Buffy, Jenny, and Giles sat around the dinning room table waiting for William. He was uncharacteristically late and they were beginning to worry.
“I wonder what’s keeping William?” Giles said.
“Maybe he just lost track of time,” Buffy said.
“It’s not like him to…” Jenny began, just as a boy bearing a striking resemblance to William but with bleached blonde hair and dressed in black from head to toe entered the room.
“Sorry for being late,” Spike said.
“William,” Giles blurted out, practically chocking on his food in the process, “What the bloody hell happened to you?”
“Nothing.”
“You mean you didn’t happen to notice being attacked by the crew from What Not to Wear,” Jenny quipped.
Buffy stayed completely silent; she was still in shock. William he looked completely different and Buffy had to admit the change was not bad. She had realized William was a good-looking guy behind his glasses and tweed suits but she hadn’t realized how gorgeous he actually was. She was speechless, literally.
Spike frowned at her comment.
“You haven’t joined some sort of cult?” Giles asked causing Buffy to laugh.
“No! I just wanted a new look,” Spike yelled in frustration, “If you haven’t noticed I’m a teenager. This is what I’m supposed to do.”
“Listen, why don’t we just sit down and eat dinner,” Jenny said, acting as the voice of reason.
“You’re just going to ignore this,” Giles asked her.
“Yes, besides its not exactly any of my business in case you haven’t noticed Mr. Giles we’re not married and its not my job to help you take care of William,” Jenny shot back at him and then stormed off. She was sick of having all the responsibilities of a relationship with Giles but without any of the benefits. She loved him.
“Fine!” Giles yelled after her, “I’ll take care of him myself!”
“I don’t need to be taken care of! I’m not a child!” Spike yelled.
“William please stop yelling and sit down so we can talk about this like civilized adults.”
“I’m not hungry and by the way the names Spike!” he yelled, leaving the room in a rush. He knew he was acting completely childish but he didn’t care. He was sick of being predictable and always behaving.
“I’m supposed to call you what?!”
“Spike?” Buffy said shocked, but no one heard her.
“Fine, leave!” Giles said as he left the room as well.
Buffy sat alone at the dinning table set for four. This is strange Buffy thought, normally I’m the one to walk out.
“His names Spike?” Buffy said still in shock.
