In Sunnydale the sun is shining bright and Buffy is fast asleep in her dorm room. She dreams…
“Angel? You okay?”
“I feel weird”
“I know. I do, too. I mean, I only came to see you so I could tell you face to face not to see me face to face anymore. And I know there’s a flaw in that logic ointment somewhere, but the next thing I knew, we were being attacked by this Mutant Ninja Demon thing, and we’re on the floor on top of each other, and it’s just really confusing being around you.”
“I’m alive.”
“I’m really sorry I kissed you like that.”
“You are?”
“Not for the kiss itself.”
“It would be smart to wait awhile, see if this mortal thing takes.”
“You know, it’s a good thing I didn’t fantasize about you turning human about ten zillion times…because today would have been a real let-down.”
“You’re human for like a minute, and already there’s cookie dough fudge mint chip in the fridge.”
“God, I love food.”
“I asked them to turn me back.”
“What?! Why?”
“Because more then ever, I know how much I love you.”
“So, what, you just took a whole 24 hours to weigh the ups and downs of being a regular Joe and decided it was more fun being a super hero?”
“You know that’s not it. How can we be together if the cost is your life or the lives of others?”
“Everything we did?”
“It never happened.”
“It did! It did! I know it did. I felt your heart beat.”
“I’ll never forget, I’ll never forget, I’ll never forget."
She suddenly wakes up gasping. She rubs her face and almost begins to cry. The dream felt so real, they were so happy.
Willow walks in the door in her pj’s with her kit of toiletries, “Morning Buffy.”
Buffy looks at Willow, still a little dazed by the dream, with water in her eyes fighting back the tears, “Hey Will.”
Willow notices something wrong, “Buffy is everything ok? You look upset?”
“Yea, I’m fine, just a dream I had…really shook me,” she said while getting out of bed.
“Well do you wanna talk about it? I’m a darn good listener,” Willow said smiling brightly.
Buffy smiles at willow, “I don’t know it was really weird. It was almost like an alternate version of what really happened with me and Angel while I was there.”
“Maybe it’s because you just saw him, brought back all these feelings and stuff.” Willow looked at Buffy with an unsure face.
Buffy smiled at Willow to assure her that she was helping just by listening. “Yea, I guess. It just felt so real though as if it really did happen. I dreamt that while I was at Angel’s this demon attacked and we tracked it and killed it. But some of its blood mixed with Angel’s and it turned him human. We were so happy, but he got worried that he wouldn’t be able to protect me now that he didn’t have vampire strength so he asked these oracle things to turn back time as if that day never happened. Only Angel would know what happened so that he would know how to kill the demon.”
“Wow!” Willow said just staring at Buffy in aw. “I don’t know though Buff, demons turning vampires into humans, oracles turning back time, seems a little unrealistic.”
“Yea, I know but the thing is…the demon in my dream was the same demon that attacked Angel and me in his office that day I went to visit him. Angel killed it, but it was weird, he knew exactly how to kill it as if he'd already done it.” The wheels were turning in Buffy’s brain; she knew something wasn’t right here.
“Huh…that is weird. What do you think it means?”
“I don’t know but I’m gonna find out.” She looked at her watch and the ‘oh shit face appeared, “Oh shit!” as she freaked and franticly started looking for something to wear. “I’ll find out what’s going on but first…a little thing I call learning. Later Will, thanks for listening.”
“Bye Buffy, have fun learning.”
Buffy rushed out the door and began running down the hall. Willow watched and smiled as she shock her head, “Just another day in Sunnydale.”
