of her own house.” Dawn said taking a deep breath
“The only one there for her was Spike…” Xander said.
“Spike…well Spike dying.” Dawn said as she closed her eyes to stop herself from crying.
“All of these things and probably even more than that. All we know is that. She is reliving everything. The good the bad, but mostly the bad. The longer she stays like that the harder it will be for her to come back.” Giles said. “She is too deep for that spell to reach her. It would be to complicated to…you probably would never find her.”
“Spike. It’s Spike. She loved Spike and he died.” Dawn said looking down.
“Yea, B looked like she didn’t even want to leave Spike when I told her to lets get out of here. I think that he told her to leave, but she didn’t want to. I think she was going to die with him, her love. He than convinced her to go. She left. Than when she was looking over what was left of Sunnydale she realized that he was dead and she left him to die. I think that was what pushed her over the end plus all of the other things you guys said.” Faith said putting her two cents in.
"She lost her whole home town too." Xander said.
“And now she is reliving everything over again. Is that right?” Willow asked.
“Yes, you could put it that way.”
“Buffy.” Dawn said as she started to break down. Willow tried to comfort her.
“Spike.” Dawn said, then totally broke down. Crying over all those who left her. Dad, Angel, Riley, Mom, Buffy, Tara, and Spike.
