Buffy season 8 episode 2:
Deadly spirits.
After hearing that Wood had a heart atack, Faith started to cry. The rest of the gang had never
seen Faith like that. Only Buffy has seen Faith like that once. When they first met, Faith had
lost her wathcer, and she was scared, as scared as she is now.
She stops crying and walks out of the room, leaving the rest of the gang stunned.
Buffy follows her, and together they drive to the hospital.
In the car, Faith doesn't say a word. When in the hospital, Faith rushes to see what room he's in.
They find out that he is in surgery. He could die.
The rest of the gang is in the hospital too. They came a few hours later. They first had to
take care of Caithlin. Dawn is watching her. So she's the only one that's not in the hospital.
Wood has been in surgery for four hours now, and non of the doctors have said anything.
It doens't look good.
"How are you holding up ?" Buffy asked, after she sat down next to Faith
Faith turns around.
"Why does everyone keep asking that? I'm fine, I'm not the one dying here." Faith said a little
mad.
"Wood is going to be fine, okay, you don't have to worrie about him." Buffy said and she smiled
a bit at Faith.
"I'm not worried, okay, and, hey, it's no big deal, right? If he dies, he dies, that's the way life goes.
I just think he deserves to live, cause he's such a good fighter and all." Faith said.
"I know that you love him, why are you so afraid of that ?" Buffy said and she looked at
Faith and she really didn't understand her.
"I don't love him or anyone, and i'm not afraid of anything. That little sentimentel
moment I had was just because of the shock, I just didn't expect that this would happen." She
answered. But Buffy knows that that's not true.
"You practicly told me that you love him, and that was before the heart atack." Buffy said.
"Look, B., stay out of my way, okay, and if you tell anyone about yesterday, than you and
I will have a problem." Faith said a bit angry and she turned her head. Buffy stood up, and
walked away.
Buffy didn't like what she was hearing from Faith, how could she be so insensitive while the man
she loves is dying. She knows Faith has always been a loner. But it's her choice if she stays that
way. But Buffy doesn't want any more trouble, so she's not gonna say anything about it to Faith.

Faith gets up and suddenly there is this red glow around her. But nobody seems to see it.
She stands still for a few minutes, just looking around, and Xander notices it.
He walks towards Faith, she looks at him in the eyes and runs of. It's like she was scared of him.
Xander doesn't trust it and he goes to Willow.

They are discussing it, but Willow just thinks it's because Faith is scared that Wood may die.
"Will. I'm telling you, there was something seriously wrong with her." Xander argued.
"Sunnydale wrong."
Willow looked very serious at Xander.
Some of the other girls heard the name Sunnydale and looked at Xander.
"Sunnydale is gone. Understand that ?! We've won." Willow said.
"Sunnydale may be gone, but demons arn't gone. Magic isn't gone. So why is it so hard to
believe that we may have a problem here."
Xander looked at Willow with his puppy dog look. And she finally believed him.
"Okay, we'll ask Buffy what to do."

Buffy also thinks that something isn't right about this. So they all go back to the hotel
to look for Faith. Dawn and Caithlin help too.
After three hours of searching, Faith arrives back at the hotel.
Caithlin is the first to see her.
"Faith, hi. We've been looking for you." Caithlin said.
Caithlin was the only one around, the others were still searching for her.
"You've been looking for me ? Faith ? Cause i'm Faith." Faith said with a little smile.
"Yeah... Now that you are here. You can train with me and Buffy." Caithlin said.
"Train ? Why would I want to train when I have this perfect body ?" Faith answered.
"Well, you are a slayer, right ? And slayers have to train." Caithlin said.
"Oh my god, no wonder I feel so powerfull, I'm in a slayer's body."
Faith was acting real weird, and even though Caitlin didn't knew her very well. She could tell
that there was something wrong.
But before Caithlin could say anything Faith began to grab at her chest. She was in pain.
Caithlin didn't know what to do. So she yelled as hard as she could.
Buffy came running down the stairs. And she found Faith on the flour. And Caithlin
was freaked out.

"Caithlin, what happened ?" Buffy asked while she looked if Faith was still alive.
"I...I...don't know, we were talking, and she was acting strange, I don't know." Caithlin said.
"Think! What did she do before she fell down ?"
"I told you, I don't know!"
"You do! You just have to calm down and tell me exactly what happened."
"She eum...oh ! She grabbed her chest. And then she fell down, and then you came."
Buffy looked at Caithlin, then she looked at Faith.
Buffy has an idea about what happened.
"Oké, call 911, tell them that there is a young woman that had a heart atack.
Tell them to hurry."
Buffy stood up, and suddenly there was this red glow around Faith, and after a few seconds
the glow disappeared.
Xander was right, this is Sunnydale weird.

In the hospital they find out that what happend to Faith was the same thing that happend to
Wood. Only Faith's life isn't in danger, because she's a healthy young woman. With Wood
it's different, he just got stabbed. That's why his life is still in danger. At least, that's what the
doctors think.

Buffy asked the gang to meet them back at the hotel, Faith had to stay in the hospital overnight.
"Buffy, what the bloody hell is going on ?" Giles asked.
Everyone wanted to ask that same quistion. They all wanted to know what was happening.
"I think the hospital here is haunted." Buffy said.
Everyone sighed. They were so tired.
"What ?!?" was the only thing that Xander could say.
"Buffy, are you sure ? Couldn't it be it's just stress that gave her the heart atack ?" Willow said,
she looked around and everyone looked at her like she was crazy.
"I'm sure, no stress. Dawn and I did some research. Dawn."
Dawn stepped forward and began talking.
"A hundred years ago there was a church on the ground where the hospital is now. And just
before the church mysteriously disappeared, two people died there. And gues how ?"
"A heart atack." Kennedy answered.
"That's right. The two people who died were lovers. And the rumour was that the mayor killed
them." Dawn said.
"How ?" Willow asked.

Before Dawn could answer that quistion, somebody else did.
"He poisoned them. Didn't he ?" Faith said.
She stood in the opening of the door. She didn't look good.
"Faith, what are you doing here ? What's happened ?" Buffy asked worried.
"I'm dying B. , I just felt worse all of the sudden. The doctors have no idee what it is. But I do,
it's the same thing that's happening to Wood. Poison."
Buffy helped Faith to sit down. She didn't have long left.

"Just look at the signs, first Wood has a heart atack while he was perfectly fine an hour before.
Then I go acting all strange, and I have a heart atack, and Buffy sees a red glow disappear from
my body. So that indicates that I was posesed or something. That probably happened to Wood
too, before he had the heart atack. I'm guessing that the reason why we feel so bad now, is cause
somehow, we got poissoned. I'm right, arn't I Dawn ?" Faith asked after explaining everything.
The others just looked at her.
"Yeah, I think you are." Dawn answered.
"But that still doesn't explain the heart atack. Sure, those two people were poisoned
and that's how they died. But where does the heart atack fitt in ?" Xander asked.
"Overload." Buffy said. "They probably never were able to move on, so they try to escape by
possessing people, and when that doesn't work, somehow, they get a heart atack. But that would
only happen if somebody was trying to stop them from moving on." Buffy said.
Everyone looked at each other to be the smart one this time and give the answer to that quistion :
Who doesn't want them moving on ?

"The mayor." Caithlin said.
Nobody expected for Caithlin to be the smart one, or for Caithlin to even say anything.
But she did.
"Cause the townspeople suspected the mayor for killing the two lovers." Kennedy added.

"But why did he kill them ?" Willow asked.
"Jealousy. He couldn't have her. So no one could. They went to the church every friday night.
They went to pray to god for help. Cause they were scared of him, the mayor. One friday night
he followed them to the church. He poisoned the holy water. And that night they died." Faith
said, while she was getting worse.
Buffy gave Faith some water, cause she was coughing.
Her eyes were very red, and her hart was beating faster and faster.
"But how could they have been poisoned, holy water isn't to drink, and that still doesn't say
what happend to the church that suddenly disappeard, or why he doesn't want them moving
on." Dawn said.
They were all looking at Faith to hear the rest of the story.
"The touch of the water was all that the poison needed. And as for the church, he cast a spell to
make the church disappear. It was like it was never even there. And because their deaths were
never justified, they are doomed to stay on this earth forever, and when they
posesed me, and probably Wood too, they were searching for a way to escape, but that
didn't work, cause of the spell the mayor cast on the church, they were wursed too, they
can never escape, or they'll get poisoned again and again." Faith said.

They now knew what happened, but Buffy wanted to know more.
"Did the mayor know what would happen with the spirits of the lovers when he cast the spell
on the church ?" Buffy asked.
"Yes, that's why he cast the spell on the church, that was the only way to still make them pay
after their deaths. He didn't even looked back when he did it all." Faith said.
She stopt coughing, and her hart was slowing as she passed out.

They still don't know what to do to help Faith and Wood, if Faith was in this bad a shape, they
had no idee how Wood would be.
But Buffy had an idee for the spirits, and maybe hellping the spirits, would help Faith and Wood
too.

They went back to the hospital, and they found the exact location the bodies were found.
Buffy, Dawn, Willow & Kennedy made a circle. Willow started to pour out a black powder.
And they all started chanting. Then there was this black shadow, and suddenly there was this old
man in the middle of the circle. It was the mayor. Then Giles came in the room.
"Mayor beware, Mayor be warned. Out of hell into nothing. Let the spirits sing." Giles said,
while he poured out some more of the black powder.
Then the spirits came. They had no face, no body, they were just a beautiful bright light.
They went to the mayor's dark spirit and they entered his body and vanquished him.
The spirits no had form, you could see their face, their body now, it was a sign that they were
free now.
A white light appeared out of the ceiling and before the spirits moved on, they turned to the gang,
and they nodded and smiled.

A bit later Faith came to thank Buffy and the gang, she was all better again.
And she was very greatfull that they saved her and Wood. All though she didn't really show that.
She asked Buffy to come with her.

They went to the room Wood was stil in for observation and they looked trough the window.
Faith pointed at Wood.
"You, know, that man... the man I clamed I didn't care about, or even love. You saved that man."
Faith said and she looked at Buffy.
"You do care about him. Is that what you're trying to tell me." Buffy asked.
They turned around and looked at Wood again.
"I'm just saying that some of the things I said the other day, may have been true, that's all."
Faith said.
"Oké, will you tell him that ?"
"Tell him what ?"
Faith walked to the door of the room, and before entering, she turned around and said :
"You're okay B. You didn't say anything about the other day. You, I can trust,
I know that know. But if you do tell anyone about this, then, i will have to kill you."
They smiled at each other, and Faith entered Wood's room and sat down beside his bed.
